New car with fault since June 2025

We purchased a 2019 Vauxhall Insignia in June 2025 Since then it has been returned with the same fault 5 times and the issue is still there. Thurlow Nunn had the car from the 22nd August 2025 until 14th January 2026 and after collection the fault returned within a week. I spoke with both the after sales advisor and the manager today who refuse to do anything further as they say that we have not advised them of the issue for 5 months. ( This time frame is actually incorrect as it is 4 not 5 months) however an email was sent on the 26th January 2026 advising them that the light was still on. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS THYE DO NOT RESOLVE ISSUES ONCETHEY HAVE SOLD THE CAR

We went to see a Nissan Qashqai e-power…

We went to see a Nissan Qashqai e-power at Norwich MG garage, We got Mark to show us the car and all seemed well when we looked at it and test drove it. There was a little above the quarter of a tank full of petrol, which was fine as it said there was 190 miles left.

The back armrest was dirty with crumbs and in the crevices of the back seats, but we knew it would be cleaned. We filled out the paperwork for trading my car in and all went well. But the problems started when we came to collect the car after a week of waiting.

We went through the final stage of paperwork of finance and whatnot and then I was pressurised into giving a review there and then in the showroom when we haven't even finished concluding our business, which was odd. He then proceeded to fetch the keys and came back with one saying "I may have told you a little fib, because there's actually only one key, as the other key was actually for another car. So sorry." So we were disappointed to say the least that we hadn't been told that there was only one key!

Then we went out to the car and looked round it and in it to find that the back armrest and seats were still dirty, almost as if it hadn't been cleaned at all. So Mark cleaned it with a cloth and spray, full of apologies.

So then the time came to start the engine. The infotainment and digital dash display came on for a few seconds, long enough for music to start playing and then went dead. After several attempts to try and get it to start failed, we then went back to get Mark and explained what had happened. When he couldn't get it to start, he then went to get someone else to help. They both stood there and said that it was fine earlier that day as they had filled it with fuel and went to the Post Office to Tax it. After several attempts the alarm started to go off and wouldn't stop, but still the engine wouldn't start!

They both stood there apologising profusely. They tried to jump start it, but to no avail. By now it's 5 o'clock and all the tech guys have gone home, so Mark and the other guy both said that it could be a dead battery and that they'll put in a new one.

So we were given keys to a loan vehicle to drive home in. We weren't shown how to start this new car, as it was a hybrid auto and totally different to what I was buying (I hadn't driven an automatic before test driving the Qashqai). We had to call over another person to show us how to start it, as Mark had walked off!

The next day, Mark left a message to say that they had charged the battery overnight, which meant that they had not replaced it like they said they would. So we went to finally pick up my new car, and when I was able to finally start the car up there was no new fuel in there like Mark had said he had filled it up. It still read a quarter of tank with 170 miles left! Another lie!

So all-in-all a very disappointing experience.

So, I've had to buy a new key fob to be programmed because the car only came with one and now I've had to buy a new 12v battery because the one that was in it was practically dying!

Will definitely not be buying from them again!!

Just like you I was a normal customer…

Just like you I was a normal customer looking at reviews to find out if this company was good or not.
Unfortunately, as I saw more good reviews than bad I thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt. WRONG!!!!!
I would give them ZERO stars if I could.

The bad reviews are the truthful ones. This company is awful. They trap you by communicating well in the beginning and as soon as they get your money it ALL GOES DOWNHILL FROM THERE. You will not, and I reapeat, u will not get ur money back. They will keep prolonging you saying extra days, or they’re busy, or it’s been dealt with on their said and there’s nothing they can do until their finance team sort it. They’re THIEVES.

If it’s the best thing you can do for yourself is find another dealership. This one is all about money money money! ROBBERS.

The staff are all in on it together.

Communication started badly but was resolved

Placed order for my car in February 2026, was told it would be here in April.
Had to constantly chase for paperwork, but was always told the car was ordered and paperwork will be sorted.
Never received any proactive correspondence from the branch. Had to keep chasing for lead time updates. Was advised it was slightly delayed due to the ship being diverted because of canal closure due to Iran war, no canals have been closed and the car is not manufactured in the Middle East.
Left messages to be called back wasn't.
Eventually me July 2026, although from coming to branch yesterday could now be August 2026. The car was never on a ship, the order wasn't placed until April and the car is not even in production.

However, following this, Mark at the dealership has sourced me an alternative colour that I was happy with and happy to say I will receive it in June. Mark called me weekly to provide updates on progress.

Therefore, I have happily revised this review and upgrade the star rating for the service Mark provided.

