I bought a 300 series Landcruiser with…
I bought a 300 series Landcruiser with fixed price service and booked it into the 40,000 service at the fixed price.
When I took the vehicle to have the fixed price service they said it was overdue and would not be covered.
There was never any information or instructions to take the vehicle within a certain period. They were totally dishonest and tried to make me pay for the 40,000 service at full price (more than $1100) instead of the agreed $375 fixed price. I believe that they have breached Australian Consumer Law and acted dishonestly.
Toyota Australia siding with a dealership when sold a defective vehicle
Purchased a second hand car through Llewellyn Booval nearly 2 years ago. Experienced electrical and suspension faults the day after we brought it home. Has been back to them numerous times where a part has been changed the problems return soon after. The car was returned to me last week and I'm expecting the same fault to return any day now. I lodged a complaint with Toyota Australia and after much communication they decided that the dealership is in the right and the faults don't constitute faults worthy of the car being returned. I was informed that I could seek legal avenues if I wished. That is an option of course, as is providing the information to the media.
Toyota Galleria Morley
I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at Toyota Galleria Morley. Within 24 hours of purchasing a car, I reported a serious engine fault. Despite notifying them so promptly, the dealership knowingly sold me a defective vehicle. The situation has only worsened, as the manager, Matt, has been unprofessional and unhelpful throughout the process.
I was given the opportunity for repairs, but when I received the car back, the same issue remained unresolved. Now, Matt is refusing any further solutions and has rejected my request for a refund. I am left without a car and with no resolution in sight.
This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing, and I would warn others to avoid purchasing from this dealership. The lack of accountability and refusal to offer a refund is unacceptable
I bought a 2022 glx CHR hatchback
I bought a 2022 glx CHR hatchback, had fuel consumption problems middle of 2024. Been told it’s my short distance driving was the problem by the dealership. I totally dispute their diagnosis, I have been driving the same distance since new, now I have a problem. If anyone out there has had the same problem I would like to hear from you. I’m not impressed with the service I’ve received whatsoever. I will never buy another CHR again, I’ll go back to the Corolla, as they don’t have any fuel consumption problems.
I bought a LC300 in January 2024
I bought a LC300 in January 2024. The first thing I noticed was the awful cruise control but after playing around with some settings it will at least corner properly without excessive application of power on leaving the corner. The next thing was the car couldn't be reversed with a bike rack on. The manual says to turn 8 things off when towing. I wanted a bull bar and Toyota's own website casts doubt on the functionality of the forward camera if you fit one. I asked the dealer and made an enquiry to Toyota australia and the answer is nobody knows. Amazing to think they can make a car and then not even understand how it works.

I have used Chatswood toyota's service deaprtment 3 times, every time they have tried to rip me off, they were successful once.
They always offer you the most expensive repair option possible, and they cannot even be honest when counting clips for the roof of your car.
My first experience was when I hads anelectrical problem with the wiring in my junction box, a common problem in Lancruisers caused by blocked sun roof drains. Instead of addressing the corrosion they sold me a new turbo for $6600, when there was nothing wrong with it. To add inmsult to injury they did noit address the root cause of the oproblem, the sun roof drains as any ethical repairer would hoing to exacerbate and facilitate the problem to require a $15 000 repair.
My second repair was for a oil pressure gauge that did not work, they already knew about the problem with the wiring, and within 2 hours of dropping my car off the namanger rang me and told me I needed a new engine. Totally outrageous and unethical. I told him it was ourageous and that I had just towed a three ton boat with no iussues, i then told him to check mthe wiring, The wiring ewas the issue. Yet again they deliberately did not address the root cause of thr problem , the sunroof drains.
I have taken the issue of the $6600 turbo robbery with customer support. IOnitially thgey agreed that the turbo shoulkd not give out after 118 000 km in a new Sahara, and that it should not matter that I had not had my car exclusively serviced by Toyota, as long as it was serviced every 10 00km by a log book certified mechanic, which it had. i then awaited a response which took about 6 weeks, they denied my claim, and when i brought up that with the rep had already said that it should not matter that Toyota had not exclusively serviced my car, and that the tech experts said the turbo should last more than 118 000, the rep said that she could not recall those staemnets, I then said refer to the recorded coversations. They nreplied that the conversations are deleted after 29 ndays. They refused my claim , stating that my mechanic had used cheap oil. That was not the case, I then went to my mechanic and had him write on letterhead that the most expensive synthetic oil was used. That was the end of it.
I am now going to hire a social media manger to cause them sufficient p[ain byu makinmg the public awaree of the fact that they aree totally unethical thieves whose sole purpose is to rob customers.

