The manager is useless. It takes a long time to serve, does not answer phone calls.
Does not serve with Visa card, when everyone else serves or he does not understand about cards or someone informed him badly.
When ordering a car, it was noted that the car will be used in other Baltic countries and was included in the price, so he demanded payment again.
Just after a long trip, you don't want to argue, but just go home.
After using this company in Lithuania for many years, and in Latvia, unfortunately, I had to deal with poor service

Awful company Despite paying in full at time of booking car and providing pick up time and flight number charged an extra €40 after 22:00 fee. Then told there would be an additional £
20 fee for washing the car. On return. It’s January it’s white. The car will be dirty. So unavoidable €60. Rude staff.

Avoid top rent Car Wiz.

Nous sommes victime d'une arnaque par le loueur CARWIZ RENT A CAR // TOP RENT et son Agent Local Mr Pavels S*****s à l’aéroport de RIGA en Lettonie durant les vacances de la Toussaint. Comme le contrat de location le demande nous avons proposé notre carte de credit Visa Platinium . L'agent Mr Pavels S***s nous a refusé celle ci en disant que ce n'est pas une carte de crédit mais de Debit et qu ‘il n’accepte que les cartes de credit , ce qui est faux car cela est bien inscrit . Il a essayé de justifier que notre carte n’était pas une carte de credit en nous faisant un tour de passe passe afin nous faire croire que la carte ne passe pas dans son terminal de carte bancaire . Je lui ai demandé de me laisser faire ce qu’ il a immédiatement refusé puis nous à menaçé d'annuler notre réservation sous 10 minutes ( sans remboursement avec ajout de frais pour no show ) sauf si nous souscrivons leur assurance du loueur ( 210 euros de plus pour notre location ) .
En pleine vacance scolaire avec 2 enfants et plus aucun véhicule disponible dans l’aéroport (l'agent le savait très bien), nous avons été pris à la gorge et nous n'avons pas eu d'autre choix que de payer.
Cette pratique est complètement ILLÉGALE, un dépôt de plainte a été fait auprès de la répression des fraudes en Lettonie .
Si nous avions lu les avis avant, nous ne serions pas tombés dans le panneau car l’agent local Pavels S…..S est a priori un habitué des arnaques de ce type , il suffit de lire les divers commentaires ( ce que nous aurions du faire ) . Je mets donc en garde tout le monde et recommande vivement d’éviter cette société crapuleuse .

Rip off company taken car with the 610km fuel range returned car with the 620 km range got charged extra 39 euros for apparently fuel missing absolute shambles!!! This is the last time rented from them

Finger weg von top rent! Mitarbeiter versuchen einem Versicherungen aufzuschwatzen, die man bereits im Paket hat. Die Kaution in Höhe von 800 Euro wurde erst nach Androhung von rechtl Maßnahmen nach 2 Monaten zurückgezahlt

My advice- strictly avoid this car rent company. We booked car through the Ryanair website, so Toprent/Carwiz were informed about flights number, flight time etc. Because of technical issues fly been delayed for 1 hour. When we landed in Riga, and came to pick up the car- Toprent/Carwiz stuff said - you are too late, yours booking has been canceled.
All our arguments has been ignored, manager said that they can offer another can only but we have to pay on top €70
Honestly, it was very unpleasant to hear, how they trying to use situation… it’s like you seeing that someone robbed you but you can’t do anything…
Then he said that full insurance what we bought for car rent will not work and better to pay them additional €280 just in case. We didn’t trust him and decided to stay wit insurance what we bought online.
Then we got paperwork and schematic of existing damage’s, like scratches, scuffs etc on the rented car. When we checked the car, we found much more scratches and places where paint was damaged. Everything has been photographed to avoid troubles on return.

So, it’s unpleasant experience and I will not use Toprent/Carwiz never again

I had to buy Toprent's full insurance for 270 Euros even though I already had full insurance from another company, because they didn`t accept my credit card. They also charged me for crossing the border to Lithuania, for picking up the car after opening hours. AND a 50 Euro administration fee for a 20 Euro speeding ticket. The lack of transparency and unexpected costs made this rental very poor value for money. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND renting from them unless they improve their communication and pricing practices.
You are such scammers Toprent!!!

