Do not use this company!!!

Do not use this company!!!! I was told to move would be about $1,600 and once it was done it was $4,500 my property was damaged and moved in a hurry.... When I told the owner Julie about it she told me I would be paid $0.60 a pound for my damage to goods. They accept payments through RAFT also and will totally screw you out of most of the assistance that you are eligible for. You've been warned

Worst movers ever

Worst movers ever. Tried to charge us thousands more on move day, left 1/4 items off the truck, lost items in move and 1/2 furniture damaged on arrival. They refuse to accept any responsibility and offered $100 for the thousands in losses.

Bait and switched 3 different times

Bait and switched 3 different times. Left a 2700 deposit as they quoted me 8900 for a 300 mile packs and ship two days before the move, they said it would be an additional $3900. I asked for depo back they told they keep that if I cancel did you read the fine print? Finally there movers came and told me it would be an extra $3k this for a 2100 square ft 4 bedroom house that we had cleaned out all junk. One closet was basically empty.

This company ought to be shut down. I’m screwed but writing this for anyone how might consider using them off their “quotes” to get your first depo. Learn from me and please Florida aren’t general look I to them and shut them down as I asked you too! Run away people call someone else!

Vanguard moving is manipulative and dishonest.

Vanguard moving is a terrible, manipulative company. AVOID THIS COMPANY!
They asked for cash at every turn. Would not unload our belongings without cash payment. I had a local moving company come into our house in person, look at all our belongings and estimate a moving cost of $8000. Vanguard walked through and charged me $11,000. Demanded over $3000 in cash up front. I went to AmeriSafe who referred me to Vanguard. They would not respond when I asked why they were doing business with a crooked moving company. (Avoid AmiSafe also.) Vanguard still has my cash deposit of over $3000 that should be refunded. Their customer service told me:
“We’ll look into it.”
“We referred it to accounting.”
“I contacted the owner.”
Total nonsense. They still have over $3000 of my money.

Zero stars would be better.
Terrible movers. Our furniture was damaged and broken. No reimbursement. Came a day early, and double charged us.
DON'T USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE.

If I could put zero stars

If I could put zero stars, I would. I wouldn't use this company if I had zero choices, and this was the only one left. Not only Will rip you off, They will make a bogus accusations, Charge you for things that you didnt have, Horrible communication skills, It's their way or the highway. They lie about the quantity of items they're moving. Just don't.

When the mover arrived today to deliver my items, he was solo. That's against the law.

This is not a "moving company" They are brokers

This is not a "moving company". This is is a "moving broker". There is no "walk through" to see your items to get a better tally. I'm not a mover so I have not idea how they tally your items. You don't know who you will end up to move you & you don't know the charges on moving day as the "movers" have their own way of tally/charging. Their tally sheet makes no sense. Just item numbers, no description, no total count and who know what it says. Pickup was done on schedule. We fed them lunch. Then after they left, things got crazy...truck breakdown, delivery will be later, then we get a call they will be delivering but not till 7:30 pm. It's dark & cold. At midnight half the crew including the lead person left & we started unloading & unwrapping & putting together furniture because it was getting to be so late. The small crew left at 3:30 in the morning. 1/4 of the things were not put together & they were going to leave the packing trash with us. Our wood floors were scratched because they were so tired & didn't lift the furniture. They didn't use dollies or lifting belts. Items were damaged, however, we just don't want to deal with these people. Most did not speak English so it was hard to communicate. We have been moved by a relocation company 4 times. They use professionals. These companies are not professionals.

ZERO STARS

Zero is the rating this company deserves. They took my down payment after promising 1. They aren’t brokers 2. They don’t overcharge. Both are lies. They contract out jobs, they keep any down payment if you cancel, it’s difficult to get in touch with them if you have questions, and they charge exorbitant fees in the end. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!

Terrible COMPANY !!

Terrible COMPANY !!! YOUR Manipulated into thinking you’re getting a descent deal but what they quote you in the beginning is not what you pay. They try and rush you into signing a contract and then schedule you a quality assurance appointment which you have to list every item your moving and when you finally realize it’s gonna cost more than what you were quoted the tell you your past the refund window to get your deposit back. No integrity and lack any customer care

They pressure you with low-ball estimated costs to move then refuse to return your deposit after 72 hours when you find that it will be considerably more. Please also note that they record your phone conversations without notice or consent which is unlawful in the state of Florida. Florida is a 'two party consent" state that requires you to consent to the recording for it to be considered lawful. I would recommend filing a complaint against the company for those unlawfully recorded phone calls, even if it means you may not receive any recourse.

This company should be closed and made to refund everyone affected by their scams. We were quoted one price with a balance of $1,000.00 upon delivery. After movers in a u haul loaded our things were told we would 4,000.00 more dollars when out things were delivered. We ask them to take our things off the truck. They wanted to charge 200 dollars an hour for both movers. 01/05/24 an eighteen wheeler pulls up to our new location expecting to receive another 4,000 dollars. We don't that kind of money. They said they were taking our things to a storage facility in Houston and that we were responsible for paying the facility. The free storage only applied in California. So we are stuck with out our things, owing almost $5,000.00 plus storage fee. This is the worst situation. There is 35 years of family pictures and so many things that can't be replaced.

