If I could give 0 starts I would. Unreliable, lack of communication, scam artists. They will quote you a reasonable price for moving and then charge thousands more, They will drop your belongings off at a facility if you don’t agree to the up charges, and you’ll be charged even more to pick it up yourself from the said facility. Currently speaking with an attorney to take legal action but please do not get screwed over like I did. Do not trust this company to help you move your belongings, please look for a more reputable company!!!

I am going to write a very transparent review. I had called a number that I had originally thought was for the pods. The number ended up being a number to topmovingsolutions (based out of Nashville), and the girl I spoke with asked if I wanted a quote. I said go for it and would consider it if it was comparable to some of the other pricing that I was looking at for other moving options. This company ended up quoting me a very fair price at first. I had booked well in advance because they get you with all of these up front discounts and tell you you have to lock in right then and there to get the best deal so I did. When we did our final inventory review we had added a lot more stuff and our quote doubled. I understood because I did have a lot more stuff I added and we agreed to go forward with this company. I had given them a very detailed list of inventory, and made sure to even over estimate so that we could get the most transparent quote. Come moving day, and the actual movers did do a good job at handling our stuff, however they went over the allotted space and I agreed to pay the additional pricing for the square footage they went over. They ended up using an additional 300 square feet I think and charged us 3500 more. When I signed to agree to the additional square footage the movers even said “we won’t need to use the whole truck,” but ended up using the whole truck. My quote has now tripled and what’s worse is they locked me in to a weekend drop off date after telling me it was going to be that Monday. When I tried to get a hold of someone on the weekend, I was put in touch with a weekend supervisor named Steven. This person I spoke to was one of the most patronizing individuals I have ever spoken to. He lacked empathy for the situation and kept saying the same thing over and over that if we didn’t agree to pay They would take our stuff to a holding facility and we would have to pay an additional thousands of dollars to get it back. This company will BAIT AND SWITCH YOU. Do not believe them when they say you are getting a good price because at the end of it, they will end up charging you 3x the amount they initially quoted you. Please, please look at using other companies. If I could go back and use something else like the pods or even get a uhaul ourself and hire movers to do it I would. SAVE YOURSELF THOUSANDS and don’t go with this company.

HORRIBLE COMPANY. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.
I should have referred to BBB's consumer reviews. The review score about Top Moving Company is 1.02 out of 5 as of Sep. 13, 2024.
If you check by using 'Top Moving Solutions Reviews' or 'BBB Top Moving Solutions Complaint' in the Google search bar, you can see exactly how messed up this company is in providing services.
Two days before the scheduled moving date, the company asked us to change the truck size. It was the truck that the salesman had recommended when we signed on, but the person who called me insisted that we should trade it in for a larger size. Then, he asked for twice as much as the contracted amount. I requested a refund of the deposit, but my asking was refused. Top Moving Solutions only asked me to send them a cancellation request by email. On the day we were supposed to move, no one showed up and they claimed they sent a truck to our house. It was all false. I completed my move using another moving company. Top Moving Solutions seems to be a company that only takes deposits and does not provide services.

Worst moving company

Regarding "Top Moving Solutions", please see BBB (Better Business Bureau)'s customer reviews. According to BBB's customer reviews, it scored 1.03 out of 5 as of Sep. 4th, 2024.

In early August, my wife contacted the TOP MOVING SOLUTIONS sales representative and sent photos of all the items in our home. She also informed him of the size of the house and the number of rooms, and the sales representative assigned a truck for us. He said the truck would be sufficient to carry all our belongings, so we signed a contract on August 6th to move for $5700, with the move scheduled for August 14th. As part of the contract, we were asked to send the deposit ($2190) immediately via personal check, which we sent by taking a picture with a mobile phone. The deposit amount was withdrawn from the bank on August 7th. (At that time, we had received estimates from other companies, mostly around $6500. However, since they offered a discount and quoted $5700, we decided to make a contract with Top Moving Solutions.)

**Problem Occurrence:**
On August 12th (two days before the scheduled moving date), my wife received a call from someone claiming to be the person who would move our belongings, asking for the photos again. When asked why they needed the photos when they had already been sent, he insisted that he needed to see them. After sending the photos, we received another call shortly afterward stating that the contracted truck would not be able to carry all the belongings, and they would provide a new estimate. A few minutes later, we received another call stating that we would have to pay $11,000. We tried contacting the sales representative, but he did not answer, so we sent a text message stating that we did not want to talk to anyone else and preferred to speak with Ben. We also sent a photo of the complaint we had submitted to the BBB via text.

