VW T Roc R line 2022

I waited 4 months for delivery of a VW 2022 TRoc R line .. 6 months later .. I’m taking it back, giving them the keys.
And I don’t wish it returned until the fault with the drive assistance is rectified.
I’m tired of the on dash warnings, but more over the fact of the alarm bell that goes with it . 36 warnings in a 25K trip.
My life is too short for this crap.
Always owned a VW since 1997 and loved them .. would i purchase another VW.
I would be afraid too !
To much tech and and service technicians scratching their heads .
Fortunately I have another vehicle, this VW TRoc is a nightmare.

Should've listened to previous…

Should've listened to previous owners/reviews. The common megatronic was failing on my car. Checked history and discovered it was recalled and completed 2 years ago 2021. VW Dealers and VW Aust will not fix under their "good will policy". I find it unreasonable for an expensive unit to only last two years. Their reason given , "Car(2013) was too old".

total disgrace for customer service

The TRANSPORTER 6.1 was delivered June 21 by Southern Volkswagen in Reynella SA.
Serviced there on 7/3/23.
31/3/23 brake pad light came on- phoned the service manager and was advised that 8mm left on the pads at time of service. We agreed it to be a broken sensor cable. No problem until the next service or the other warranty work that needed doing.
5000KM later pads are to the metal on passenger side but 5mm remaining on drivers side.
Southern Volkswagen refused warranty claim.
Contacted VW Australia and spend last 2 days talking to them.
1 missed call (while I had rang them back)was the only
call back I received.
Apart from patronizing (We are sorry to hear about your problem, have a nice day ) they are useless.
Their only purpose of employment seems to be to shut down any complaint about their dealer ships

BEWARE of buying a VW - VW AUS Customer Service is the WORST

I’ve been an incredibly loyal VW customer and brand advocate for the last 10+ years. In fact, we have had two Golfs in the household for the last four years, after I bought my son one too. Since Dec 2021, I’ve experienced THREE major and one minor issue with my Golf TSI highline. The warning lights and notifications have been exactly the same each time, but the issue has been diagnosed as something different each time by the VW dealer. First it was the Mechatronics, then it was loose wires (probably caused by the dealer who replaced the Mechatronics) and then the clock spring, which totaled $5k. Last month the same thing happened again, but this time the dealer told me the steering column module needs to be replaced, which will cost another $4k. I’d imagine the odds of ALL of those issues occurring within that short space of time would be extremely small, especially since the car only had 110,000kms on it when the issues first appeared. So, either the car is an absolute lemon or the dealers are being less than honest with their customer. Anyway, I’ve tried repeatedly to talk to someone from VW Australia, but despite repeated promises that a supervisor from their overseas call centre would call me back, NO ONE has been in contact with me. In fact, the whole customer service experience has been by far the worst that I’ve EVER encountered. Being hung up on twice wasn't fun. Being forced into a loop between VW Aus, dealers and VW assist as well I have to say is possibly the worst customer services ever. To say that I’m disappointed and frustrated would be a gross understatement. I have been without a car for over a month. The dealer wouldn't even extend my car hire unless I agreed to pay the $5k to fix. So, safe to say don't waste your time with VW Assist either - get an independent insurer. Also, there is no way to make a complaint. The website says there is a form and there isnt. The only way to go is via VW customer team and well...they do not escalate anything or give the opportunity to start that process. The list of terrible "service" I have been given is a lot more than what I have written here. So disappointed.
If you are considering a VW vehicle, I STRONGLY urge you to reconsider and choose another brand. I will NEVER buy another VW again as they are simply not honouring major faults in the vehicle, nor misdiagnosis of the vehicle which has resulted in me being out of pocket a lot of money that I could have spent on a new car.

VW Sutherland should not be in business

I am absolutely disgusted and appalled at the service I have received from Volkswagen Sutherland. I have owned a Tiguan since 2009 (purchased new and meticulously looked after and serviced by them).

