I paid for cancellation protection. Had an unexpected illness arise the day before - Travel Guard refused to refund the over $500.00 hotel fees. Lesson learned - no more Travel Guard or Expedia.

This is not a cancel for any reason company and I will never use them again. I was not able to go last min due to work obligations. Provided a statement from my company as requested and claim denied. This was used through Frontier Airlines which I will also never be using again. For this same trip I purchased tickets to a sporting event and they were insured through Allianz I didn’t have any issues and never do. This was the 3rd time I used Allianz and next time travel guard is suggested I will decline and go with Allianz to hell with Travel Guard

After purchasing An annual subscription, I had a question on the “destination “- it stated United States, but that was not my destination. When I called to inquire, the representative said she could t see my policy number and that she was having computer issues and would call me back. I never received a call! I then called the following day. I’m concerned that if I have a need while abroad, I won’t get the help needed if this is Travel Guards reaction. Secondly, I was suppose to get the policy mailed to me. That still has not arrived!
Close to making a decision to cancel if I don’t see the mailed, hard copy policy soon.

Completing the online form was easy with no issues. The explanation was helpful to walk me through getting the right policy for me.

I sent them THREE notices and a phone call requesting CANCELLATION of my POLICY 1000786523 well within the 15 days--I cancelled on day ONE!!! They promise to reply in 5-7 days but do not reply in time.

This is 100% a scam, and I want to genuinely warn people about this.

They charged $51 each, to my dad and I. We had to cancel our trip cause his blood pressure was acting up on Feb, 24th. The trip was March 4th. They now, won't refund anything. Even tho we cancelled not only in the time period, but weeks before the trip.

They have made us jump through hoops, and its been the worst customer service experience of my life.

I never leave reviews - but my one piece of advice, is do not buy from this company. I will be leaving reviews to warn others on every site.

You better go for Allianz...I had an amazing experience with them.
Travel Guard instead is just a cheap, slow, dodgy and not supporting insurance that is out there just to take your money and abandon you when you most need them.

We've bought Travel Guard trip insurance many times and had to use it for the first time on our recent trip to New Zealand in February. Had to visit the Emergency Room - spent 7 hours there for a number of steps needed to reduce head pain. I provided the hospital a copy of our Travel Guard policy and we never received a bill. Saved us over $1000.
Buying a TG policy is so easy online, clear comparisons so we don't have to over-buy, and easy to add additional travel purchases and cost later. Plus it's proven to be at a lower cost than every other policy offered by our travel agents or cruise lines.

Also great customer service reps when you call - really helpful, easy to understand, and never over sell.

Easy steps to accomplish what you wanted, website is very good. I always get the insurance thru you guys, thank God never have had the need to use it.

I purchased insurance for a trip that I had to cancel due to my wife having an unexpected surgery. We provided the Doctor's note along with all pertinent documentation. I spent a total of $3,458.23. I was only refunded $2,820.06. The balance of $638.17 is in credit. So now, Travel Guard is forcing me to take a trip with United Airlines or lose my money. I'm extremely disappointed with how this situation is being handled. I attempted to handle this amicably but, every time I called, no one could assist me. I called several times. Once an Adjuster returned my call, about a week later, she only left a message but no contact information. This isn't how you handle customers.
