I have only done the beginner's course so far but I have found it be be very well taught, very thorough, and very well presented. I would highly recommend it.

Although I’ve been taking photos for a number of years, the last couple of years I’ve lost a bit of momentum to be honest, I retire in September so my ambition is to kick start my photography then. This is the reason I joined your community.

I’m working through your beginners guide a bit at a time, it really helps refresh the memory.
I’ve completed TSOP studio lighting course which I really enjoyed, its well-structured, easy to follow and well communicated, the PDF are a great support for future reference.

I use LRC for all my photography uploading which I learned a bit ad hoc, currently on with TSOP LRC course and finding so beneficial, organising shoots into categories who’d a thought 😂

Still on a learning curve with TSOP so hard to say what are the best bits, but overall I just love the way it is set up, its up to me now to make it work and hopefully improve every aspect of my photography.”

I was searching on Adobe Photoshop tutorials in youtube and came across the Layers tutorial by The School Of Photography TSOP by Marc Newton. I was impressed with the pace and the organised content of the tutorial. I went onto the website and decided to do the course. I had been reading books on Adobe Photoshop and hoping I was learning but did get confused especially with Layers and masking. With his course there are no hidden agendas and he also gives short cuts. The course is well paced. I would highly recommend this course.

Joining The School of Photography has been the Best decision I’ve made.
Before I joined TSOP I tried many others sites to learn about Photography and Photoshop specially on YouTube but couldn’t find anyone that gave clear information until I came across 1 of your videos on YouTube, I just liked the way you explained stuff and that’s what made me Join TSOP and I’ve no regrets at all for doing that.

I really have nothing that I can suggest for improvement because the education at TSOP is so well structured.
I Loved the step by step detailed Lessons on Photoshop, Lightroom & The Photography Beginners Course which I have almost completed and looking forward to complete the other courses too.

Hopefully very soon I’ll be posting my pictures in the Members group and looking forward to joining the Monthly assignments too

Having an interest in Photography but not knowing how to use a camera and all the settings I wasn't sure where to start. However I'm so glad I chose the School Of Photography! Marc has done a wonderful job putting together the online course, I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to explore photography.

I purchased the fine art course by Trudy Kepkie and thought it was excellent and a lot of fun. The only down side was I tried to revisit the course to brush up on a few things I had forgotten but realised that my course expired after 6 months. I don't see the point of this and it put me off purchasing other courses. I feel once a course is purchased it should remain accessible to the customer, which would encourage them to buy more.

Other providers teaching the same subjects, such as Creative Live, Kelvin Designs, Nucly, the Creator Foundry, Joel Grimes, Full Time Photographer etc, don't expire.

There are loads of providers out there all competing for the same customers. I feel having the courses expire is a mistake, will not encourage people to purchase more courses, or take out a monthly subscription, and rather, will cause them to go elsewhere instead.

I have been very impressed with this photography course, its easy to understand and explained in simple terms. My photography skills already improved 10 fold. I recommend any new or intermediate photographer to do this course.

WOW!!! this is great, I’m 70 and decided I need to go full on, headfirst into a digital darkroom. I was reluctant to try a school, thinking YouTube would get me everything I needed. WRONG. I never got the basics with Photoshop so I couldn’t make good progress. I’m only on lesson six in your Photoshop training program but my confidence is already really high. Marc, your teaching style is perfect for my learning style. I can go back and practice and start over with zero consequences (although the positive consequence is that it’s sticking in my brain). I’m trying to go slowly and methodically so I can eventually perform as I use to in my wet/dry darkroom. I can’t believe the power of some of these tools and I’m just starting with Photoshop. Very exciting.

I am self-taught. I learned by reading, tutorials and, of course, practice. But all this knowledge was poorly structured, poorly understood and poorly used. If I got a good result, I felt it had more to do with luck than with my skills.

I wanted to reorganize all this knowledge properly. I liked the school's proposal. Take the time. Build knowledge step by step. Practice. And so on. That's what the school proposes and that's what I found. In that sense, I am very happy. I completed the beginner's course, even though I have been practicing photography more seriously for 10 years. It was very helpful. I intend to return to it. Also, the fact that you have a teaching background makes a huge difference. :-)

Nice proposal in terms of courses and activities. There is something for everyone, if I may say so.