I highly recommend Trevor Carsas of Oldmac Toyota Springwood for his expert knowledge of the range of Toyota vehicles, his patience in dealing with our numerous questions, his professionalism in not being pushy and giving us time to think about things and make a decision, giving us invaluable tips in purchasing along the purchasing journey, his great customer service, his appreciation of our purchasing needs, his excellent customer service and his polite friendliness. My husband and I have a lot of respect for Trevor and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a new Toyota. The staff at Oldmac Toyota Springwood were all generally very courteous each time we entered the premises. We bought a car from Oldmac Toyota 20 years ago and it was great to do so again.
The New Garden Snail
Toyota Motor Corporation -the new garden snail. Ordered this car from CO-OP Toyota Hobart, Tasmania, in March 2023 and paid a $1,000.00 deposit.
In December 2023, I received a false word treat (email) from Toyota Sydney, NSW telling me production had increased and, my wait time had decreased, expect your new car soon. In March 2024, I got another false word treat, from Toyota Head Office Sydney, NSW, stating production has
increased and your wait time has decreased, expect your new car to be delivered soon. Yet, the new car still hadn't been built in Japan OR France. So how could me new car arrive soon. Inbetween I got calls to buy accessories pack for my non existent car. Toyota refused to lock in a build price on the day I paid deposit and ordered. Toyota fixes the build price the day your car is built. So, Toyota don't give a toss if you wait two or three years for your new car to be built.
As you just pay the RRP in your country the day Toyota verify your new common as muck, bulk-built, modestly priced car is built.
Sixteen months on... no new car. Common as muck, mass produced and distributed car is still on the waiting list in Japan or France to be built. I applied for me $1,000.00 deposit refund plus savings interest today and am ordering another new car made by another brand from another country! My first and last attempt to ever purchase a new 'common as muck, cheap Toyota from the Toyota Corporation- as slow and as common as garden snails.'
Today Thursday 13th of July 2024 I just got me $1,000.00 deposit back.
I lost 5% on $1,000 deposit x 15 months.

New car experience
I ordered a Toyota Yaris Cross GX back in August 2022.
I was informed at that time the vehicle would be ready for collection by June 2023.
I have been waiting for this car for over 20 months now and informed it would be available to collect in June 2023 initially when the deposit was paid.
It is now January 17th 2024 and I still have not received my car , I’ve been promised dates that have subsequently lapsed and constantly being let down.
I have received approximately 10 / 11 dates for collection going back to June 2023 with promised dates that have failed to materialise.
December 2023 I was promised that it would be ready to collect towards the end of December then the beginning of January and every week since I am told it will be the following week , the vehicle arrived at Fremantle docks at the end of December 2023.
I have emailed Toyota Australia and spoken to the manager at Rockingham Toyota and I cannot even be provided with an explanation as to why I have not received the car yet.
I am now over the 8 months of the promised date of collection .
In my opinion Toyota really do not care with the comfort of knowing they have customers queuing up for their vehicles.
I honestly thought Toyota were leading the market in Australia before purchasing a vehicle from them. Guess not.
I have since sold my car due to the promised collection dates.
I would NEVER purchase another new vehicle from them again. Never had this problem with Nissan.
Bring the 2023 Prius to AU now!
Really Toyota? You finally make a car that we would want and you decide NOT to bring it to Australia???
I'm speaking, of course, about the 2023 Prius (and Prius Prime). For whatever ridiculous reason you've decided to deny Australians this vehicle, even though it's the most appealing thing you've made in years.
Lets ignore the fact that you had to fire your CEO for trying to gaslight the world into ignoring electric cars. Lets pretend that you think you know better than your customers about what we want to buy. Why are you refusing to bring THIS vehicle to Australia when you've already got a RHD version that you're selling in Japan right now?
The colossal stupidity of, yet again, alienating your customers makes no sense and is something that not only pisses us off, but will have a lasting effect on brand loyalty.
Perhaps you think you can gaslight us, lie to us about EVs, deny us your best offerings, and then send us the junk that nobody else wants to buy here. Good luck with that strategy, I for one, am not buying it.