I took it in for repairs (diagnosed by them for a fee of $200), the repairs cost $4,223 to fix an oil leak. They never fixed the leak, I ended up having to take my car back a total of 4 times within a few short weeks and the last time I dropped my car off to them (23rd January) they kept my car for good.

During a 5-week period they did not provide me with updates and it was only when I told them that I have gone to NSW Fair Trading and NSW Ombudsman and have also shared my story with A Current Affair and The Project that they called.

They claim that my car, while in their possession this last 7 weeks, suffered a fatal engine failure which was reported to me last Monday and was given a quote of $15,400 to fix.

Volkswagen has a legal obligation towards me as per Australian Consumer Laws. I want a full refund of the $4,223 because the repairs did not work AND compensation of $14,000 which was the market value of my car prior to them killing it! On top of that I had to register my car in December and never got to enjoy my car. I am seeking compensation for a total of $18,223.

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT VOLKSWAGEN PERTH AU

Sadly not for the first time am I disgusted with Volkswagen.

I own a 2021 Volkswagen Amarok with under 20,000km on the clock.

This is my 5th Amarok and 12th Volkswagen, so I am a very loyal customer.

My Amarok sounds like a tractor, because apparently it has a faulty camshaft, now these things happen occasionally, even to a quality Marque like Volkswagen, but it is how you are dealt with when there is a problem that tells you everything about a company.

I use my Amarok daily for work, most days I tow a trailer, sometimes up to 3.5 tonne in weight.

I have waited since December to get the issue diagnosed, it was diagnosed in mid January, however won’t be repaired until 20th March, so far this is inconvenient, but not the end of the world, despite the fact that there may be tiny metal shards peeling away from the camshaft and floating around the engine causing even more damage ( I would not want to own this vehicle when the warranty lapses, good luck to the next poor sod!! ).

However today I find out after waiting for an answer for 4 weeks, Volkswagen Australia will not supply me with a similar vehicle whilst the repair is carried out, so obviously they expect me to sit at home and not work while they repair my vehicle.

This is a Commercial Vehicle, as stated by Volkswagen in all their literature, but apparently they don’t care about me or my business.

Sadly I will not be purchasing another Volkswagen, and I would strongly advise other people to consider whether they purchase one.

Volkswagen are happy to take your money, but don’t give a S**t about you after they bank your money.

How the Quality Marque has fallen, maybe I should buy an LDV next time, much cheaper, possibly better quality, and I bet they look after their customers better than Volkswagen.

Great cars to drive - hindered by quality issues and terrible customer service

- Absolutely loved this car for the first few months, until the never ending infotainment glitches started!
- Car has been back to the same dealer over 6 times for the same ongoing issues
- the dealership have been great, they’ve replaced all wiring, head unit and steering wheel
- the niggling issues continue (including loosing sound for days after a loud ‘bang’ from the dashboard area - this happens all the time)
- escalated my concerns to VOLKSWAGEN AUSTRALIA - who have the world’s worst client engagement and communication process
- after months of repeatedly asking their offshore ‘level 1’ team to have someone based locally call me and listen to my concerns, I finally received a call
- Unfortunately the VW representative was rude, abrupt, abrasive and totally refused to actually listen to me or show any sign of empathy at a minimum
- She aggressively threatened to end the call whenever I attempted to express my utter disappointment with my purchase and my experience to date
- The only option that was offered was for me to go back to the dealership (again)
- In addition, I’ve been advised that my brake pads and rotors will need to be replaced after a mere 15000kms, at a cost of nearly $1000! VWs response to my request to cover the entire or part of the costs under warranty - the issue must be with your driving!
I would highly recommend against purchasing any vehicle (not to mention a luxury family hatch worth over $45K) from a manufacturer whose products have way too many annoying quality related issues - which they have absolutely no interest in resolving permanently or keeping their clients happy. You need to lift your game VW AUSTRALIA.

