Hi Charlie, thanks for using our service and for taking the time to leave us a review. With regards to timescales, that very much depends upon 2 things.
Firstly, how complicated a particular client's circumstances are and so how easy it is for them to be able to provide the information we might need.
Secondly, how busy HMRC are and what approaches they are currently taking to processing claims. For example, we are currently receiving refund cheques from them for claims that we submitted in October this year as well as claims that we submitted during January - June.
The good thing is that, regardless of how long they're taking, we will continue to liaise with them on your behalf to ensure we are able to reclaim everything that you are owed.

Essentially, it all depends upon how complicated your situation is.
We try to make our application process as simple and straightforward as possible to identify if / where a client may be paying too much tax. Once our team have reviewed your application, we'll have a better idea of what extra information we may need (if any).

You're right, sometimes HMRC require quite detailed information in order for us to be able to make a claim on our client's behalf, but this very much depends upon the individual client's circumstances.

Our aim is to turn what HMRC require into the most straight forward and easy to understand process as possible, but you're right - depending upon what we need to ask, due to a client's individual circumstances, there can still sometimes be a fair amount of information required.
That said, clients normally find the suggestions that appear throughout the application process pretty useful when they're not sure where to find certain pieces of information.