De har trukket depositim på 800 euro, men har efter knap en måned ikke betalt pengene. De er stoppet med at svare.
I kontrakten står at det "will be cancelled after inspection by our staff".

Vinduesviskerne var i stykker - "Jeg kunne bare køre til Riga og så vil de se på det". Vi var 250 km væk derfra!

Utroligt uhøflig betjening, hvor han sidder på sin telefon og er helt fraværende.

Vi fik en ringere bilklasse end vi havde bestilt.

Vi skal betale 20 euro ekstra for rengøring. Det er der ikke andre der gør.

Vi skal betale ekstra, fordi vi hentede bilen efter kl 22. Vist 40 euro. Endnu mere, hvis man henter efter midnat.

Vi fik en fartbøde på 20 euro. Efter deres administration fik vi lov at betale 70 euro, som blev trukket ekstra foruden depositum.

Den dyreste bil vi nogen sinde har lejet! Totalt Scam!

We booked the car in February for 18.07.2024 through the broker CAR JET. We flew with airbaltic on a flight from London to Latvia. We did not receive information about the flight delay at the airport, we sat on the plane and waited for departure. The plane arrived with 1 hour delay. We were told by TOP RENT employee that the car has been rented to someone else and blamed us for not arriving at the appointed time to pick up the car. A deposit of €199 was paid for the car in February. Rude TOP RENT employee was not interested in resolving the situation. At midnight, with a 4-year-old crying child, we were left on the street without a car!
Company doesn’t want to refund deposit money of €199.
We have been using various car rentals from Riga Airport for many years. Even when the plane is delayed, the car is always provided!

We hired our car through Ryanair who use Top Rent in Latvia. They also use the name Carwiz.

The car we hired was fantastic, a lovely big Ford people carrier/van. The problems:

1. The confirmation voucher says they'll meet you in arrivals, which they didn't. When we eventually found the desk, the guy at the Top Rent desk was next level unfriendly. Regardless of any issues if someone is friendly and understanding, it makes the whole experience bearable. This guy was like a robot, with no apologies, no sympathy and an expressionless demeanour.

2.He informed us we had to pay an additional 350 Euros for insurance because they didn't accept non-physical credit cards (ie Apple and Google pay no good). I had all my card details to use as a telephone like transaction but he refused.

3. We had to pay 20 Euros for cleaning, otherwise we would have to have the car valeted inside and out before returning it. Mainstream hire companies allow you to return the car with "reasonable dirtiness" levels with no charge.

So what could be a totally reasonable experience became a confrontational and start of our holiday ruining experience. I'll never go through Ryanair to hire a car again (this was my first time as normally I go direct). It may look cheaper when you book it but there are these hidden costs, and from other reviews I'm wondering if we'll get our deposit back.

TOP RENT, a company already notorious for its poor reputation and bad customer service, started using other names such as CARWIZ...

It operates as a clear scam, employing various tactics to coerce customers into purchasing their additional coverage regardless of necessity.

They claim not to accept debit cards for deposits, which is not clearly stated on their website and other booking platforms, citing issues with preauthorization on their payment terminal. Yet, curiously, by opting for additional coverage, suddenly the payment terminal can process the transaction...

Additionally, the service was far from satisfactory due to the unfriendly demeanor of the staff member. Upon arrival, I was met with cold and indifferent attitude, making the process uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Not only did they lack basic courtesy, but their lack of professionalism was evident throughout the interaction.

I ultimately decided not using my booking with them and instead opted to rent a different vehicle from another agency located at the airport !

When getting the car, I met the most unpleasant and stressed person. Toprent charged me an extra fee of 250 Euro for late arrival but they knew I shall arrive 00:30 by night. They also didn´t accept Booking.com rental and they charged me another €385 for a new rental in spite I paid to Booking.com.
Nobody shall rent a car with this bad company "Toprent". If they treated me so badly, they will treat you also the same. Select any other company but NOT Toprent.

So bad experience!
Be carefull renting a car at brokers website, when I picked up the car I was forced to pay additionaly 210€ for 7 days in insurrance, even though the voucher I had sayd everything was fully paid.

Stay away from this company

Didn't returned my deposit for debit card. Promises over the phone calls. Time wasters. Layers. Disrespectebel services. If you need payment for services that you provide ask for it but dont take it because you can. At my next treep to Latvia I will leave statement in local police department.
