Was sold a system that would produce 132% of my energy needs

False warranties by a fly by night rip off company!!!
Back in 2017 I was considering solar panels and spoke to SunRun Solar. They informed me they couldn’t do it because my roof needed replacing so I elected not to do solar panels at that time. Fast forward to 2020 I redo my entire roof paying thousands of dollars and never had ANY ISSUES. Even before I replaced my roof, I NEVER had any issues! Now in 2022 I decide to allow SunRun Solar to install my solar panels. Now when I was speaking to the rep Jeffery Lin, he offered me everything under the sun to get these solar panels installed. He specifically told me that I did not need pest guards because I don’t have any trees. So they install my panels. They said I have a 10 year warranty if anything happens they will take care of it. Fast forward now my roof is leaking it has damaged so many items in my attic I had to throw away including two brand new tv’s I was saving for my move to Florida as well me the ceiling in my daughters rooms that paid to have repaired. I called SunRun Solar and informed them. They sent contractors out here and to check and seen I had 3 squirrels nest under my panels. SunRun informed me if it was do to the pest they would not honor the warranty because of pest damage but they have to remove the panels to find out. They removed the panels and there was absolutely NO PEST DAMAGE on the roof. Their contractor informed me it’s because of how solar laid the panels down. So now I ask them what is going on? They said they sent another contractor and he said it’s because of my chimney not because of solar. I informed them where my chimney is and where the leak is coming from is on opposite sides of the room that’s impossible. Long story short these people are out here taking peoples money and DESTROYING THEIR properties and are not taking care of ANYTHING!!!!! They are absolute CROOKS!!!!! And you should be aware and stay away from these people at all cost!!!!! They have cost me so much money in repairs and damages and lost of my personal belongings it’s RIDICULOUS!!!! They refuse to fix their mistakes! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!!!!
Salesmen lied over and over again.
Salesmen lied over and over again. Bait and switch on the payment. Wanted me to sign a document to start the site survey to see if our house was suitable. It was a loan document from goodleap. I showed them the door.
Solar panels installed thru vivint…
Solar panels installed thru vivint solar. They sold me a dream!! Go solar and no electricity bills! 30% tax rebate!! Cmon!!
They had solar installed thru 3rd party. Solar panels been a joke.. high electricity bills still!! Never seen any savings at all! I call Vivint to complain, but they dont have account for me?! They just brokered a 106k deal, took the $ and ran!! Stuck with solar loan and electricity bill. Stuck dealing with lame installers and the goodleap financing.. they need to come get this garbage off my house. Breach of contract somewhere in there. CONSUMER FRAUD!! I signed up with vivint solar, not some sorry solar installation company! Wierd how they would get me $106k loan without having a job!!
Vivint is the worst company to do business with
Vivint hasn't responded to any of my clients that I signed up through their terrible 3rd party installers with zero credibility. Not only have they not complete the installs after taking the clients money, they also haven't paid my reps or myself on any work performed. I have reached out to everyone I have a contact with at their company and no one wants to respond. Do not use them, they are a scam and will leave you with nothing!
Worst buying experience ever
I signed a contract with Vivint to have solar panels installed on my house on May 17, 2022. The sub contractor they have handling the install is Arrowpoint Solar. At first things were fine but quickly changed. It took several calls to their main office and my sales person as well to get my panels installed on August 24. They blamed all the problems on Oklahoma government offices as the hang up on everything. I understand that those offices are slow some times but a little communication goes a long way. Arrowpoint also sub contacted their job out so all they have done is coordinate everything and they have done a horrible job at that. On the day of the install the crew they sent out got here on time and ready to work(8:00am), Arrowpoint showed up almost 5 hours late with the panels. They also didn't not bring any of the wiring or anything else the crew would need. The installers had to come out the next day and pretty much do the the whole install because of not having the materials. After I get the panels installed I hear from no one for a week. I have to contact Arrowpoint so we can get an inspection done so the panels can be tuned onto the grid. September 20th I finally get an inspection done with Arrowpoint lead electrician and Oklahoma inspector and the inspections FAILS! Arrowpoint sent out 2 techs to my house on October 17th for repairs. They were there for 6 hours. I was told everything was ready to go. I was ill for a few weeks so I was unable to do any follow up calls with anyone. On November 7th I spoke to Arrowpoint to get my system reinspected. Of course none of them contacted me for this. They found out on November 8th that they needed to file updated permits/paperwork for the reinspection. I called again on November 11th for an update and they had just sent the permits/paper work that day. I finally got another inspection on December 6th. FAILED again for all the exact same reasons it FAILED the first time according to there newly hired master electrician. I also found out there at 5 customers having the same problems in OKC with this company from there own employee. I have gone round and round with Vivint and Arrowpoint. At this point no one will call be back. Not my sales person, project coordinator with Vivint, project coordinator with Arrowpoint, legal contact from Vivint who reached out to me to get this sorted. Both these companies are a joke to deal with. WORST BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!
