Poor experience with delivery
I should state first this is more a reflection on the parcel delivery service used rather than the company selling the cheese - My birthday cheese arrived, completely and utterly uneatable. The driver said attempted delivery and we were in but no one turned up that day or the subsequent days they said they called. Finally the cheese arrived just left on the doorstep - which if they had done in the first place would have resolved everything. The boxes were crushed, there were biscuits in one pack and looked as though they had been opened. The cheese smelled awful and was growing mould on it - not the edible kind. So we complained and they sent a single replacement box over a week later it arrived and the best before dates are tomorrow, the cool pack was completely warm and the cheese has again suffered and needs to be binned. A forth shipment was sent expeditied and failed to turn up, a reschedule was made, that failed to turn up, a firther reschedle has been made but it will have been in the system for over 5 days. I can’t find anything positive to say about this delivery service, they are completely incompetent, I was looking forward to eating this gift to me 😕 and thoroughly embarrassing to have to tell the person who bought the it for me that their present is not the gift they were expecting me to receive. DHL are not in my good books. Cheesegeeks have been in touch to say they are just as frustrated with DHL as I am and have offered to send me something as compensation. I think an alternative delivery service would do them the world of good as perhaps regional deliveries are not DPD's strong point.

Wouldn’t recommend
This was purchased for me as a present and a delivery comes every few months, but the person brought it still gets all the notifications.
You have no control over the Delivery dates and time.
The cheese doesn’t vary that much delivery to delivery and I haven’t had any yet that I thought was really nice and want to buy.
Worst of all, it has extremely short use by dates of a few days, I assume this service is how they get rid of cheese they haven’t sold that is coming to the end of its shelf life.

Thanks so much for your review. I'm sorry to hear you didn't feel the cheeses in your gift subscription were really nice, and that you felt it was difficult to control the delivery dates. We take your comments on board, and we really appreciate the feedback.
I'm also very sorry to hear the shelf life of your selection was shorter than you expected, and that this caused disappointment.
To clarify, our subscriptions are not designed to use up excess stock. We rotate our cheese selections each month, ordering in fresh batches which are curated to be an interesting and balanced mix of styles and flavours. The shelf-life of the pieces you receive in your boxes is a reflection of the way we cut and wrap the cheese.
All of our cheeses are freshly cut to order, and are given between 6-9 days' life based on the style. This is because we use a special wax paper rather than vacuum sealing our cheeses, allowing the cheese to breathe and arrive with you in a better condition.
I'm really sorry to hear the delivery notifications weren't coming to you after your email had been added to the account. Thank you for the excellent service. My daughter in-law loved the cheese package that she received and sent me a photo of the gift. It was beautifully presented. I ordered it early and hoped that everything would run smoothly with the delivery on her birthday. Everything went to plan and it was delivered on the day.

Great products and customer service

Great service, Great cheese!
Overall I was really impressed with the service received. There were problems with my initial delivery but the support team kept me updated throughout and were super helpful.
Despite the issues I will be purchasing again as the service was great and the cheese was brilliant!

Terrible value for money
Terrible value for money. The cheese was low quality and nearly out of date, and the wine was completely average. For £58, getting just five tiny pieces of cheese and a basic bottle is a rip-off—you'd get far better quality at M&S.

We work exclusively with small-scale artisan producers, many of whom make their cheeses by hand and in limited quantities, which is reflected in the price of our products. The exact weights and contents of each box are also clearly listed on the product page, so we're sorry if the portion sizes came as a surprise.
We're particularly sorry to hear the cheese was nearly out of date. Our cheeses should have a minimum of five days' shelf life remaining when they arrive, so this absolutely shouldn't have been the case. As you didn't contact us about this at the time, we weren't aware there was an issue, but we'd be very happy to look into it and put things right.
