Absolute joke to work for you have to be a yes person and expect 55hrs plus some weeks and phone calls on days of and when on annual leave don’t care about who they employ management is useless and not meeting the needs of the residents

NEVER WORK FOR THIS AWFUL COMPANY

My Fiancée works for Voyage supporting 2 gentlemen in a team of 6. Currently, they have no employed night staff for their apartments and are relying on agency. My fiancée and her team have worked 15 hour shifts then been expected to wait around hours on end to find out no one is coming in. On every occasion this has happened no one from the on call team has answered the phones or been able to find someone to cover. My partner and her team are exhausted and mentally drained. This company do not care about their staff one bit. If you want to be working all hours of the day, being paid minimally and expected to do everything then work for voyage care. Disgusting treatment of their staff.

I am horrified at how they treat some…

I am horrified at how they treat some of the residents my sibling being one of them has been harassed and severely assaulted by another resident and nothing has been done about it sie is in hospital for the umpteenth time this time getting a c.t scan because of a head injury all the previous times is because of their downfall in mental health because of this resident it seems as if one rule for her and another for my sibling as my sibling tested this theory and coipied destructive behaviour and payed the consequences whereas the other resident gets away Scott Fred time after time and should of been done for affray also during lockdown the same resident was allowed visitors but my sibling wasn’t was the same for the other residents they were allowed visitors too but the staff denied this even though I whitnesed said residents getting visitors they said I was seeing things and maybe they were dropping things off i urge anyone not to work for the one in Blackpool peters court it is a joke some of the staff even reported being scared of the assaulting resident and is a danger to others so much she needs 2 on 1 support and my sibling 1 on 1 when out all together and it baffles me why she should be allowed to live there when also she has assaulted even a man who is wheelchair bound and has said death threats and no thanks to her shouting in street that my sibling has corona my siblings social worker despite sie getting a negative ordered another test that came back negative still believed the resident in question and isolated sie for 10 days which the duration dates kept changing so please reconsider if you think of working for voyage

People you support are great but sadly…

People you support are great but sadly company isn't. Your over worked and under appreciated. Your made to feel your part of a team until favouritism takes over. If your face fits your fine if not then your made to feel like an alien. I worked there for 5 years in hope things would improve, I managed to do OK and became a senior where sadly the work load is ridiculous for the pay, management work aswell to take ease off them! Some good points where can have cup of tea or coffee on shift from them but if you want a break unless you smoke don't expect one. Management make you feel your listened to one minute but then next don't act on things properly. Other good point to this though I met two managers one was a deputy in my time there who were great, but two isn't enough to make a huge difference. Pay is terrible aswell.

I have worked here for just over a month now and I love every minute of my working day here.
The management are so caring and supportive
My work team are exactly that a team we all work together.
I wake up each morning excited to be going to work, not every shift is the same but that’s what makes it exciting.
I want to go home knowing that I’ve made a difference to someone’s day.
I put my 100% love and care in my job and those I look after.
If you have that passion for wanting to help others also.

I did work for voyage for nearly a year a year…

I did work for voyage for nearly a year waiting to start at a new service in Doncaster but because of covid didnt take off so we were sent to fenny lodge rotherham that was great management and staff I then wanted to move nearer to home which is doncaster so got tranfered and that wasnt for me 14 hour shifts I didnt sign up for that and was told that's what they do there so I now have had to leave which is a shame .

Before applying for Voyage.

Before applying for Voyage, I suggest you do extensive research by reading reviews from previous employees. I used to read reviews of Voyage and shrug them off until I experienced first-hand what it was actually like working for them.

Firstly, when you’re an employee for Voyage you receive zero support from the get-go. You get thrown in at the deep end and expected just to swim. For a company who suggest they care there is zero compassion for staff and sometimes the people being supported.

Voyage is a business and once you work for them you immediately becomes very clear, it’s always about money and budgets and targets and quality of care goes out of the window and ultimately people suffer because of this.

From my experience at Voyage, inexperienced people are promoted so quickly that the teams end up being a bunch of inexperienced people not knowing what they are doing. Even the higher up management just don’t seem to know or understand what their job role is. Managers of services receive no support from the ops managers and are expected just to get on with it. The only redeeming feature was that I made lifelong friends due to us having to band together to survive. That creates an unbreakable bond.

Finally, you’re not allowed to speak up, if you dare speak up about something you’ve seen you’ll be bullied into thinking the way you ‘should’. Voyage is a horrible company and the staff turnover in the services is proof enough, my time working in Voyage I saw new staff every month because people couldn’t bare working for them. I strongly suggest you read all comments from previous employees to get a true picture of this company who supposedly promote care and show none.

Voyage have been so supportive…

Voyage have been so supportive throughout COVID-19 and provided us with so much information to keep our staff and PWS safe.
i have worked for the company for 11 years and couldn't imagine working anywhere else.

I currently work for Voyage care

I currently work for Voyage care for the past 5 years from support worker then senior into field support supervisor. I have learned more with Voyage care than ever in my 17 years working in the care industry. It does have it challenges at times but we work as a team to to resolve any situation. I’m a proud member of the Kent DCA team with my manager Lucie who has always been there for me throughout my voyage career. I always enjoy teaching my support staff and being there for them, and people supported.

I have worked for voyage care for 10…

I have worked for voyage care for 10 years this year. I was offered alternative positions due to management seeing my potential in certain areas , i have been promoted since then and feel supported by the managment and the team i work with . Voyagecare are all about making the lives of PWS better and live as independant as possible.

I am extremely impressed with voyage care as a company. The recruitment process was really thorough, this gave me the confidence that they weren’t just taking anyone on. Mandatory training was extensive and informative. The Manager and field support, have good professional boundaries. They are very approachable and available to support you, answer any questions or concerns and also provide additional training if needed. The thing I like most about voyage is the person centred approach they have with the service users, who are considered as individuals. They are constantly empowered to make choices for themselves, giving them self worth. I am part of a fantastic team, and look forward to doing anything I can to improve the lives of the vulnerable people we support.

Recruitment have no idea what so ever. Waited 8 weeks after being offered a position still no start date. Management terrible. No communication. Would not work for this mess of a company ever. Stay clear guys

No communication

No communication. No I'D .no consideration for users or staff ..service very good until someone moved the goal posts 18 months ago and really bad changes .which upset service users and carers also . .that is why so many staff and service users leave.always sorry and appoligisI when things go wrong. .support and care is about people not money.