Not given the facts?

On arriving to collect my Polo following its 3 year service from VW Marochydore I was told it was complete and reception was just waiting for the paperwork. During the next hour I was assured several times the service was complete although the reasons for the delay changed to include things like the vehicle was undergoing a quality check. Having lost confidence in the reasons forwarded for the delay I decided to check the workshop for myself. The reason for the delay was obvious. All the Service staff except one were sitting round on their lunch break and my car was still on the ramp. On asking no one know who was servicing my car or if it was ready. I was told to talk to reception. Given I had been talking to reception for the last hour I was not confident the “left hand knew what the right had was doing” Anyway the direct action did the trick as my car and the paperwork arrived at reception 2 minutes later. I appreciate it is difficult to give an exact time when a service will be finished but given I was assured my car service was complete it would not have been too difficult to bring the car round from the workshop with the paperwork rather than make me wait an extra hour. Being told the facts would have been a much better plan. For example “the service staff are on lunch break but I will get some to bring it round for you”. (perhaps some staff trading is needed) Was the service a good experience? NO. I was certainly made to feel I did not matter and could be told anything to cover up what was really going on. It would take a lot to convince me to use VW at Marochydore in the future.

IMPORTANT REVIEW!!!

IMPORTANT REVIEW!!!
I thought I was buying a quality brand, but my new Tiguan has been an absolute dud in every way. Getting VW to respond or address the many serious problems has been extremely bad and beyond frustrating.

Here's a brief summary of faults, followed by Volkswagen Australia's dismal handling of my car's many faults....

• Tiguan splutters and won't travel more than 40 kmh.
• Tiguan suddenly dies while driving along and rolls to a stop.
• Despite this, the Tiguan's diagnostics showed the the car never broke down!!
• Cruise Control is outright dangerous, the Tiguan frequently brakes suddenly on freeways and I've nearly been rear-ended so many times. On two occasions, I was nearly rammed by large semi-trailers. It's incredibly dangerous, and puts myself and my family at serious risk.
• The Tiguan's sensors continuously loose the plot over absolutely "nothing". You can be stationary and suddenly all the sensor alarms go off. The Tiguan regularly slams on the brakes when attempting to crossover completely flat driveways. Turning right into a petrol station is risky because sometimes the Tiguan suddenly slams on the brakes as you approach the completely level entrance leaving you stopped in the middle of the road with oncoming traffic breaking to avoid hitting you.
• The auto stop/start has left me stranded in the middle of the road for 5-10 minutes on numerous occasions.
• The Tiguan's gearbox is all over the place. The gear changes are long and sluggish, all over the place with poor gear choices. The car frequently refuses to change down a gear when needed, it flounders about and there's long delays as it tries to work out what gear it should be in. The gear box often makes clunky jarring sounds. The car frequently jerks and lurches. The Tiguan has tried to take off from a standing start in 3rd gear again putting me at risk of being hit by oncoming traffic!!
• The entertainment unit intermittently dies for about 5 minutes. No music, no navigation, no cameras.
• The clock will not hold time and every day it displays a new random time.
• The auto parking refuses to work, it finds a parking spot and then reverses straight past it – not even attempting to turn into the parking spot.
• Recently the Tiguan refused to move forward, "the car fought with itself" refusing to rev beyond 1100rpm and refusing to move forward at all. (Captured this incident on video!!)
• One time when it broke down I called VW Road Side assist. Unbelievably my call (about 6pm) went through to a message service asking me to leave my details, which I did. VW Road Side assist never called back and never sent anyone - EVER!!
• I have written multiple detailed emails to the dealership (Doncaster VW) to both the Service Manager and the Dealer Principal and have never received a reply despite follow up emails over a 12 month period.
• I even reported the dealership to VW Australia to investigate my complaint, and they did absolutely nothing.
• Numerous emails to Volkswagen Australia detailing the above faults are completely ignored. They have not responded now for we'll over 6 months despite numerous follow ups!!!
• VW Call Centres refuse to escalate my complaints, refuse to let met speak to a supervisor, and refuse to let me contact Head Office.

