This company is absolutely horrible!!
Do yourself a huge favor and use somebody else. I've been waiting for them to settle my gap insurance claim for over a month now, and never had this much trouble with other companies in the past. I've had to jump through hoops, sending them a ridiculous amount of documents. They take their good old time reviewing them, just to tell me that they need more. When I checked the status on their website it showed that they hadn't received anything, even though the person that I spoke to on the phone had confirmed that they did. I will remember this name and make sure to never use them again in the future.

You can never speak to a live person, you submit paperwork and have to wait 10 days and they still do not ever get back to you to let you know what you need unless you reach out first. This is the worst customer service I have ever received. Only companies who run shady services only allow communication through website or email only. It has taken over a month and still no movement forward on my claim. This company needs a lot of work to be customer service friendly.

I recently had to use my Portfolio One extended warranty for a major transmission failure and I was honestly scared after reading other online stories. I had never done a warranty claim before and didn’t know how it would go. My experience ended up being extremely positive. Portfolio One worked directly with the dealership, sent an inspector out, and approved my claim for a full remanufactured transmission. They covered parts and labor and I paid $0 out of pocket. No hassle, no back-and-forth, no delays. They turned a stressful situation into a smooth process and I’m very grateful. They earned my trust.

If I could give them a 0, I would. This company is the biggest joke ever. Don't waste your money because they will find an excuse to not cover your claim. That and they won't pay what the dealership charges per hour. HUGE WASTE OF Money!

Horrible company. This company does everything possible to ensure you will be in violation of your contract so they can deny your repairs.

Took our money then expected us to travel over 160 miles to the purchasing dealer location for every service. Even though we had regular service with records, denied our repairs.

Buyer beware! This company preys on customers by having their warranty expenses rolled into the price of the vehicle. Dealers get kick back. Then all your claims are denied so they never pay for a single repair.

I really hope they are investigated because this company is crooked!

BUYER BEWARE!: Shady practices and horrible customer service!

Portfolio/Assurant warranty company does not pay out what they’re suppose to/contractually obligated to. Payout department picks and chooses what they ultimately reimburse the customer for. Repeated calls provide little to no solutions. Steer clear. Shop around and consider other warranty/extended warranty companies!

UPDATE(March 8, 2024):
Coincidentally, after posting my reviews on various website including this one, my original reimbursement check that was already deposited into my bank account has now been reversed/returned. I am now owed a total of $956.61, assuming my bank does not charge me any bank fees/reversal fees/insufficient funds fees.

After speaking with my bank, they informed me that the account that the check was drawn on, PLAINS CAPITAL BANK out of Dallas TX., was “not found/does not exist“. Could this be because the account does not exist or, could this have anything to do with my reviews being posted around the same time?..

This is most definitely the worst experience I’ve ever had with any warranty company. Portfolio/Assurant, this is not the way to treat customers nor does this help your companies reputation.

I will be pursuing this further.
