It's a bit scammy. You're buying a hat for around $40 which is exactly the same as something you'd buy from eBay or Temu for a tenth of the price. The hats took a long time to arrive and when they did they were in a plastic bag with Chinese writing all over it. It's basically an online drop shipping site that's overpriced. The hats were cheap but ok. Nothing what they looked like on the photo though. I tried them on once and laughed so I contacted customer support for details on where to return them. They said they cannot be returned because I've tried them on. I responded with the exact sentence in their returns policy that states you can try them on and still return them and they have never responded. I would advise people to just stay away and use Temu if you want cheap stuff.

Eight panel cap ordered, said to fit sizes 56 to 60.
Another Chinese made item.
Actual cap so tight at 59 it is unwearable. Colour also doesn't match website, being far lighter.
On the second attempt to contact them re a return/swap, was told that:
"This particular item is part of our clearance range, and unfortunately clearance/on-sale items are not eligible for a refund for change-of-mind or sizing returns"
Off to the thrift shop with it.
Never again from these guys. Waste of money.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS STORE! The wrong colour product (newsboy cap) was sent to me, it was a poor quality copy that didn’t even sit right on my melon. I ordered it on 14 July and it arrived 29 July. As of today, 18 August I have emailed customer service 6 times to organise a return and refund and still no reply. Avoid these guys like the plaque, their customer service is completely absent. Genuinely some of the worst customer support I have ever encountered on the interwebs in my 51 years. Don’t do it you will regret it.

Since order beanie from 9 of August and paid, haven't receive any confirmation email and shipping tracking numbers. tried to reach out customer service no respond at all. wrote email to them also no respond. it must be scammed.

I recently bought a couple of caps from Urban Caps; a Birmingham Cap and a Shelby Newsboy Cap. The Shelby Cap fits quite well and is well made. The Birmington Cap is too small and has no size adjustment. I have sent Urban Caps three emails as well as using the contact page on the website requesting an exchange, with no response in over 3-4 weeks. The caps are made in China and not in New Zealand. I suspect no response will be forthcoming and no exchange or refund possible.

Don't be fooled thinking it's a quality product I paid $40 for a $5 temu hat package came with no country of origin so more than likely drop shipped from China

My Wife Ordered 2 caps. Failed to arrive, tried tracking them on recommended system. No sign of them constantly informed order is being processed. Phone number given constantly engaged. The overall issue has been lack of communication and failure to despatch caps when order placed.
Finally heard from UrbanCaps. Have cancelled order and refund received.
Refunded within 2 days. 2 days later caps arrived after cancellation of order. Decided to keep caps and informed UrbanCaps. New invoice issued, New payment done.
Apology given for communication issue, no offer of reducing amount. CAPS ARE OF A GOOD QUALITY.

Ordered a faux leather beret and arrived okay. The beret was very small and emailed them for a return address. The email stated that they would contact you back in 1-2 business days. Emailed them again and still no response. Very unprofessional and would not order from them again.

These guys say their based in nz which is not the case. Shipped internationally.
Ordered 3 hats and only received 2.
Poor products, poor customer service.
Do not buy.

Ok, my experience has been varied. The product is ok but was different to what I expected. However they were quick to respond to my concerns and to be fair provided excellent customer service and a fair resolution. This gives ne more confidence and will result in further purchases from them in the future.

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE! No New Zealander would operate the way these people do. I got sent two hats that arrived wrapped in a plastic bag. The peaks were damaged and even though they are the same cap, different colour, same size, one is too small. I have sent 12 emails to them. All I get is an automated response. This is not a reputable company. Save your money. Go elsewhere. Terrible, terrible company that the NZ Commerce Commission should investigate.

Why?

Is it a New Zealand company? Could be registered as NZ but the products definitely are not. They clearly come from ‘overseas’.

Due to this the item took an eternity to arrive. Tracking was good but you can’t blame anyone for believing it’s fake. Tracking said my item was here but then it took 2 days to deliver to my home.

Item was sufficient. Reasonable quality but I don’t think this is the advertised item.

Will I use or re-order again, probably not.

I’ve been stung before (different site) that ran their site exactly like yours. Same ‘set up’, NZ site, great product images, multiple emails, tracking … all very similar. I can tell you it took days before i purchased … because it’s hard to know the deference between your site & every other ‘scam’ site. You want more sales? do something that really differentiates you from them. The ‘2 day delay’ of delivery (when viewing the tracking) was enough for me to not be a returning customer. That just my personal dislike.

Trust is everything when online ordering.

I am still waiting for my Cap which i ordered 2 weeks ago thinking it was being supplied from within NZ, however if as the reviews say it could be coming from China i will wait a little longer before contacting them.

Nothing but a scam. This is NOT a NZ site or company going by the snails pace of replies to emails and the wait for the items. Clearly this is just a ‘clip the ticket’ set up, even if the products exist, there is certainly no stock in the country.
AVOID, this is just wasting time and money.

I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. This company presents itself as a New Zealand-owned and operated business, but as other customers have noted, my hat was drop-shipped from China.

What I received was nothing like the advertised product—just a cheap, poorly made look-alike that wasn't even well constructed. The quality was so bad that I didn't even bother trying to return it; I simply dropped it in the bin. After reading all the reviews about them ignoring customer emails and calls, I wasn't going to waste my time chasing them for a refund.

Instead, I'm writing this review to warn others: do not buy from Urban Caps. Save your money and find a legitimate seller who actually stands behind their products.

Got tons of tracking emails, including one that claimed my cap had been delivered, which was rubbish! I sent them an email to their suggested address for any delivery problems, and it bounced back.
Don’t trust this crowd; they are scammers!