VW Australia's customer service is beyond bad, it is absolutely disgusting. Their whole system is configured in a way that prevents you from getting anywhere. It seems impossible to move beyond the call centre or to talk to some at VW head office who can actually do something.

Yesterday I spent over 90 minutes on hold waiting to speak to someone at VW. All up, I wasted 4 HOURS on the phone today just trying to get someone to take some sort of action. They still refuse to let me speak or deal with anyone at Volkswagen. You cannot get past the call centre, and the people there NEVER do anything or get back to you.

My Tiguan is an absolute disaster, and from where I stand I believe VW have been completely immoral and negligent in their handling of my car's many serious faults. But then again, this is the company that deliberately cheated and deceived millions of people around the world with their disgraceful diesel emissions scandal.

Do yourself a favour and DO NOT buy a Volkswagen. Read the reviews about how VW handle their customers complaints, and the way they handle serious faults with their cars. It's highly disturbing, and frankly, I believe the ACCC should investigate them.

Absolutely horrendous.

I’m writing on behalf of my mum who is paying off the 2018 Vw Golf she had bought from VW Brisbane Australia, from the start customer service is absolutely horrendous, so disrespectful and aggressive and they do absolutely nothing to help. During COVID 19 my mum lost her job and wasn’t able to pay much of anything, she had called Vw to try sort something out as she couldn’t afford the $600 a week anymore, she had called about 4 times a month and was always waiting up to an hour for someone to pick up so she would always leave a call back, my mum did not ever get a call back in the 4 months she couldn’t afford to pay her car and the one time someone picked up after 5 months!!!! Of trying to get hold of anyone she received an email saying her car is going to be taken away because she’s behind $5,000 on payments. She sent emails, phone calls, text messages and nobody ever tried to get hold of her and after 5 months they only send an email to get hold of her, the woman who picked up this phone call was horrendous, she was swearing at my mum, threatening to take her car away if she did not pay $1,500 In dept a month not including the $600 she pays for the car a week. My mum hung up the phone because she was being so disrespectful to her and threatening her when all my mum was trying to ever do was sort out her payments. My mum further agreed to a hardship form, Because she could not afford her car which then accumulated to a PAYBACK LOAN and had taken away the value of her car, they did not at all ever mention any of these things when taking out the hardship form and then they further threatened that they would not buy the car back one she’s paid all of her car payment and car dept off, after that my mum has been paying $1100 IN DEPT NOT INCLUDING HER $600 A MONTH SHE USUALLY PAYS FOR THE CAR a month for 2 months as that was all she could afford and then further received an email for her to call them. So today, she called in, we went through 3 people who were the bitchiest people I have heard in my life, the first woman we talked to didn’t even listen half way through what we were saying before saying ok let me transfer you and just straight cut us off and on to the next person, then we were taken to another member of the team and she had explained that she had received an email to call them back and then they had asked about my mums work and my mum was discussing how she’s struggling and she can’t afford much but she’s been really trying to pay the $1100 which she has been paying, then mum was saying to her that everyone was being so rude to her and nobody has called her back since leaving call backs and this lady was just saying mhm mhm mhm not even words and she literally said to my mum well that’s not our problem pay up or we will take the car away and then she cut my mum off and transferred her to another person!!!! The last man was an absolute disgrace just like all the other 3 we had spoken to and the lady before obviously had told him my mum was very upset because as soon as we picked up he was so so so rude to us, he said ‘ we can come to an agreement ‘ and the agreement was to pay the $1100 she had already been paying otherwise they would repossess the car!!!! They are absolutely the most useless piece of crap company and she or I will NEVER buy from VW ever again...
