I am so lucky to have found Lou straight away, she is everything I would have wished for in a doula and so passionate about her job. She is the warmest person, with so much knowledge about pregnancy, babies and new parents. She supported both myself and my partner throughout the pregnancy, the labour and afterwards with her precious advices and kind heart. I don’t know what we would have done without her! She reassured us about everything that went wrong in the process, and was always there for us.

Lou has been such a huge help over the past few years. My first daughter had sleep problems and with a few tweaks to her routine and some awesome suggestions, we finally managed to get our toddler to sleep through the night.

More recently Lou helped me through my second pregnancy and planned home birth. After a lot of intervention which ended in an emergency c section for my first child, I longed for a more positive experience the second time round. Lou had plenty of suggestions, books for my little one to read, and tons of great advice for us to think about and do leading up to the birth. On the day Lou was so incredibly helpful and supportive and it all ended in a wonderful home birth. Even after labour, she's been awesome and I'm so grateful for everything she's done for us. I would highly recommend Lou!

Both Sarah and Lou were amazing after the birth of our daughter. Sarah was on our doorstep as we returned from hospital and they gave us both emotional and practical support for the first few months. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a post-natal doula!

We had Lou help us after our daughter was born. Lou was very attentive. She ensured my wife and I were looked after and fed and our little one was happy (Pro tip- ask for her chicken soup- excellent meat to veg ratio).

It put us at ease knowing we had an expert helping us, as new parents there was a lot we don’t know and having Lou guide us was great! She also performed baby massage which was helpful as our baby was suffering from colic.

Lou has been our doula starting with the fourth month of pregnancy. She has provided us with amazing support throughout by lending me books, answering our questions, providing valuable advice and bringing lots of gadgets to use during labour.
Above all she has provided a whole lot of mental support during my pregnancy journey and during labour.
I would recommend anyone who is having a baby for the first time to hire a doula. No matter how much you read about it, going through the actual process is a different story and you need someone to help you stay in control and think rationally.

Sarah, was very good at presenting the information to update my knowledge of modern evidence based anti-natal / post natal care and early years challenges. She did have some challenges with clients that had very personal experiences that they wanted to share which were not ignored but also could have taken over the session if not managed.
I found the session very helpful and despite early internet problems was very happy with the content and advise given. Thank You and well done.

For the birth of my first child I wanted a doula by my side (as well as my wonderful partner). So many of my friends look back at their labours as traumatic and I wanted to try and avoid this at all costs.

As I fell pregnant during Covid, I meet with a few potential Doula’s over zoom but as soon as I had my call with Lou, I knew she was the one. I loved her energy and she gave me confidence through the knowledge she shared, that she would be able to support me in my most vulnerable moments during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. My partner also really liked Lou as she catered to his needs as much as mine, making sure he was informed, prepared and ready for the wonderful experience that lay ahead of us.

I opted for a water birth at a midwife lead unit but due to Covid restrictions I was informed that Lou would not be able to attend. In the end this did not matter! After meeting with Lou a few time during pregnancy, we felt ready! I also set up a nest at home so Lou could be with us for the early part of the labour (until I needed to go into the hospital). On the night my waters broke, Lou came around instantly and kept me relaxed during my surges with back massages and words of encouragement/reassurance. I ended up going into hospital 10cm dilated within 3 hours of my contractions starting and gave birth to my beautiful daughter without any pain relief approximately 90 mins later.

My baby is now 3 months old and Lou has continued to go above and beyond to support us, whether it be a home cooked meal during our first few days, baby massage tips, general advice and most recently a recommendation to a great breastfeeding specialist (due to ongoing latch issues).

We are so grateful that Lou has been a part of our journey into parenthood and would highly recommend her as a Doula or postpartum support.

We used ‘the baby experience’, both for the sleep consultancy programme and the baby massage course. Sarah supported us when our baby Zak was only 3 weeks old and guided us in the right direction in developing a sleeping routine and for breastfeeding support.
As new parents, her wealth of knowledge and expertise was very much valued and we certainly acted upon it.

We used Lou for her baby massage course and she was super. This was done virtually and Lou offered her services in the form of 1:1 sessions. Lou based the sessions on our baby’s needs and he loved the classes. She made it fun and engaging through her development of rhymes and actions. She posted us some guidance which we still refer to today. Thank you Sarah and Lou. You’ve certainly helped us through these challenging and somewhat lonely times.

I took part in a baby massage course with Lou from the Baby Experience. We had four sessions and learnt new things each time to massage our babies but also to help with things like wind and sleep. We always had time at the end of each session to discuss our concerns, worried and thoughts which is invaluable for brand new parents. Lou’s kind and patient approach really made us feel welcome, comfortable and supported. I would highly recommend!
