Outstanding service

I am impressed by the fantastic service which was delivered by the Unistellar support team.
In my case it was Anna who helped me and she did it in a fantastic, quick and very nice way!!
She did not only made a correct diagnose of my wifi problem but also helped my solving it.

Amazing customer service!

This is simply the best customer service I have ever dealt with: fast, efficient, helpful, patient..... and very kind!
This customer service is a major asset for this telescope brand.
They helped me fix a broken piece of my tripod - everything back to normal, fast and easy!

I was having a mechanical problem with the telescope. Unistellar arranged for it to be picked up and ultimately delivered a new telescope. I was very impressed with this level of commitment to service.

I made a mistake

I made a mistake. I failed to read the full description for payment options when ordering my new telescope and chose a method I was ultimately not willing to make payments with. The new scope had already been ship when I contacted Unistellar Customer Service. They (Anna) worked with me to cancel the original payment contract, (re) purchase the scope directly through Unistellar and not have to return the already delivered product. Most companies would have considered this to be a purchase with return and a new purchase. Through Unistellar's thoughtful and diligent efforts I was saved several weeks delay due to my error. By the way, this was an upgrade from my original EV1 to a new Equinox and the Improved image quality is fantastic. I highly recommend the newer scopes because of their capability to incorporate the new software updates. Images are sharper, detail I so much deeper and the new addition of color to the software was worth the upgrade.

difficultées de depannage

Un pied de mon télescope Equinox d'Unistellar a cédé début Juin 2024 et mon télescope est tombé. Une panne s'est déclarée, et plus moyen de m'en servir J'ai demandé le 18juin 2024 une réparation a Unistellar (hors garantie, même si mon télescope n'avait que 18 mois, mais c'est normal) J'ai envoyé mon télescope, et je l'ai récupéré fin Aout avec une facture de 650€(480+85 expédition). MAIS la panne n'est pas réparée! Je signale, et la réponse est que le service technique*veut bien, gratuitement refaire des test*(qu'ils n'avaient pas fait? !!). Nous sommes le 27/09, et j'en suis là! J'attends les instructions pour renvoyer le télescope.
Que dois-je penser de ce service technique?
Je n'ai plus d'espoir

Nous sommes désolés des dommages subis suite à la chute de votre appareil. Comme vous l'avez mentionné, ce type de dommage n'est effectivement pas couvert par la garantie. Cependant, lors de la réparation effectuée en août, notre technicien a remplacé les pièces endommagées et procédé à un réalignement optique. Le télescope a été testé sur le ciel et aucune anomalie n'a été détectée à ce moment-là.

Suite à votre retour, et comme communiqué récemment, nous sommes tout à fait disposés à réexaminer votre appareil à nos frais. Nous tenons également à vous rappeler que la réparation effectuée est garantie pendant 6 mois. Nous partageons votre préoccupation et souhaitons également comprendre l'origine de ce problème persistant.

Un enlèvement de votre télescope a donc été organisé pour le 4 octobre afin d'effectuer des tests supplémentaires. Nous ne manquerons pas de vous tenir informé des résultats et des prochaines étapes. Nous vous remercions de votre patience.

I wish I had checked other smart scopes before...

I discovered the smart telescopes with Unistellar. At first you are amazed by what you see. But after a while you get back to earth and realise there are (much) better products out there.

I had an evscope2 - quite expensive. We re talking 4700eur + solar filter 250eur.. it's a nice and impressive piece of equipment, qualitative but don't think about walking around too much with it.

First, the set up. It's much simpler than an old school telescope but it's also not that simple.
You need to do the focus manually with the Bahtinov mask (look for a start before) and every month or so do the collimation (which is not easy at all - I got it perfeclty right only once).

Then you start looking for a target and observing. It's quite nice for the Sun, the Moon and the biggest planets (Jupiter/Saturn can guess the rings) and a few of the most famous and visible galaxies and nebulae but for the more faint ones, forget about it. You will have to stay for hours and hours on the same target before even starting to see something.

And even for the easy targets, the resutls isn't really great. Pictures are quite low quality and pixel-ly. Very very far from the images they show you on the website that are all post-edited by pros.

Then, the eyepiece that you get on those ''expert'' scope are just a useless gadget since it shows a digital image, the same you see on your smartphone/tablet and if by mistake you touch the scope when watching, you can restart your observation.

I got very frustated as when I finally got the collimation right (after almost a year of use), they implemented some awful updates that created a lot of gradients on all the pics... luckily I managed to resell it fast and find a much better product with the competition.

If you absolutely want to go for a Unistellar scope, go for the basic Odissey even though it is still quite expensive, especially versus some competitors: Vaonis or Seestar particularly. You will get very decent images after only 15-20 minutes. All is automated and they are quite cheaper. And you can travel with those..

My advice: check the smart scopes available on the market, join the Insta/facebook groups of each brand and check images.