worst company ever!!
Vivint solar has been the worst company I have ever dealt with. My mom originally signed the contract with vivint and moved to a different state. I now live in the house and paying for the solar services. When my mom moved we called vivint and had them transfer all the billing information and contact information under my name and added me as an authorized user. Since then every time I call in I will need to call my mom and have her give authorization again and again over and over for anything I need to do on the acct. this company is ridiculous and unprofessional. How many time does my mom have to inform the agent over the phone to list me as an authorized person and yet it’s never done!!
Paying utilities AND solar now
Signed up in may.. we are at mid-October and are still waiting on the inspection so we can get hooked up. Our rep quit so we have no one advocating for us as our local solar installer drags their feet and flakes on us multiple time. Now we are paying for utilities AND solar at the same time. We regret signing up. Don’t do it.
No call backs....all these…
No call backs....all these irresponsible companies are giving solar a bad name!?!
Very good and reputable company,
Very good and reputable company,
They are very honest and trustworthy
Scam Artists with No Soul!
I was forced to assume a leased solar agreement from vivint because we bought a home where it was tied to a lien on the house. Sure, maybe you save a little money on your monthly electric bill, but you lose it all instantly (plus some) when you have to replace your shingles. This criminal company installed the whole system on an aged roof in need of repair! Of course, the lady (previous owner) who agreed to this heinous contract was buying whatever lies the door to door salesman from vivint told her at the time so she agreed to put it on the roof. Now 3 years after the agreement was signed we need a new roof and vivint will uninstall and reinstall for $6000! Criminal beginning to end. Can't wait for the class action lawsuits--I'll either be bringing it myself or signing up right away! Called the team that gave me the quote and the agent said they have no problem installing on a roof in need of replacement--they just have to prove that at the time they install it is structurally sound. Who cares if they scam some elderly people who will need to replace their roof in 1 year? Well, I do and so does every other decent human being who isn't just another leech on society.
UPDATE: "Digital Engagement Specialist" told me to give him a time to call to follow-up. Didn't call me until a week later unexpectedly.
Second Update: They were willing to give me a $2500 discount on their removal and reinstall of the panels. So I still have to pay $3500 for criminal behavior. But I'm stuck and they know it because I need a new roof, so I signed a contract for removal. Took a week or more to get a removal scheduled. They were removed about two weeks after that. Roof went on immediately following. So when will they be reinstalled? I asked the folks doing the removal and they said the scheduler would call. Roof done weeks ago and no call. So I called and they created a "support ticket" and someone would follow-up with me in 5 days. A support ticket for the scheduling department to call me to set up the reinstall for over a month out?! What in the world? Why not just connect me with the scheduling department? So what can I do? I wait the 5 days. It's been over 10. No call. They don't want to reinstall these panels. I've e-mailed 3 times! They want me to pay for this? They want me to update my review to something better? I should never have to pay a dime for this sort of work. And the company that removed the panels was clearly a bunch on contracted employees paid on the cheap. Do you think I want them putting holes in my 50 year brand new roof? I'm definitely worried, but maybe my concerns are completely unfounded because they'll never actually get around to putting them back on my roof!
Third Update: MONTHS after we started this, I finally got the team to come out to start the reinstall. They installed all of framing for the panels but left at 3 PM stating they needed another two hours on a separate day to get the panels on. Seemed odd since they could have finished. But they blamed the appointment department saying for the size system it should have been a two day install. I explained that it had taken me weeks to even get calls back for appointments and that no one follows-up so I was concerned that I needed them to schedule another visit. He said, "No worries, I'll make sure someone calls you." Okay, well days later they send me an email with the appointment time for another several weeks out. Guess what? The day came and went and no one showed up, no one called. The system remains uninstalled. I am on hold trying to figure out right now how to get them scheduled, get these 35 panels out my side yard, and finish this horrible saga. Oh, and the kicker? Sunrun has been billing me for generating power these past several months even though there are no panels on my roof. They don't even know in their own company that the panels are removed and they don't think to freeze the charges. So I'm guessing this is another several hour saga to get those charges reversed.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
Update 4: So panels still not installed. But I get an email from their damage claim department that I've got an appointment set. I say, "There must be some mistake. I didn't file a damage claim." They respond by telling me the crew that came to install damaged my new roof and they need to come out to repair it! What?! They never told me they damaged my brand new $25,000 roof a few weeks after I installed it. They just sort of secretly filed this claim and now their team is going to come out to assess it? If you haven't got the message yet--stay away from this company!!