Several people called afterward, and eventually, we were contacted and offered a price of $7000. However, we no longer trusted the company and requested a refund of the deposit, stating that we no longer wished to use their services. The company's representative said they could not refund the deposit and asked us to send a cancellation email. We replied that we would send the cancellation email if they refunded the deposit, but our request was denied. We haven't gotten a refund ($2190).

In the end, we completed the move using another moving company, and after the move, we called Top Moving Solutions again, asking them to send us the contract, but they said they could not provide it. We asked to speak to the manager, but they refused to connect us.

On August 15th, we checked with the bank, and they suggested contacting the police. The bank representative also stated that we needed the entire contract, and when we informed them that the company was not answering our calls, the bank representative called TOP MOVING SOLUTIONS and asked them to send the contract to my wife's email. However, we never received it.

After moving, we visited the local police station, The police there also advised us to obtain the full contract, but despite our efforts, the company did not answer our calls, and the person my wife spoke to no longer answered the phone.

As a layperson who doesn’t know what size truck to arrange, we provided all the photos and house information to the moving company's representative, who assigned the truck. Two days before the move, they informed us that the truck they had chosen could not carry all the items, and they provided a new estimate. I believe this issue was caused by the company, not ours. It doesn’t make sense for them to claim that we canceled the service. Even if we had agreed to proceed with the $7000 offer, we were concerned that the company might cause further issues, such as damage to our belongings during the move, so we decided not to use them.

Please don't use this company.

(Date of my response, right after receiving reply from the company: Sep. 04, 2024) The TOP MOVING SOLUTIONS posted a response a day after I posted my criticism, but there is no other way to respond to the reaction, so I am posting here again.
I don't know which person in charge left the reply, but if it is true that it does not meet the company's standards and deceived the consumer as confirmed, please return the DEPOSIT you received. The contract was not completed due to the company's fault, so I do not understand why the consumer's DEPOSIT is not returned. If you really admit your company's mistake, I would like TOP MOVING SOLUTIONS to return the deposit I paid ($2190).

A snippet of a horrific experience

I wrote a more thorough complaint for the BBB. I’m actually in awe of the service. My belongings were delivered today. Here is how that went:
1. The legs to my sofa are missing.
2. My brand new mattress that I slept on for less than a month is streaked up. It's an actual nightmare.
3. They gave me two belongings (nice furniture) that were not mine. They looked surprised when I told them they did not belong to me.
4. They forgot their tools to assemble my bed and did not put together my book shelf. I did more unpacking of my bigger items (e.g., televisions, coffee table, etc.) than the movers did because they said they were only contracted to assemble the bed. After telling them that was not what I was told, they helped with the coffee table. I unwrapped my couch, which they could not put together because my legs to the couch are missing.

Moving Solutions treated me like a paycheck, not a valued customer. I have MISSING and DAMAGED items. My move was over $5,000 and I truly feel taken advantage of. If you want a hassle free move, or even a little peace of mind, think twice before doing business with Moving Solutions.

Bait and switch in regards to price quotes

I contacted Ben at Top Moving Solutions in the beginning of April 2024. He provided a quote and I sent a deposit of $1507. The week before the move, I sent an email with detailed description, including measurements, drawings, and pictures of all of the items being moved/transported by their company. The person that we spoke to confirmed that they appreciated our due diligence with all of the items, along with measurements and photos. The quote was increased to approximately $4500. When the movers showed up they said that due to the weight of the granite tops/desk, they had to increase our total to $9801 (approximately $3200 higher than the final quote we received a few days before the move). I contacted the customer service number to discuss the issue with the higher price and no one answered or called me back. We had no choice but to pay the additional $3200 in order for our items to be moved across Country at the last minute. Our furniture and items finally arrived over 3 weeks from the initial delivery start date. There were only 2 guys to.move our items, even though there were 5 guys at time of pick up. My husband, who is 75 years old and a disabled veteran, was forced to help move the heavy desk, which we were promised that the movers would be able to handle everything that was on the bill of lading. The boxes arrived and were in very poor shape. I will never use this company again and I would suggest that anyone attempting to use this company, run, run, run. They still have not returned my calls regarding the very large increase at the last minute. This is very poor customer service and unacceptable.

