Nothing stands out as being particularly dreadful. But the man at the counter who took receipt of my bike for a service is just unimaginably rude to me every time I deal with him. He veers between condescending/patronising and terse/monosyllabic. I don't doubt his expertise, but a little in the way of good old-fashioned "customer service" would be so appreciated (more eye contact, less eye-rolling, the odd acknowledgement of the fact that customers are more than just an inevitable annoyance that you have to deal with in bike repair shops...).

I can't compliment the team at Velosport Putney highly enough.
I've been in twice recently, in October 2024 when I came off my bike on the Putney High street and they gave my bike the once over and assisted with getting it back up and running.
This week I was back with Steve for a bike fit (I'd also had one back in 2018 with him and have a new bike) and had stupidly pulled out the seat post and disconnected the Di2 battery.
The team were amazing, fixed the bike on the spot for a reasonable price and Steve was fantastic with the fit again.
The team are knowledgeable, friendly and I are happy to chat all things bikes. Just what you want from a cycle shop. If your local you can't go wrong with these guys!

I do not have kids. I have my bike. I somehow slightly seized my back thru axel and threaded the Allen key. Like an idiot. So after two sleepless nights worrying about the frame being broken. I had visions of the carbon fibre in tatters on the floor. BUT. Mario to the rescue after letting me know he got the thru axel out with no damage to the bike.

Mervin was incredibly helpful in fixing my pram wheels - made it seem no trouble and helped out instantly! Thank you

I turned up at Velosport with a stripped cleat screw and it would have been easy to ridicule my stupidity. Mario said it could try but there was no guarantee but he could try and would charge for the 15 minutes of effort. I was lucky that the cleat could be removed but I'd have been happy even if it couldn't.

I then brought my bike in to have the front cables shortening. The cables are perfect it's as exactly what I wanted, I almost shed a tear every time I look down at them. In addition to the work I requested things like seeing that my BB bearings needed servicing were also carried out (again with full transparency).

But more importantly was the advice regarding my positioning and how my attempts to reduce reach may have been misguided, in my case this is exactly the level of guidance I needed/need. I'm still working out the finer parts of my positing and will probably try the bike fitting.

My experience was so positive that I even ignore the bar tape design choice that I really don't like :)

Terrible service, AVOID. Ordered bib tights from their online store. Delivery was extremely slow, and even worse, the wrong model (cheaper and older) was sent!
Was told the model I actually ordered was not available. The tights they sent are supposedly “new”, but the tag was not even on it properly and it had hair all over the lining! So gross!
This was supposed to be a present for my friend, but because it came so late, I did not have enough time to return it and buy the correct pair from a different store.
They initially offered a refund for the price difference, but that was fake since they don’t even reply anymore. Still haven’t received any refund and am now stuck with these used tights. Avoid avoid avoid! Wish I ordered from somewhere else. Don’t even waste your time.

Seemed lovely to a first timer: I'm not a cyclist. I'm just trying to get in shape. I dusted off my bike for the first time in a while and had two flat tyres. I popped in to their Putney branch and bought new inner tubes.

The chap behind the counter seemed friendly, and on chatting about my inexperience, offered to show me how to replace inner tubes. How lovely - I thought.

After the 20 second demo, I learned he was now charging me £5 per fitting, which he didn't tell me beforehand. You've earned an extra tenner on me, but now I'll just not ever come in again...