Horrendous Customer Service
The worst customer care I've ever encountered, after DMV. Trying to take over an account on the house we're buying, we need to update the name on the agreement, so had to email 5 different addresses, no damn answer. Attempted to call many many times, with no success. If you're VERY lucky, you can get a hold of someone on the phone, who is incredibly incapable of even understanding your problem, and also not even in the US. The people who answer your call from customer service are located in Phillippines. So imagine how much English they speak. The phone line isn't even connected properly. And it broke twice and I had to spend at least two hours only to get someone on the phone. Another woman answered the second time, I couldn't even hear her because of the wind noise, coming from her background. She also didn't even understand what I'm saying in English, let alone understand my problem. I asked her where she is, and she is also located in the Philippines. Unbelievable. Good job Vivint Solar. One star is even too much for you.

They are a Total scam!!!
They are a Total scam!!!! Do not do it!!You will sign your life away! This company is not honest at all
Vivint Solar (also called SunRun) is a company that will woo you into thinking they are customer-oriented, responsive, and helpful. Their sales-team is on the ball, ready to get you to sign their contract. When they talk you through the contract, it looks like a win-win situation. This is what they tout: "No up front cost for the panels You pay less per kwh than your local utility company! It's a win-win for the environment and for your utility bill!" I was so ready to do my part for the fight against climate change and start using solar energy, plus get a huge discount on my bill, but I did not read the fine print of the contract. You will sign your life away by signing this contract! Do not do it! Once you have signed their contract and the solar panels are on your roof, they forget about you. They didn’t even give me a Copy of my contract they said they would mail it. The customer service is unreliable and unable to do anything for you. Managers are unhelpful and never call you back. They use stall tactics. Here is the reality: 1) Your utility bill does NOT go down. It goes UP. You have to pay for all of the energy your solar panels PRODUCE. Not the energy that you CONSUME. So, if you live in a sunny climate, your panels are going to be constantly producing energy. You will PAY for this energy! Even if you are away on a trip, not using any energy. It's not what you consume, it's what the panels produce! 2) They say they will never place a lien on your home. You have to pay them for 20 years! And every year you will see a 2.9% increase. Which is way higher than any increase you will see from your local utility company. Eventually, you are going to be paying through the roof for leasing those solar panels from Vivint. 4) Your roof needs repairing? Forget it. This is where their customer service starts to fail miserably. You need to give them at least 30 days notice. You have to pay a fee to remove and reinstall the panels. You can never get a hold of them. Never mind if your roof is leaking. 5) If you move these are your options: a-you can transfer the system to the new homeowner, b-you can take the system with you, at your own expense and provided that your new home is located within their service territory AND where the sun exposure is not less than your current property, c-you can buy the system from them, whatever the price that they set! Bottom line, don't do it! They are liars and crooks, I felt pressured into getting a solar panels. After they Finnish putting the panels on they gave my number out within my permission. I was getting call from people wanting to know how I liked solar panels. I got tired of that really fast told them not to go with them and that they we’re not supposed to give my phone number out. It finally stopped

If I could give zero score I would…
If I could give zero score I would have. Been dealing with issues since September of 2020. Impossible to get through to customer service without waiting over 2 hours only to get disconnected. I finally used their website tool to communicate to customer service and no reply. Tried again, no response. My third and final message said if I do not get a response I’ll consider you are canceling and our contract is withdrawn. Haven’t heard anything for six months so I was glad to not have to deal with a shady and incompetent business. However last month I got a bill and I don’t even have the panels.
To preface, I had the panels installed a few years ago. I was disappointed that my monthly bill was more than my electric bill savings. At time of contract I asked what the “nominal fee” would be and I was told about $20. Fast forward, last September I had roof damage from a storm. The roofers couldn’t fix the problem unless panels were removed. It took me a month to get them removed and by then the damage was about 4foot. After several no- shows they finally came to remove panels for $500. Ok, that was fine
They told me I’d have to have them reinstalled. Ok, but it was impossible to contact them their crazy voicemail options do not address my specific issue
So when I got the ridiculous bill I was able to get through billing. They couldn’t help me and I ended up frustrated trying to get help. I contacted the better Business Bureau and they interceded on my behalf. Unfortunately when they followed up Vivint lied and said things were ok. Finally the BBb contacted them again and I actually got a voicemail from Brenda saying she would send me an email to set up a time to discuss. No email came. That was June 21 and still no response. Meanwhile since they told the bBB everything was ok they closed out my complaint
This frustrating situation has made me physically ill and relentless anxiety
I do not want to deal with them. Their business practices are insulting to clients.
I’m not giving up.

