I recently spent over $3,200 across…
I recently spent over $3,200 across both online and in-store purchases with Total Tools, influenced by their advertised Insider rewards promotion. The expectation was clear — earn points and receive the associated bonus.
After completing the purchases, none of the points were applied.
When I raised this, I was told the reason was because my account was “opted out” — something that was never disclosed at checkout, either online or in-store. At no point was I warned that I wouldn’t receive the rewards, despite the promotion being actively advertised.
This is extremely misleading. If there are conditions attached to a promotion, they should be clearly communicated upfront, not used afterward to deny customers what they were led to expect.
As a result, we will be refunding the products, as it’s not worth leaving our money with a business where the promotional terms are not honoured in practice.
For comparison, other retailers like Sydney Tools have always been far more transparent in my experience and would typically honour a promotion where the purchase was clearly made based on it.
Very disappointing experience overall.
Ironair Compressors are JUNK.
Purchased an Ironair Air Compressor Model Number -: TTD1240AL for $549.00 in June 2023 from the Townsville Domain Central Store. Compressor failed January 2026, would not start and run. Called the store and they advised that they could not help as it was six months out of warranty. Called the Ironair Technical Services number and described the issue, their advice was to change the capacitor. Changed capacitor, still not working. Went into the Townsville store 2/3/2026 and explained the issue, was referred to the store manager. Store manager said in this day and age I should expect to only get two years of service from the compressor and most products we buy these days. (Wrong answer!!) I respectfully disagreed with her comment. My previous air compressor lasted ~ 20 years and only stopped from excessive corrosion in the electrical component/switching area. Cannot remember the previous compressor brand name unfortunately. My advice -: Ironair compressors are JUNK Do Not Buy One!!

Price match gaurentee is only on delivered items not pickup items. They simply respond with the following

The taxes and charges are identical on the price matched item. Misleading practices.
I will not be purchasing from them again.

I should have listened when advised by 2 different people to avoid Total Tools.
On Nov 28, I ordered, with a hefty price tag, an EGO POWER+ 56V Mower via Click & Collect at the Maroochydore store specifically because the website showed a green dot clearly stating "In Stock."
It has been an absolute nightmare since, and I am now left without a mower during peak growth season.
When I called to collect, they couldn't find my order. I was promised callbacks that never happened.
I had to chase them, only to be condescendingly told "online orders take 14 business days"—despite the website explicitly advertising it as in stock at this location.
It has now been over 2.5 weeks. I called for an update and was told it won't be ready until maybe the second week of January- almost a 2 month wait for an item I already paid for under the pretence it was available immediately.
To top it off, when I expressed frustration that my yard is becoming a jungle, the staff member laughed and suggested I drive to Bundaberg if I wanted it sooner.
This is deceptive advertising. I have paid for a product I cannot access, and the delays are costing me time and money. I expected at least an apology from Total Tools, rather than laughing at customers for their own logistical failures.
Don’t order if you need the product in your lifetime
I ordered mig wire on 4/12/25 as I didn’t need it right away and wanted to save myself a trip. It is now the 10th and it still hasn’t been shipped. (I bought from a competitor in the end). I keep checking tracking and it says the order has been received but nothing beyond. I tried using the online chat but it doesn’t work. I requested a refund for the item I never received and got little response. It says it will take up to 5 days after they process the request to get a refund. It also said “due to the high volume of requests it would take 24-48hrs to look at the request. So I could have mined, smelted and made the product myself faster than Total Tools
This was the response from the company after requesting a refund for a product never sent.

We apologise for the lack of updates regarding your Online Order No. Our records indicate that it is currently on back order status with TT Thomastown. They have had to place an order with their supplier, as the product is out of stock.