Sales rep lied to me when I asked about the cancellation policy, took my deposit, and then blocked my number so that he could not be held responsible for intentionally misleading me. I cancelled the service within the outlined window, but they refused to refund my deposit, citing a different cancellation policy that was never reviewed with me.

Criminal activity - they will swindle you. STAY AWAY

Good afternoon Natalie. To avoid confusion for anything throughout the process of your move, we have a contract sent prior to and after booking with us. This breaks down every single detail of the move so there is nothing hidden or anything confused in verbal communication. You are paying good money for your move, so we want to make sure we are very upfront. In this contract that you signed, it specifies how to cancel your move very clearly. Your move wasn't canceled in the outlined window that is quite literally highlighted in the contract. We tried to offer to put your move on hold so you wouldn't lose your deposit and you declined. As offered before, you can have your move on hold for a year and relocate with us when you are ready. This is not criminal activity by any means. We are a family business completing thousands of moves a year with excellent service along the way, so please don't slander us when all of this is in black and white so there is no confusion on scheduling, canceling and updating your information.

They didn't take any accountability for failing to communicate. I gave them my entire inventory and they quoted me for much less square footage than what was needed, so I had to pay thousands more.

I would give them a zero if I could. THEY ARE NOT MOVER, THEY ARE ONLY BROKER, once you made the down payment, you can never reach the right person again, they leave you alone to deal with the real mover, who took LESS THAN HALF of the furniture in Top Moving Solutions Quotation, and if I didn't agree, they will NOT refund my down payment. And, they lost my things, the bed rails were not delivered until two weeks after other furniture were delivered, it's super hard to reach anyone, either the real mover (M&R Expedit Mover and Storage ) or Top Moving Solutions. Pls pls pls, don't be like me, DON'T USE THEM!, YOU WILL END UP PAYING MORE! Even though their quotation looks cheaper! And the service is sooooo poor! And, when you fill up the insurance claim they (M&R Expedit Mover and Storage, who is supposedly the subcontractor) sent to you, don't expect a reply, because there won't be any! If you have things missing, you lost them forever! No one cares, NOT Top Moving Solutions, NOT their sub-contractor!

Stay away from this Broker, Mac Kather If that is really his name. They lied to me and said I would get my money back if I submitted an email within seven days of the move which I did and now I cannot get ahold of any one and lost my deposit. I sure wish someone would get back to me so I could get that deposit back.I could really use it.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. This is a broker, not a moving company. I specifically asked them and they lied and said they were a family owned business. Like everyone else, I had trouble with the pick up dates they promised and the estimate was worthless. Had to pay almost double the day of the move. I haven’t gotten my delivery yet.

I found this company had decent reviews…

I found this company had decent reviews so I booked a move that was about 750 miles.

The movers showed up on time to pick up my items but they claim the square footage was massively underestimated and said that for the amount of furniture I had, they would have to charge almost 2x what I was quoted.

I ended up getting rid of some items rather than paying the higher charge which was extremely frustrating.

Then, the movers did not show up to my new apartment on the scheduled day. I figured there would maybe be a few days to wait for the delivery. It is now a full week after the delivery date, no one has reached out with any updates. When I called to ask, I was told it will probably be another week.

These are the sort of issues I was hoping to avoid by using a reputable moving company. I would stay away from this service, this has been a huge hassle.