I would like to share my experience with Vivint Solar. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in their service and professionalism.
My husband passed away December 21, 2020. I contacted Vivint Solar of my husband's passing and they informed me of all the documents they would need from me. It was at this time they said they needed to send someone out to inspect my panels and I scheduled with them to come out Jan 5, 2021. The serviceman said it would require a Technician to come out due to there was a short. I told him okay please disconnect thevsrrvice due to I didn't want to chance a fire if there was a short and he said he did.
I then made another appointment for January 29, 2021 and after spending half the day waiting I get a call that the Technicaln called in sick and they needed to reschedule. So they made an appointment for February 2, 2021. When the Technician arrived he informed me this required him to get on the roof and he was not certified to get on the roof and I needed to reschedule. My appointment was then scheduleded for March 18, 2021. The Techniciann shows up and he informed that he was on doctor's order and had not been released to access the roof and needed to reschedule. So I contacted Vivint and they rescheduled for March 24, 2021 and it was a no show. So again I reschedule for April 19, 2021 and the Tech said he needed to order a part. I asked how long does it take to get the part. He said about 2 weeks but due to COVID it might take an extra week or so. Nothing for the whole month of May. Finally June 3, 2021 Vivint came out and installed the part. Now remember I'm dealing with the death of my husband and being inundated with all these inexcusable appointments.
Today June 15, 2021 I receive a call stating I'm passed due on my Vivint account for $715.00 dollars. I told them my service had been disconnected and the customer service person said, she was sorry for my loss but I owed this bill. I told HER I DID NOT HAVE SERVICE AND WASN'T PAYING FOR SOMETHING I DIDN'T RECEIVE. After getting no where with her I told her they could come get the panels and hung up.
If you are considering solar I highly discourage Vivint Solar.
UPDATE
Vivint Solar contact me 6/16/2021 after seeing my review and PROMISED ME a Tech would be out tomorrow 6/17/2021 @ 8 am on the nose. So today at 8am I get a call from the Tech and says they are going to be an hour late due to his partner got held up talking to a manager. UNEXCUSEABLE. Now rescheduled for June 22, 2021 at 8am

DON'T USE VIVINT!!!!!
Vivint is by far the worst company of any kind I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. They installed panels on my roof in no time and cashed their check quickly. 6 months later I still have ZERO electricity generated and no timetable for when I might possibly have my system online. It is impossible to talk to anyone who knows anything about anything. They are a scam, not a company.
UPDATE: Vivint says they are sorry! That’s their solution to our issues. Crazy how that hasn’t helped or changed anything. No one is in charge. Don’t use Vivint!

Absolutely no desire on their part to finish their solar installation. We have 30+ panels on our roof and 2 wall batteries installed 6 months ago that do nothing.

Adding myself to the list of very unfortunate souls who bought into the con man/salesman presentation. “Bill will go down. You were accepted for free solar because of your high energy bills. We’re going to put enough panels on to bring your bill as close to $0 as possible.” Surprise! Bill has gone up. Paying more Vivint than SoCalEdison without their panels. Being out of work because of COVID-19 for a year is capped off by being scammed by Vivint. There is certainly a special place in Hell for them. Stay away folks.

We have saved nothing
We have saved nothing. My bill is the same after the panels were installed. When we review usage on the app, we actually have higher usage on days we aren't even in the state and no one is home. I tried to contact them multiple times to explain that. They refuse to answer, saying the account is in mu husbands name. But my name is on the deed to the house. How do they refuse to talk to me when I am on the deed to the house and was present during the process?
I had to call multiple times to get the automatic payment straightened out.
HORRIBLE customer service. And I honestly feel like I was scammed. The bills is not less than when I had electric, and now we are stuck with them.
