He was very patient and took his time to answer all my questions. He showed empathy, understanding and excellent customer service. We are confident our upcoming tour will be as good and as well organised as our previous tours have been

The extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Elegant cabins, although bathroom a bit dated. High standard of cleanliness in dining and general areas Standard and choice of food excellent. Excellent service with a smile from all the staff. Well organised tours and excellent tour guides.

River Cruising with Lost Baggage
This should have been a 5 Star review of our APT Travelmarvel River Cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam except for one crucial factor - KLM lost BOTH our hold bags while travelling to Budapest. The situation was complicated by the bags needing to "chase" the ship docking frequently along the trip. We were left with minimal clothes until we received just one bag nine days later.
The Cruise Director was aware of the situation and in contact with KLM with minimal feedback. In retrospect, we should have pushed harder over this period, expecting the problem would be easily resolved, but eventually decided we needed to ask the company to give the matter much higher priority.
In fairness to APT, the company response was to escalate pressure on KLM, resulting in one bag eventually being delivered on board (the second bag had a longer holiday than ourselves, sent to our home a week after we returned!).
Now to the positives. We supplemented our travelling clothes with extra purchases during the missing period, and the laundry gave us express cleaning service without charge. The ship's crew could not have been faulted in terms of friendliness and standards of service.
APT is an Australian company, and we received warm support from both crew and passengers for our situation. Despite our tribulations, we were determined to enjoy ourselves, and would recommend the company to future travelers.
P.S. One recommendation we received (and have acted upon) is to buy AirTags to travel within the baggage. This may be a two-edged sword, as you know where the bags are, but the problem remains as to how they might be delivered!

A wonderful voyage around the Aegean Sea
The ms Caledonian Sky is such an elegant and comfortable ship to travel on combined with a brilliant itinerary - such interesting and enjoyable excursions. The ship's personnel provided a first class service, nothing was too much trouble. Likewise the tour director and his assistant. In particular it was so pleasant to enjoy our meals on the outer deck in the balmy Mediterranean weather. A memorable holiday, we'd not hesitate to 'Travel Marvel' again!

A nice trip
We were pleased with our cabin, the staff were very nice and the included trips were excellent however we were shocked by the prices of the optional trips. We love APT because everything is included and we have had amazing trips with them but now Travelmarvel seems to be the only option with in Europe. With APT there were several options each day and you choose which one you want, all the drinks were included and all the tips were included. You know where you are. This is preferable.

The ship was great
The ship was great - cabin extremely spacious and comfortable, food excellent without exception. Crew couldn't have been more helpful.
The itinerary, although it had to be changed due to weather, was relaxed, with plenty of down time for exploring and swimming, as well as enjoyable and informative tours. (Ephesus was very busy, and maybe a bit rushed, but I would guess that's always the case).
Only slight quibble was the amount of machinery noise in our cabin when the ship was entering harbour, usually in the early morning. We were towards the stern on the lower deck, I don't think other cabins were as affected.
We'd recommend the company and the cruise.

Travel disappointment
The itinerary was great and the other passengers were friendly and great fun. However the travel arrangements were horrendous. The pre cruise departure place and times were changed after we had paid and so we had to book an overnight hotel at Heathrow at (exorbitant prices) and check in at the ridiculous time of 4.30 am. Due to stopovers the travel from Heathrow to Zagreb took 10 hours for what we understand is about a 2 hour direct flight from our local airport (Luton). We arrived exhausted and, not a little, angry, and too tired to enjoy our first evening on board. The return travel home was only marginally better.

Noisey Aussies…
The trip was 80% full of very noisey Australians who came into dinner in the same sweaty clothes that they had been wearing all day. The acoustics in the dinning room because of the low ceiling was so bad that we had to shout to have a conversation. Being a vegetarian , the food was appaling concidering the cost of the cruise. There was a bar b q day with nothing but meat and when asked the head waiter just shrugged. We wont be using Travelmarvel again.

I enjoyed the cruise of the Greek…
I enjoyed the cruise of the Greek islands. The ship looked a bit tired but the atmosphere, the guests and the food were enjoyable. Think in future the company needs to make sure the ground agents are aware of the type of guests e.g. probably seniors and adapt.

Exceeded expectations all round
After sailing in many much bigger cruise ships, I knew we were in for a different experience and my expectations were only moderate. However, the whole experience exceeded this significantly. The ship was petite but had all we needed. Dining outside on the deck was wonderful, all staff were great and the inclusions were much better than expected. An intimate and memorable trip.