Just finished Beginners Photography Course, and I bet like many, I thought I could skip that one, NO! I took Marc’s advice and did it, and figured out I know nothing! 😳🤣, well not nothing, but I learnt so much! It was absolutely brilliant, I am sure I will be going back for refreshers 😊. Marc’s way of teaching is brilliant. Can’t wait to get started on the others, and to use all I have learnt over the course 😊

I was gifted the beginners' photography course for Christmas and am thoroughly enjoying it. It's so well presented, so easy to follow and the teaching style is relaxed. A really great course presented by a very talented educator.

I've just completed the Beginners Course and it was excellent. As a complete novice, I need to be told what to know and why, which Marc does brilliantly. Having tasks to do makes it even better, as you practice as you go along.

I particularly enjoy Marc's teaching style. He is clearly very knowledgeable and communicates brilliantly, with his humour and personality making it more interesting to learn.

The content is good however be very careful as this auto renews after 12 months without a prior warning email and then you cannot get a refund even if you cancel the subscriptions straight away and email them, but you will get a lengthy reply as to why they will keep your money for the year even when you’re not using the service. Disappointing customer service, will not be using them again.

I have only been a member for a short while, the school of photography has delivered on my expectations and provided some key and useful information. I have been learning photography for some time but never really getting the results I have strived for. I have done quite a few courses, but been left feeling they really did not explain the subject very well or assumed everyone already knew the answers. This at first made me think twice about doing any more courses, thankfully finding the school of photography was a bit of luck, the courses explain most of the items in simple terminology with good hands-on practice. My opinion so far, I made the right decision in joining the School of Photography.

I'm your typical working full time and busy person who sparked up an interest in photography, but between trying to find time to learn, practice shooting and spending way to much time trying to learn what I can on Youtube and books etc. can be frustrating, discouraging, and worst of all they all have different ideas as to how to learn or what you should be doing. So, I know I needed a proper course to learn from, at my pace and available time to do so, I tried some other courses and the instructors were terrible; went way too fast with instructions, and was somewhat vague with other things as well.

Then I saw your Youtube channel, checked out your web site, then decided that considering that with a membership (that's at a very reasonable cost) I can do more than one course online at my own pace...most certainly no regrets for sure, and this is why;

- with Marc's instructional format it's step by step and explained thoroughly, and easy to follow along...this makes learning comfortable and enjoyable.

- also he will repeat certain instructions and this really helps to make it sink in...

2. The support as well with members area, facebook page, and especially the monthly assignments etc. are fantastic, really inspirational and just want to make me wanna get out there and shoot....
Don't hesitate to get yourself a membership and start having fun...

I have never experienced an online school such as TSOP!

I appreciate all that the team/school does. I love all of the interaction they have with their members. It makes us feel like we are a true part of the school and photography! The courses are well done. They are very thorough and detailed in their teachings. Everything taught is also provided in the study guides in each lesson. I have just finished the Beginner course and am now taking the Light Room course. What once looked scary and overwhelming (Lightroom itself) is not anymore, thanks to the way Marc Newton teaches!

Absolutely fantastic courses that got me from using auto mode to fully manual mode in just a month. I am surprised at how much I know and how easily I discuss technical lingo with my photography group. Signing up for membership is the best photography decision I have made.

The School of Photography has been growing its content over the past year or two, which is nice to see as it is now covering so many aspects of photography.
The Best Bits! Hard to know where to start, course content is excellent and very well presented, the Facebook group and the community feel that it gives is also excellent and the assignments each month gives a real learning experience with a bit of fun.
The whole set up works really well and you get a feeling of really being part of it.

Marc, I love your teaching style - straightforward, informative, structured, enthusiastic, ego-free. And I appreciate the confidence you show in bringing in specialists. I particularly enjoyed Andy Rouse and Tom Archer's courses but I don't think I'm temperamentally suited to macrophotography. (Sorry Oliver, nothing personal) You are doing great. Keep going!

I have enjoyed my time as part of this community IMMENSELY and I think Marc’s stewardship and tuition is first class. I say this as an experienced teacher myself! Not only are the in-house generated courses excellent but the quality of guest experts who have led courses in recent times has also been very good. I know from speaking to one of them personally that Marc has instilled the same high standards on them when leading their tutorials.
Not only has the tuition been first class but I have enjoyed the monthly assignments and the Q & A sessions as well. I was delighted to be asked to lead one back in 2021 - my first venture into a live video session. I am sure I could do a better job having reviewed the outcome!