The experience at Thurlow Nunn Norwich South was fantastic because Nicola Baldry was lovely and very down to earth. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and certainly went above and beyond to ensure the purchase met with all my needs.
Very grateful to her for all her help.

Excellent service on a very tight deadline

I booked my motorhome into Thurlow Nunn of Kings Lynn to diagnose the cause of an Engine management light and the loss of cruise control and the stop/start function. Already having a trip booked to Europe starting on the Sunday, I was very nervous and anxious as to whether they could diagnose the fault and carry our the necessary work required to repair it in just 2 days!

I can honestly say, Michael at the service department desk was absolutely brilliant. He pulled out all the stops, along with the amazing technicians, they diagnosed the fault, replaced the faulty part, carried out an MOT and returned my vehicle to me within 48 hours.
First class service. Michael, thank you do much for all that you did to make that possible.

DO NOT go to Thurlow Nunn unless you want to throw your hard earned money away.

Recently brought a grandland from Thurlow nunn luton, was served by Shaz ‘the best sales advisor they have’. Well since buying the car I’ve had multiple issues, firstly I was promised a full tank of petrol and they tried to be sneaky with giving me three quarters full, thinking I wouldn’t notice probably because I’m a female but getting the extra £20 in fuel back which I was promised has been an absolute nightmare.

The car was also ‘checked’ by the staff at Vauxhall before collecting, but I drove away with a wheel nut missing? then the same day of picking up the vehicle the side light fell out and was hanging. So I took the vehicle back and was told by Shaz “you just need to push it back in”. Now I’m not sure if this is common knowledge or if I’m being made out to be incompetent but surely a car wouldn’t be made with a light that “just has to be pushed back in”. There was also a fault with the cigarette lighter which wasn’t working or checked when selling the car and had to be amended.

Now Im having another issue where the vehicle is going into limp mode because of a fuel leak being detected. This is the second breakdown in the last week which I nursed the vehicle back to Thurlow nunn as I was specially told by multiple staff that if the car breaks down again to have the car recovered to Themselves and now after I’ve dropped the vehicle I’m being told I could encounter storage charges till the diagnostic appointment in October.

I also surprisingly do no qualify for a curtesy car until the vehicle goes for the diagnostic check although there earliest booking is October which means I’ve been left stranded till then. Bare in mind I was promised when purchasing the car that I would be entitled to a curtesy car if a problem would present itself. I was then told by a women from the service department that the RAC cover I brought with the car will cover a curtesy car which in fact doesn’t as they only cover for 3 days and after that which I’ve stated I’m being left stranded with no other option. Please bare in mind when buying the vehicle Shaz had said that if anything goes wrong with the vehicle we would be given a curtesy car given that I had stated multiple times I cannot go without a car hence going out of my way to pay in FULL and even paid the extra extended warranty for 3 years just to ensure that doesn’t happen.

The women at the service desk has also tried to palm off their branch by saying if I wanted to get the work done sooner to take my vehicle to another branch.

Well clearly the sales team are imputing dishonesty in order to sell cars as I was also promised upon buying the car that a new MOT would be issued so I wouldn’t have to worry about that till a year come, tell me why that hasn’t been done ?

I’m honestly outraged by the fact that your hard earned money can basically be robbed by a company that deems themselves to be ‘legitimate’. The Biggest Vauxhall dealership in the nation , then when something goes wrong they then blame the other departments saying “that’s nothing to do with me” as if they were 5.

Please remember the guy that sold us this vehicle has awards for the being the best sales representative in the Luton branch which is mind boggling given the experience we have had.

I now have to waste my day and take another day off work just to be told they cannot do anything for me given that they had just sold me a faulty car. To make matters worse My partner also has to come away from his own business in order to assist me once again, because when I went to the Luton branch I was fobbed off and not took seriously given that the fault was a fuel leak until my partner had to kick up a fuss with the staff just to have some sort of action executed. I find it outrageous that the same outcome was not a first step taken or maybe it was the fact that I am a women and the Luton branch is bigoted and xenophobic.

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THERE

Not to mention now my car has another issue the engine light is on and off and the car is not driveable when the engine light appears and I had paid to have it diagnosed on top of the big 3 year warranty we had paid incase anything went wrong, just to be told to book and bring the car in when the engine light is on. The constant on and off means it isn’t guaranteed to be on when I have dropped the car which means an initial waste of my time … So where do we go from here ? They are no help what a joke.

I always get great customer service…

I always get great customer service from Thurlow Nunn Luton and have bought 2 cars from new with them before together with the car we have just bought which makes 3. Sales staff and customer service staff all very professional and helpful, and having my cars under a service plan with you I always get a good experience.
