The 1901 Group…
I first came into contact with Whisky 1901 in early 2024. A friend if mine had a couple of cask investments which initially stirred my interest. After some online researching of my own,I contacted the team and they talked me through the process, answered all of my questions and provided all of the information i required to make an informed choice about any potential investment.
There were a few follow up calls but no pressure from the team to make a purchase. I asked to be kept updated with opportunities of available casks.
My first purchase was not quite a new make, but a young 2 year old.
In 2025, I opted for another cask which was already 14 years old. Through both of my purchases , Michael was helpful and professional and made the process easy.
As some people will be aware , a story broke about rogue companies selling whisky cask investments, with no actual casks to secure. This caused me some concern, but Whisky1901 were straight on to me to explain their position and actually welcomed the documentary, saying that it would help to flush out the rogue traders in this industry. I received a personal call from CEO Aaronn, who spoke to me at length about the situation. At this point i hadnt physically seen my casks, so Aaronn suggested that Michael would fly up to Scotland to meet me at the bond and have the casks taken from storage for me to view. The bond were also very helpful and reassuring, providing information to confirm the casks were actually mine. I was offered samples from each cask also and the whole experience put my mind at ease that the people i was dealing with were genuine and the business was a professional one.
I have attended a few social events as a guest of Whisky 1901, where myself and my wife were looked after all day as VIP guests. Their presence at such prestigious events builds confidence that they try to elevate themselves above other investment companies and align the business with luxury brands and sponsorships.