To quote an online review that matches my opinion quite well:
''’ve found the Unistellar eVscope 2 to be essentially an overpriced, low-quality device that has certainly disappointed me. I feel its marketing seems intentionally designed to target and mislead individuals with little to no knowledge of astronomy or telescopes, and it misrepresents fundamental aspects of how telescopes function and the performance one can expect from the product.'''

EVSCOPE2, matériel idéal pour l'astronomie d'amateur

tres bonne prestation du SAV UNISTELLAR, rapidité et efficacité

Possesseur depuis bientôt 1 an d'un eVscope2, je suis très satisfait du matériel de la qualté des imges et photos numériques. L'attrit principal pour un amateur est à mon avis la fonction GOTO qui permet de s'affranchie des complexes réglagles de localsation, d'autant plus que la precision du GOTO est excellente.

Fast replacement of faulty equipment

There was a strap on the backpack which ripped (not completely, but obviously it would come completely loose with the next usage). Replacement was sent quickly and so I am happy with this service.

Propriétaire d'un evscope1 depuis 3…

Propriétaire d'un evscope1 depuis 3 ans, je suis très mécontent de cette entreprise française qui n'a aucun respect pour ses clients. Depuis quelques mois, une mise à jours avaient totalement dégradée la qualité des images. La communauté des utilisateurs avaient très vite fait remonter le problème mais rien du côté d'Unistellar. Mais à force de râler, il y a quelques mois on nous apprend qu'une fantastique mise à jour prévue en octobre allait régler tous les problèmes et même améliorer très fortement l'expérience utilisateur. Mais très vite l'on a appris que cela ne concernerait que quelques modèles. Donc nous,avec nos "vieux" télescope (4 ans pour le mien et même 2 ans pour d'autres propriétaires), n'avons qu'à nous taire et accepter de n'avoir plus aucune amélioration. Cette entreprise n'a aucun respect pour ses clients.

Merci d’avoir pris le temps de partager votre expérience. Nous comprenons parfaitement votre frustration concernant les récents changements à venir, et nous tenons à vous expliquer l'évolution de nos modèles, y compris l'eVscope 1 (le tout premier modèle) que vous possédez.

Tout d’abord, nous voulons vous assurer que nous restons engagés à soutenir tous nos télescopes, y compris les modèles plus anciens comme le vôtre, grâce à des mises à jour logicielles et de firmware régulières. Ces mises à jour continueront d'améliorer les performances de votre télescope. D'ailleurs, en 9 mois en 2024, nous avons sorti plus de mises à jour que sur l'entière année 2023. Cependant, certaines innovations, comme la future technologie Vivid Vision, ne seront compatibles qu’avec les modèles plus récents qui disposent du matériel nécessaire pour les supporter - il s'agit d'une limitation hardware.

Nous comprenons que cela puisse être frustrant pour les propriétaires de modèles plus anciens, mais nous tenons à vous rassurer : des mises à jour importantes, comme l'amélioration des algorithmes de suivi qui améliorera significativement la qualité des images (notamment la réduction des artefacts circulaires), sont en cours de développement et seront disponibles pour tous les modèles, y compris l'eVscope 1. Malheureusement, nous avons pris un peu de retard dans le développement suite à quelques difficultés imprévues, mais nous restons engagés à fournir cette mise à jour en particulier dès qu'elle est prête.

De plus, nous restons engagés dans l’avancement de la science participative à travers notre réseau de télescopes. Avec l’introduction de nouvelles campagnes scientifiques, nous continuerons de repousser les frontières de la recherche astronomique, améliorant les capacités de nos télescopes afin de mieux comprendre l’univers.

Pour les utilisateurs qui se sentent limités par leur matériel actuel, nous prévoyons de proposer des offres exclusives pour un passage à un modèle plus récent, capable de supporter ces nouvelles fonctionnalités avancées. Nous communiquerons très prochainement sur ces options.

Nous sommes conscients que cette nouvelle peut être décevante pour certains, mais notre objectif reste de vous offrir la meilleure expérience possible tout en repoussant les limites de la technologie pour l'avenir.

Unistellar's customer service is best in class

Unistellar's customer service is stellar (no pun intended). I have bought several telescopes over the years. I needed support, parts replaced, and telescopes maintained. Their response time is excellent, and they make every effort to answer questions and work things out in case of problems with my telescopes. I highly recommend them.

Assistance très performante

Contactée à plusieurs reprises pour des problèmes techniques liés à mon manque d'expérience du fait que je découvrais petit à petit la prise en main de mon evscope, l'assistance a toujours été prompte à me répondre et m'a fourni la solution adaptée. C'est très plaisant de sentir une telle disponibilité et une aussi grand amabilité !

Unistellar is first of all an outstanding product. The image quality and ease of use is out of this world (punt).