Poor experience
On entering the store 4 staff were chatting. No greeting. No offer of assistance. On check out guy was grumpy. Had hay fever which I understand but it was a crappy experience wish I had have returned the goods and shopped elsewhere. No going back. Inv 288168.
Bad service from both Total Tools and…
Bad service from both Total Tools and their delivery service Shippit/Aramex. All of them promised but didnt deliver.
FACTS: I ordered and paid online for a leaf blower on Sunday at 12.30. Total Tools advised Sunday 2pm that the item was packed ready for delivery. Aramex picked it up on Monday at 9.46am. Total Tools, Aramex and Shippit all advised on Tuesday at 7.40am that the item was with the courier and would be delivered on Tuesday. It wasn't. Now at 9.30 on Wednesday it still hasn't been delivered.

As mentioned in our Lowest Price Guarantee Policy, we are happy to match a lower advertised price for an identically stocked product found elsewhere.
Good that I tried it out to see what a scam it was as now the public will be more aware of what your fake "Guarantee ", tactics are.... over $7 i won't shop with total tools as they're now just as bad as Bunnings.
At least Mitre 10 have a more Genuine approach, far better service and knowledge plus will actually price match without all the hoops to jump through, plus you're supporting local.
Sydney Tools have far better pricing, range and once again if you inquire they generally look after you on pricing regardless.
Ah well at least this is public and more visible for people to make their choices based on the company's integrity. Why even put it up there? Oh yeah, because you want people to have a false sense of security.

Poor online customer service
An error was made internally with their loyalty program & then they proceeded to debit points instead of crediting them & now they continue to dispute it & have penalised me for their error. You don't get anywhere with their call centre as they don't understand!!! The loyalty program is a scam & they'll do whatever they can to get out correcting it. Was a long time customer but not any longer. Terrible customer service
TT Settlement Rd - Thank You Josh
A huge thank you to Josh at TT Settlement Rd. I took in a head set which needed adjusting and was having an extremely difficult time finding a screwdriver / allan key small enough to release the screws. Josh attempted to contact several business' to determine the type of driver that was required and then called in 'back up' staff to assist. Eventually another staff member was able to find an item with a small enough tip to release the offending screws. Josh then proceeded to assist with fitting the attachments, which ended up being rather complex, and wasn't expecting any purchase to be included. I did purchase the screw driver set, as I know I will need to attempt another headset adjustment in the future. So thank you very much Josh your kind assistance, and patience is so very much appreciated. It saved my sanity.
Reliable, good range, good business ethic.
Been getting tools from the Preston branch for years. They have an excellent range of quality products and the TT brand of products I've found to be excellent and long lasting as well, as well as good value. Good returns policy and the service is not a nuisance. I'd recommend TT for the industry professional as the best choice for general tools, and also many specialised tools.
Worst experience ever I call the store…
Worst experience ever I call the store as the item was on special to find out they didn’t have it . They told me to go on line to order which I did . I then find out two weeks later the tool was ordered through the oversea store and will take 2 months at least. I have asked for a refund. Will not do anymore online orders through total tools . I also would like to inform the readers the stuff are under trained and are not to be trusted.
Total tools = No spare parts
I buy a Total diesel generator type TP460015P, two year later I got a some issue with the motor and Total tools can not supply me with any spare parts...
Not even a air filter can Total tools supply to me...
So stay away from this brand.
Retrain Staff!
Retrain Staff!! Rude and no clue! left standing waiting to find out when stock will be coming for ages, went looking for the staff member to find out whats happening, grins on all other staff members when I asked whats happening only to be told he is on the toilet! Will not be shopping there again! Disgraceful full stop! He could of got some one to tell me that he had to go and not waist lots of my time and waiting for no reason! Found product online for the 1/4 of the price of Total Tools price so I win! No offer to let me know when stock will return! Customers ARE your Business!

I used to go to Total Tools for Help about Power Tools and also to Purchase but ever since they change their staffing from competent to Incompetent I no longer go. To have Staff well versed in the industry to having Ex-Coles Management and Staff working there with no knowledge is ridiculous, it just seems to be all about the money for them now. WAS GOOD WHILE IT LASTED. i HAVE FOLLOWED YOUR EX-STAFF OF TOWNSVILLE BRANCH TO OTHER TOOL COMPANIES IN TOWNSVILLE WITH EXPERIENCE IN THE TOOL INDUSTRY.