Hi Jonathan, sorry to hear you had frustrations, definitely give us a call to work through them. If you check the email sent 1/30 2/1 2/5 or 2/9 stating:
This is a binding price based on the inventory you provided, and services requested in the estimate. The only way this price will change is if you add any additional services or inventory items to your move. Based on your list we have you estimated at 370 cf: cubic feet. If at any time you require an additional space reservation or should your list of items take up more space, your binding rate shall remain the same as stated in your contract. Per your contract, your binding rate per cubic foot is $5.85:
Additional services would be long carry over 100 ft from the truck to your door, flights of stairs over 12 steps on the exterior of your home, elevator services or packing. YOU are responsible to have all your boxes and fragile items packed, (I.E. glass tabletops, curio cabinets, TV’s Etc.) Unless specifically noted on your electronically signed order. We do offer ala Cart packing if you need, for an additional cost. Mattresses must be wrapped, and covers can be provided.
Your arrival date is a 3-day window, we will confirm which day the pick-up will be up to 3 days prior to your first day or as late as the evening before your last day prior to the scheduled arrival date, along with a 3-hour estimated time of arrival. Your move date is flexible however, it is based on our availability. Please let us know of any date changes with as much advanced notice as possible to make sure we can accommodate you.
Your delivery time frame is a window based on your first available delivery date and your destination, which is your F.A.D. Your F.A.D. is NOT your delivery date, it is the first date of your delivery window. If your household goods are being stored in our facility. Your FAD window will be applicable once you notify and confirm with the company that you are available to receive delivery. At that point we will schedule your items to be picked up from storage and once loaded your delivery window will begin.
Expedited Delivery – If at any time should you be interested in receiving an expedited delivery, we offer this option at a flat rate per cubic foot. Should you select this option, your delivery window will be decreased by 50%. For example, if your delivery window was 7-14 days your expedited delivery window would now be 3 ½-7 days. This option can be added at any time prior to pick-up or delivery if storage services are included.
REMINDERS – Due to the delivery time frames, we suggest that you do not ship any important documentation such as: passports, birth certificates, social security cards and any other personal identification. We also recommend that you do not pack any medications or medical equipment that will be needed during the time of transit. We also encourage that you do not transport any business or professional necessities. This includes but is not limited to, small electronic equipment, such as ipads, laptops, and computers that you would need immediate access to throughout the duration of pickup and delivery. It is strongly recommended to not schedule house closings the day after the last day of your arrival window because it is for arrival not job completion, leaving an extra day for unforeseen circumstances is always a best practice.
$1080.30 - Credit card is only accepted for deposits in most instances, personal checks can be used on pick up when deliveries are scheduled to be longer than 3 business days, otherwise pick up and delivery must be a certified form of payment for direct deliveries. Deposits are nonrefundable for moves canceled on pickup day.

Stay away!

Stay away! They broker out your move to the lowest bidder and as soon as you get passed off they do not handle the move in anyway, you are on your own. They got me by quoting me very low. I had them double check my items. I provided up to date pictures and listed virtually everything that had to be moved. I got a quote for $4,200. When the movers actually showed up my actual move cost was $10,040! I could not get an itemized explanation of where the gap was and was totally screwed. The moving company was Platinum Moving Services and they were even worse than Top Moving Solutions. Terrible communication, unclear payment terms. The whole operation felt incredibly shady. I've moved 6 times including an international move. This was hands down the most frustrating experience. I legitimately thought I was getting scammed because there is no way a legit business could operate this way and stay in business!

Shady shady shady! DO NOT USE! Original price was less than $3k for move from Chicago to N.C. then the next price a week before pick up went up to over $7k Then on pick up, the new price was over 13k and they demanded half in cash only. I had no choice to pay as it was moving day. Mike reddington with this company told me he was not a “middle man” but the movers told me he was. Then the delivery was weeks late and when I called for updates the lady was so incredibly rude telling me my belongings “would get there when it gets there” and they have 2 months to meet the delivery expectation. When I ansked where my where my belonging were, she told me she didn’t know because it’s annother company that has that info but would not give me any info on that company. Also the remainder of the balance was due in cash only or they would not unload the truck. The whole experience was awful. They operate under numerous company names and source the entire process out. Mike reddington you are a deceitful person and should be ashamed.

On 2/21/24 you reply to this review to call you? Are you kidding me???? I called you so many times and had Mike’s cell and was texting like crazy when the whole moving disaster experience was happening and got no reply! Why no reply, because you got your money from me and your part of the deal was done. Just hope and pray you do better business in the future for the sake of your future customers who do not know any better.

Sub contracted to Sannah Van Lines

Move was Sub contracted to Sannah Van Lines. NO HELP FROM THESE FOLKS. Sannah clearly the most incompetent Organization I’ve ever seen. Wendy and Hannah combined of Sannah Van Lines don’t possess adequate intelligence to even lie well. I’ve been forced to go to the CA agency which regulates movers; California Bureau of Household Goods and Services. Do NOT any circumstances accept text messages as a method of originating, editing or acknowledgements. Perform business only over printable internet documents, better still don’t waste your time, unless you need to experience existence based performance with entertaining excuses. After 2 months still not delivered. Plenty of nice works, however no results.