RUN FAR AWAY FROM VANGUARD! SCAM! SNAKES!

Vanguard Moving Services is a brokerage moving company. What I discovered is they play the greedy middle man and will say anything they need to make a sale! I don't know who within their organization is writing the 5 star reviews but those reviews are NOTHING BUT FALSE. Horrible company that is disorganized and full of LIARS! They are thieves that make fraudulent statements and double the price of your move just days before pickup and after you already give a down payment. I caught 3 employee's in 3 different lies because they told me false information just to make the sale. When I asked for things in writing, they back peddled fast!

I felt very comfortable with my move up until 4 days before the moving truck arrived. Vanguard did a quality assurance call making sure they had a list of all the items that would go on the truck; I added a couple small items like an ironing board, mirror, curtain rods, and three bar stools. At that point in time, after already putting down a $2,500 deposit and no way to hire another company in time for my move, they DOUBLED my cost from $4800 to $9600. They were trying to say I now needed a full truck…. BOGUS! When trying to refute this with customer service, they talked in circles and admitted to all the false information I was told during the sales process. Laura and Brian were very unorganized and often became rude if challenged. They couldn’t even keep move dates straight… horrible communication.

It gets worse! The moving company that Vanguard hired to actually move my stuff since they are just the broker showed up 6 hours late. BH Relocation Inc was very pushy and used personal intimidations efforts to get paid more. They demanded another payment on the spot. When I arrived in my new city, the company put out an ad and got one poor sole to unpack the entire truck himself. They broke a handful of items and the process to get reimbursed was a nightmare.

Overall Vangaurd Moving Services is a SCAM! SNAKES! They prey on people during an already stressful, expensive time. I NEVER would recommend this company to anyone. RUN FAR AWAY FROM VANGUARD!

SCAM DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

This is a broker company that will subcontract out the work to the lowest bid in your area. Two nobodies in a rented truck showed up to send my stuff into storage? Odd that it takes 3 weeks to do a drive it took me a day to do. The sales team is engaging in fraud there's no doubt about it. The low ball quotes are just that, low ball to lock in deposit. I've contacted the BBB

Stay away. Stay FAR away

I'm writing to express my deep disappointment for having selected your company after the lies that XXX sales person told me in order to get my business.

1. I was told that I would have exclusive use of a truck that would take only my things from my home and nobody else's
2. I was told that the same team that picked up my things would be the same group of guys dropping it off
3. I was told that I'd have a 26' truck by myself to fill up and no mention of additional charges for things that would fit in the truck
4. my bid was based on an insufficient estimate
5. I was told that I would have 14 days to cancel my order without a fee.
6. I was told that Vanguard would meet the competitive prices that I received the same day from other companies.

In fact, I received one bid for $2800 for a shared truck. Vanguard might not be a bad company but their sales people are.

I had reach out online for moving…

I had reach out online for moving services and this company called me to get a quote. Well when the customer service lady called me she was rude and hung up when I said I didn’t need services unless I can get them to move it there in three days. That is what I wanted to say before she slams the phone down. Well then I called right back and ask to speak to manager and the guy I think Bill answer and said he wasn’t going to bother his manager for no one who isn’t getting services and he hung up too. Well I want them to know now and later in future they won’t ever get my business because they are unprofessional from the start. No one want ppl to call and trying to do business and they get hung up on when they don’t want to buy or need services. This is why ppl get hung up on with nasty customer service ethics. Ugly attitudes at this company. Learn some ethics in communication.

Scam Broker, Lied on Sales Call, Hard to Contact

Summary: Fraudulent statements made by Samuel Wilson on a follow-up sales call after I initially rejected their first quote. Told me the delivery could take up to "10 business days" after I had given a "must receive by" date much earlier.

I spoke with Vanguard once in early August, and rejected their offer for $2300 and the dates proposed.

Samuel called me directly on 8/22. I told him about the earlier call, and he asked if we could make something work. I told him " If you'll do the originally quoted minimum price of $1800, as long as the items are delivered no later than September 10th, or at worst September 11th, I could have everything boxed and ready for pickup by tomorrow"

Samuel set me up for pickup on 9/8-9/9, and explained that the drivers can only go up to 500 miles per day so it would take 2 days and I would want to tell them to do a "Direct" delivery so they would bring the items directly to the new apartment when they arrived instead of having them potentially sit overnight somewhere.

I am now learning from the ACTUAL moving company Vanguard contracted - Northern Elite Van Lines - that none of this is possible and the delivery will absolutely not be there in time. I am now fighting to get my initial payment refunded, and getting no answer by phone or email from the company. I am going to reach out to the same attorney that settled my case against a former employer, and hold these dirtbags accountable. Look for a similar review on every other site on the internet, as I am just getting started.

STAY AWAY.

