50% payment up front required to book a truck and two men to assist on an office clearance in Newcastle.
Had to cancel 48 hours in advance and was told that pre-payment is non refundable unless 7 days notice is provided.
No mention of this at the time of booking and 48 hours is plenty of time to redeploy a truck and 2 men in the removals industry. I ran commercial removal companies for 35 years and classify this as shady business practice!

Move estimated at £280 - Total cost came to £356!

Update: I have been refunded the extra amount that was charged, thank you Graeme.

I booked this company and got a quote up front estimating the move would take 3 hours. Total of the quote was £280. I paid £140 upfront for the move, which was scheduled in for 8am to 11am. The guys came at 8.30am since travel time is included in the quote too.

The guys were great. They asked me where I wanted everything and handeled everything very well. Very easy to get on with. The paperwork was quick and efficient, and they were very accommodating. We had oodles of time so they moved the TV and bookshelf, things I originally had anticipated I would be lumping in the car.

Then, after the move, I get an invoice from Two men and a truck for £216, taking the total from £280 for the move to £356. I complained to Graeme and he did some investigation as to why this amount wasn't as expected, and refunded me the difference.
