The "Building Winning Automated Trading Strategies with Tradestation" course presented by Petr Tmej was well worth the investment. Petr is exceptionally knowledgeable and has a passion for his subject material.

Over two full days, Petr presented a wealth of material. The course gradually builds up to its final outcome: the development of well-tested, automated trading strategies. The strategies are initially developed using Adaptrade and then further refined using Tradestation. Petr then went further and showed how to provide more rigour and certainty, using other tools (mostly spreadsheets and the like) to build a final trading algorithm.

While the course does not specifically require any knowledge of genetic programming algorithms (or programming in general), this is not a course for beginning traders. To get maximum value from this course, it would be helpful to have some programming background. Having said that, Petr provides extremely comprehensive course materials that can be used as a reference later on. Even if you don't have a programming background, if you have the desire to learn and are prepared to put in the effort, this course is worthwhile. I think it's more important to take away an appreciation of the methodical and structured approach than it is to necessarily be able to comprehend all of the detail in real-time. And given that the course is made available via video to watch as many times as you like afterwards (at no extra cost), you do not need to stress about missing any of the finer points along the way.

If you are a relatively experienced trader looking to integrate new ideas into your trading, I would highly recommend this course. The course is heavily predicated on Adaptrade and Tradestation, but the ideas are portable if you use a different platform. If you are just getting into algorithmic/systematic trading, it may be worth getting a bit of experience first and then taking this course.

In summary, if you are a serious technical trader you should enrol in this course.

It was a very well structured, comprehensive, valuable ATS course. A full scope adventure starting from how to build an automated strategy by yourself, through how to achieve statistically substantiated robust strategies and ending by having a diversified portfolio which is making long term profits for you. It was worth every minute.
All the materials Petr provided for the course were fully traceable and well organized. He also presented the use of several software tools, which can help us on the way.
During the online webinar man could really get the feeling what is the real essence of trading, the science behind the whole story, which is the driving force of successfulness.
This course is for you if you would like to learn how to build and evaluate robust automated systems and making such a portfolio. The point here is robust, which is scientifically proved. And as such, it can give you the assurance that it really works. Not for several weeks or months, but for long-term. I am very happy that I took part of this very useful, valuable course. I can recommend it to everyone who takes trading seriously and not just gambling his money. Thank you, Petr.

The ATS training program was very well done. There is a lot of material to cover but Petr did it in a clever way. Much of the basic content has been covered in previous lectures that Petr provided by way of a video archive before the live class began. This way you could study that material on your own leaving more time for Petr to do what really matters which was to demonstrate how he actually uses the Builder software to create his own robust strategies. This was very informative and quite powerful. The training went beyond just strategy building as Petr demonstrated his own proprietary methods of stress testing. I would recommend this training to anyone who wants to take full advantage of the Adaptrade Builder Software.

The ATS course was outstanding from the point of view of the comprehensive nature of the material covered, demonstration of various software tools and the quality of the electronic files provided (including robust ATS generated live within the course itself- an unexpected bonus from the course I attended live).

Petr also gave access to previous recordings to help get up to speed before the live sessions (I would highly recommend watching these recordings in advance of taking the actual course, to get the most out of the live sessions and ensure you follow along the material presented).

Note that, as the course content evolves over time, each course is not simply a repeat of the previous one and the results of the genetic programming searches for different strategies will also be unique to each course and will each have their own learning points.

It would have been nice to have a format that allows a bit more interactivity between the students and Petr, however given the sheer amount of content covered, I can also understand why this is delivered more in a live demonstration/lecture format.

This is NOT for people looking for a "get rich quick" system where you simply press a button and it prints money- if you want to waste money on that sort of course you should not consider this one.

Instead, if you are committed to get the most out of a course that will give you a statistically robust methodology to assess whether or not your ATS is providing a genuine probabilistic edge over the long run across a diversified portfolio, I highly recommend this course. Be prepared to put in the work to get the most out of it though!