Would not recommend this brokerage company. The sales person was nice but that because they only wanted your business. They won’t tell you everything until moving day. There’s always extra fees! Once they assign a moving company, you’re basically on your own. And shout out to Justin with Vanguard, the main reason why I’m giving this company a 1 star, who did our quality/inventory call. This guy is the most unprofessional/rudest human being in customer service. This is our first time using a moving company and when we asked about tv boxes he immediately said “well the company ain’t giving you boxes for free”. This dude immediately assume we wanted “free” boxes. There was no mention about extra fees during sales call (that’s why we asked) and this guy didn’t even apologize for it. He kept saying “I don’t know”. Stay away from this company.

TL;DR - Vanguard LLC Bad

(Now that my refund has fully processed, I can write this review in full confidence. Be advised, its a bit lengthy.)

I'm not normally one to write reviews about anything, because to each their own, but after my experience, I felt compelled to do so: DO NOT WORK WITH VANGUARD MOVING SERVICES LLC (Boca Raton)!!! I was on a tight budget in finding cross-country movers. I had no support system where I was at. I was desperate enough to use this company so I can make this move as painless as possible, so you have to understand why I almost fully committed to this decision. Almost.

I spoke with one of their representatives, James Jackson, on my first call. He was such a pleasure to speak with and we even laughed and joked with each other as we made the preparations for my move. After a $646 deposit, my move date was set.

The next morning, I was trying to figure out how to edit my list of furniture, as there were some items I forgot to add, and for some reason I tried Googling my answers... and I stumbled upon something worse. The reviews for this company. All of my greatest fears were laid out in the open by other people who were unfortunate enough to follow through with this company. From broken furniture, to shady business practices, overcharging, and items lost/being held hostage until more money was extorted, my poor anxiety was on overdrive. Enough to start a panic attack.

Since James was such a sweetheart, I confided in him that I wasn't comfortable using Vanguard LLC anymore and I needed instructions on how to cancel... and his response was wildly unprofessional. Unapologetic, dismissive, and downplayed my concerns immensely. When faced with my uncertainty, he simply said "We'll talk later, I'm busy. I'll call you after my shift." and when I told him I wasn't comfortable with that (I knew about the sneaky 24hr warranty on my deposit refund and wanted it done asap, I feel like he knew this and tried to drag it out) he simply dismissed my concerns and said we'll chat soon. He spoke to me like a friend and not like a customer and that amplified my anxiety. Red flags everywhere and sirens blaring.

Normally, I just leave things be, but because $646 was on the line when I was already financially struggling, I refused to take it laying down. I called their customer service number directly and spoke to a nice lady (didn't get her name and didn't think to due to my panic attack) who was able to process my cancelation and refund with ease and professionalism. Thankfully.

Afterwards, to leave a paper trail (and as stated to do in their contract) I left an email for them regarding my cancelation. No response, but they can't say I didn't try. I even got an email from the REAL Vanguard Moving Services (Hyannis, MA) - back when I was trying to find quotes - BEGGING me to not use Vanguard LLC (Boca Raton) because they were mixed up with them all the time and getting THEIR complaints. Poor people.

Anyhow, for three days, I watched my bank account to assure no other illicit charges were made. To make sure my refund was processed. In the mean time, as fully expected, James did not contact me back. Not once. I knew he wouldn't. Which is why I'm glad I took it in my own hands to solve my concerns, something I shouldn't have had to do if this was a legitimate business.

In the end, I went with U-Haul and my family flew out to help with my move. This whole situation wore me out and I ultimately decided that I would trust my stuff only with myself, and no one else. I'm only thankful I mistakenly stumbled upon their reviews before fully committing. Please heed my warning, from someone who doesn't involve herself in many things, DO NOT USE VANGUARD MOVING SERVICES LLC (Boca Raton)!!! They gave me a vibe bad enough to cancel immediately and scream out into the void in hopes someone will be as lucky enough as me to not fall into their trap.

WARNING!

WARNING! Do NOT be duped into believing this is the Real vanguard Moving Company. They are not an affiliate. They give you a quote and keep upping it at every turn. They send a truck too small to accommodate the belongings you listed and charge for another truck, which happens to be ten minutes away.

Pick up and delivery dates change constantly. The movers have no idea how to load a truck properly. A twelve year old child could do better.

On delivery they will ask for postal money orders with NO payee name and cash! Or they won’t unload your delivery.

The broken, damaged and missing items is incredible.Most boxes look like they were dropped kicked. My husband is a disabled veteran and many of his medical needs are either destroyed or missing,

NO ONE will answer their phones or return messages.

Beware…this so called company outsources to very unprofessional individuals.

DO NOT USE SCAM

DO NOT USE. NOT A-MOVING COMPANY. They specifically said y were a moving company not a broker. Told me to never use a broker. In the end they got $8.000 dollars. Not counting $9.000 for movers to pick up, store and drive to my new home. Biggest scammers ever. How they are still in business is beyond comprehension. I wish I looked at reviews. Over and over people were lied to and lied too. Several days before they were saposed to come I had a gut wrenching feeling about this whole thing and called to get my money back and cancel it and they were rude and said I only get a company credit. I asked for a supervisor. They put me on hold for 15 min then hung up. They should be shut down. They don’t deserve any stars. Even a 1 star is too much.
