I was so excited about buying my 8 year old son this subscription. He loves a challenge however it took him less than 20mins to complete it independently. For the money you pay, it didn't seem worth it for us. It's a shame because the concept is absolutely brilliant. I would, however, recommend for those age 5-8 who are interested in STEM activities. The instructions are written well and the kits are thought through.

My 8 year old absolutely loved fixing the retro games console, learning about circuits and how to get everything working again (and then playing the games after!). The secondary activities didn't work so well as we couldn't get the diodes to light up with the copper tape, but we still enjoyed working through it together. Possibly need a little refinement, but we're enjoying the microscope now too!

My son was really excited to receive his first repair, however, the retro games controller seems to need repair beyond what is described in the box. He just gets a blank screen, no graphics. Ive tried getting in touch with the customer service be so far i’ve not had any response (3 days later). It’s been really disheartening for my son and has totally affected his enjoyment of the product. On top of that, the extra projects that were included were supplied with a flimsy 90gsm paper so we found that the light-up ‘piano’ only intermittently made sufficient contact to light up.

All in all a really disappointing experience and certainly not worth the money they are charging…. I wish I hadn’t wasted my money.

I bought this for my 8 year old son and he really enjoyed doing it (I think his Daddy might have enjoyed it slightly more!) He has equally loved that he can now play with it now he's fixed it. We all can't wait for the next one! Great idea, I'm all for a bit of learning that doesn't feel like learning!

My son and I do the repairs together. It's great for STEM development on his part and bonding as well. The service is so great (please deliver to Germany next year? :)) and the end result is really so satisfying and useful we usually end up keeping it!

Amazing and excellent! We really enjoyed our repair box. My 7 year old loved fixing the gadget and all the extra activities included in the box.

I bought this for my 12-year-old son's birthday. He absolutely loved it, although he did figure out the problem quiker that I thought he might. It would have been better if there were a few issues to fix. Having said this, he now loves playing with the retro console.

Would definitely buy again for my daughters.

It's on the more expensive side but in my opinion so worth it. My 10 year old who is autistic and can sometimes struggle and become very frustrated with anything fiddly (in other kits we've tried before) absolutely loved fixing his first repair; a retro games console. In fact, I've never seen him so proud of himself before as when he had fixed it, totally solo! He has since gained enough confidence and gone on to fix a broken toy remote control. Just wow.
The instructions are really clear and break everything down really well. Obviously it has great educational value, but the life skills are what make it for me. We are really looking forward to our next fix.

So easy to use and great instructions. My little cousin could do it all himself but was not too easy by any means!! I even took it apart again and had a go myself. The return at end also meant that he had no clutter and stuff once he'd finished it and ordered another!

I purchased an annual subscription for my Grandson's twelfth birthday. His eyes lit up when he saw the retro games console and he couldn't wait to get stuck in. After a couple of hours in his bedroom, he reappeared looking delighted after watching the videos and completing the repair completely on his own. He'd had to backtrack to sort out the secret mistake and was proud of overcoming the problem. Since then he's had a great time playing the games and has completed the extra challenges at the end. He can't wait for the next one, but this one won't be sent back yet!

The STEM and eco learning is invaluable, as is the boost in self-esteem from the achievement. My daughter is very pleased that, ultimately, this birthday present will take up no room in the house!
This is an amazing idea and a great success!

My kids (and me) love everything about this kit - our first one was a video games console. My son put this together with a friend from school and they really got into it, it's very well thought through, and the kids can literally see every part that goes into making a game console. Plus, they get to play actual games on the handset afterwards. Then we just packaged it up and sent it off again for another family to enjoy. Fantastic idea!

Our son loves the repair kits and would happily work on at least one kit each week!

The kits are really good for self-directed learners and anyone who wants a bit of hands on fun along with their learning.
Such a worthy project too!

Such a fantastic initiative to help kids grow an interest in science, engineering or just understanding how things work and fixing stuff. I really valued the time I spent repairing a little games console with my daughter and could see the little “aha” moments on her face!

My son loves this, it's such a great idea especially for home educated kids. Instructions are straightforward and a fab project!

Amazing experience. We have signed up for the annual subscription and have completed one box so far. My daughter absolutely loved doing the activity and plays with the games console pretty much every day. Everything came and was outlined really clearly, and she did it all herself, with no adult supervision (she is 11). We haven't yet shipped it back, but everything is in the box and ready to go. Its really clear and well thought out. I am so pleased that we signed up for this subscription

We just got our first box I think it's fantastic - it is so well put together, the instructions and additional activities are incredibly thoughtful. Both my kids (8 and 10) were engrossed and fascinated but especially my daughter who will usually claim she's not interested in STEM activities. They were over the moon to get the little console working.

Team Repair has been a brilliant experience for both me and my students. The sessions were engaging, easy to deliver, and packed with valuable learning. The resources are well-designed and user-friendly – perfect for busy teachers. Students gained real confidence in repairing electrical gadgets and learned about reducing e-waste. One even brought in his fixed Game Boy to show me! Highly recommend to any school looking for a hands-on, inspiring STEM activity.
