We had a lovely lunch. Good value, service and food.
Pleasant local pub. Clean and welcoming.👍

Let's start with the good points. Lovely friendly staff and a warm welcome. It was Sunday, so the menu was very limited but the roast looked good and my friends said it was. My tropical Eton Mess dessert was very creamy and not too sweet. That was delicious.

However, the choice of only four starters was very limited and uninspiring, only a roast was offered, no alternative as a main course and the choice of sweets was not extensive. The portion of the pate starter was very small, there were two tiny pieces of toast with it, each only 2 bites. I felt it wasn't worth anywhere near £7.50. The cheesecake dessert was very ordinary, probably one of the most tasteless cheesecakes I have had since my Mum used to buy those awful packet cheesecake mixes when I was growing up.

The service for starter and mains was good, but we waited ages for our desserts and the ice cream accompanying my cheesecake had melted by the time it was served.

Finally, it was chaos trying to pay for the food, a long wait and an overstretched manager trying to take money and help with the bar, too.

All this does not inspire me to return for Sunday lunch.

With the excellent help of Sara Jelley, the Events Coordinator, who managed to find us a place, so that we could enjoy the Jazz & Cream Tea event this Bank Holiday Monday. Also the efficient service of Hugo who advised and prepared a place inside, out of the hot sun, bringing us additional coffee. Also Kelly who efficiently helped the many people present to enjoy the day.
It is not easy to be an events coordinator, but Sara did an excellent job. Thank you all for a lovely day.

The food was outstanding, and the staff were welcoming and accommodating. I definitely suggest trying it!

Popped in for a family Sunday lunch, we all had the turkey. The meal was lovely, all the side dishes were fantastic. Topped off with lovely apple crumble and custard,

Staff and owners were very welcoming and friendly.

Disappointing service for a special occasion. Booked afternoon tea (or thought I had) for Valentine’s Day, only to turn up and be told I hadn’t booked it properly and should have called to pay a deposit. There was no mention of this on the website or the afternoon tea menu (I have just rechecked the entire website and have attached photos of the menu which I was told on the day did have instructions for how to book - which it clearly didn’t). the website was unclear and poorly designed , but did clearly state they offered afternoon tea from Tuesday to Saturday, 12-2pm, and they offer online booking, so I booked a table on a date and at a time which afternoon tea was advertised as being served, and even included a note on my booking to point out that it was for afternoon tea. Given that I booked 3-4 days in advance, even if my booking was unknowingly placed through the wrong method , I would have expected that if a deposit was needed beforehand, that someone would have checked my booking and called me before I arrived and was disappointed. When I arrived I was told that because I didn’t call to book, and no deposit was paid, that I should order something else instead. I was offered a burger menu…enough said.

This was very disappointing given that it was booked in advance and no requirement for booking by phone or paying a deposit was mentioned until the day. Unfortunately it isn’t the first time I’ve had bad service here either.

Be wary. It’s a decent enough place for a beer but not for a special occasion or anything more important.

I visited for the first time, and be very impressed-everything from the cuisine to the ambiance and the staff was impeccable! Amazing food, definitely back again!

Just like to say that all the staff have been fabulous since using the establishment, curtious,polite, communitive,friendly, francis always has a smile in her face.

I’ve been coming to this pub for a couple of years and never have I had such a good relationship with the bar staff. Especially Francis, she’s never failed to make me and my family feel welcome, also a friendly, approachable face while at work, no matter the how busy the bar will be.

Frances is always helpful and polite lovely person to be around and always has a smile on her face

My partner and I went for a beautiful meal today. We tried the new burger menu and I must say they were amazing!
The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the staff were very attentive...5 🌟

Lovely staff, lovely location/pub and the food is absolutely fantastic! Would highly recommend, make sure to book because it was so busy when I went, however I can see why it is always busy!

We went for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago and it was the best meal I’ve had for a long time. Everything was cooked exceptionally well and arrived hot. A beautiful pub with excellent service from the staff.

Booked a table for the Italian Special evening, the staff were most welcoming from the moment we walked through the door, could not be more helpful in adapting some menu choices to be Gluten Free.
The Mushroom Risotto was amazing, so tasty and flavoursome.
We have been recommended to try their Sunday Lunch which we will be doing very soon

I cannot rate the Sunday Lunch my husband and I had highly enough! From the moment we walked through the door, every single member of staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
The selection of ales was wonderful, tempting my usually lager loving hubby to try the Green Monkey, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
We were lucky enough that aside from the usual offering of beef, pork or turkey, lamb was also on the menu as a special. With a lot of debating, and not a little bartering, I chose the lamb and hubby went for both beef and pork, for a very reasonable upgrade of just £1.50 - a very wise decision! This way we both got try all 3 meats and boy, were we glad we did!!
Each different meat was cooked to absolute perfection and each one beyond delicious.
Served with a wonderful selection of lovely, fresh veggies, plenty of very tasty gravy and a masterpiece of a Yorkshire pudding, this was quite simply one of the best Sunday lunches we've ever had!
Can't wait to come back!

We took our 3 year old granddaughter. She really loved the atmosphere and the food, as did we. The whole experience is always worth repeating.

Outstanding food. Superb staff. Lovely atmosphere with a good distance between tables. Highly recommend.

Visited for the first time on Friday evening. Cannot fault it at all, amazing food, amazing venue and amazing staff! We will be returning soon especially in the summer as the outside courtyard area is as nice as indoors. Thank you
