5 years later - still great!

I had the internal bifolds 2.7m finesse installed 5 years ago and they still look and function like new!

The customer service is also great, my cats damaged some of the seals round the edge of the door and Vufold aftercare just sent out some replacements for me. 5*!

I’m extremely disappointed with my…

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience. The door I purchased arrived damaged. When I contacted the company to report the issue, instead of offering help or taking responsibility, they blamed me and asked why I didn’t check it immediately.

As a customer, I expected a damaged product to be handled with basic professionalism and accountability. Accidents can happen during shipping, but the way this situation was handled shows very poor customer service. Being blamed for receiving a damaged item is unacceptable.

I would not recommend this company based on how they deal with issues after the sale.

As this review is the same as those posted on three other platforms, we unfortunately do not have anything further to add to the response below which has been previously provided to you.

To begin, we must state that we do not hold an order or any record of dialogue in our system under your name. However, due to the specific nature of the issue described, we believe we have identified the case this refers to. We can only view this as an intentional attempt to damage our hard-earned reputation rather than a constructive report of a genuine customer experience. We have thousands of customers who have shared 5-star experiences regarding our premium products and dedicated service; if these reviews relate to the order we suspect, we are sorry your experience has not been the same.

There is, however, important context to this case that must be shared:

The damage was not reported until 3 weeks after delivery, despite our clear guidance to inspect goods within 3 working days, and before installation, to protect you.

Far from placing blame, our team was simply attempting to establish the facts of the situation to find a way forward. In initial communications, it was stated that video evidence of the damage being present at the time of delivery existed. Despite our repeated requests to review this so we could assist further, we were later advised that no such video existed as there was no damage noticed on delivery. Furthermore, before we were even given the opportunity to investigate the issue, a request was made for a partial refund or discount. It was later claimed the damage was only noticed when the installer was ready to fit the doors, 25 days after receipt. This timeline creates significant uncertainty as to when and how the damage actually occurred.

We will always go above and beyond to rectify our own errors, but we cannot accept liability for damage reported over three weeks late and after the products have been handled for installation.

We are sorry that we have been unable to meet your expectations in terms of a resolution.

Aluspace internal sliding doors

I've ordered 2 sets of sliding internal doors and a fixed screens to go with them. I was looking forward to having them installed as I believed they would enhance the look of the interiors. However Vufold does not really care much about aesthetics and to my huge surprise they manufactured the doors with the beading for glazing to be on the outside of the rooms. So the nice looking size is hidden inside and on the outside is the less attractive looking side with beading. I was sent pictures from their showroom where the doors are installed the way I'd want them and that's what I thought I was ordering but I'm being told that the showroom pictures don't matter as they are just an example! Well yes, an example which I based my order on. No one informed me that the beading will be placed on the outside, which is the opposite to what I saw in showroom. And now I'm being told that no error was made and if I wanted the beading on a specific side I should have said that. But that's not what's really bad about this company. The worst bit is that they are not even willing to discuss how this can be rectified and I'm being told that if I want to make alterations I need to find someone else to do that for me as they won't. A very disappointing after care and a lack of consideration, especially that rectifying this wouldn't be complicated at. It only needs drilling a couple of holes and swapping a positioning of the rollers. I even offered to pay for making these alterations but the answer was still 'No we don't do this'! All is needed here is a willingness to do so, but Vufold does not care and is not willing to help. My request was simply dismissed and it seems that I will have to install the doors the way they came and be utterly unhappy with them after spending nearly 4K! I'm pretty sure writing my review here won't help me either as I bet these are not being reviewed by anyone else but the same people from the after care team, which makes them look even worse as usually companies try to rectify problems on such forums to show other potential clients that they care. Well Vufold policy is 'WE DON'T CARE THAT YOU ARE UNHAPPY, NOT OUR PROBLEM'. Be cautious when ordering products from them!

Response to Vufold after reading their response below. I was clearly and repeatedly told by after care that no alterations will be done by Vufold and I'm only expecting information from their production team whether the way I think it can be altered is advisable, that's all. This is the only option Vufold gave me, which is finding someone else who would be willing to do the alternations, so I don't believe this is an early stage for writing this review and that the investigation to find the solution is in progress. I was left with no indication that Vufold will rectify the issue and alter the doors. If I receive the confirmation of that I will gladly change my review as that will drastically change the level of my satisfaction, but that did not happen. So, please don't mislead the review readers. No threats or insults were made, just an expression of frustration and disappointment for the lack of willingness to help with this issue. Vufold manufactured the doors and I would expect Vufold to make it right and leave the customer happy but no such thing has happened. The request to make the alternations was dismissed and refused repeatedly, which is a shame, as I do believe this could have been resolved easily with a bit of willingness from Vufold's side which unfortunately it lacks of.

While we always strive to provide excellent service, we must address the nature of our recent telephone conversation. At Vufold, we have a zero-tolerance policy regarding personal insults and threats toward our staff; it was for this reason that we were left with no choice but to terminate the call. However, we have continued to communicate with you via email to ensure we still provide assistance and work toward a positive outcome.

Regarding the design of the system, it is important to note that internal doors differ significantly from external ones. With an external door, there is a functional necessity for a defined "inside" and "outside" for security and weatherproofing. With an internal door, there is no natural "inside" or "outside" as the system sits between two living spaces. Because of this, the beading is designed to be aesthetically pleasing from either side and matches the sleek profile of the system.

Our showroom display features a combination of fixed screens and sliding doors, which shows beading positioned on both sides. If a specific orientation was a critical requirement for your project, this is something that should have been highlighted during the ordering process.

We have many happy customers who have installed this exact system. Nevertheless, we are sorry for your disappointment and, as promised, we are investigating the technical options available and will be in touch once we have a full update from our production team.

The product Monza 2 composite door is…

The product Monza 2 composite door is of exceptional quality, really pleased with the product, I ordered a custom size door due to the width and height being non standard, I ordered and payed for the door at the maximum height that was available 2130mm, however after paying for the door and sidelight I was advised that they could not make the door to that height and would need to add a 50mm add on to the top of the door, which was very disappointing. The pre order enquiries I made were responded to quickly and to my satisfaction. The ordering process was simple as was the web site navigation. I suggest they make it clear though that they cannot make a door and frame to 2130mm without an additional 50mm add on. So I would recommend the company as the product is excellent, well protected for delivery and looks great now fitted, but my recommendation would be based on either a standard off the shelf size or a door height maximum of 2080mm.

You’re absolutely right that composite doors have a standard maximum size, and any additional height or width is typically achieved through frame add-ons or fixed glazing panels—this is common practice across the industry. In your case, when the low threshold option was applied to your order, it reduced the available frame height, which meant an additional 50mm add-on was required. Other factors such as cill types or full-frame thresholds can also influence the overall height. We’ll review how we present this information to make it clearer for customers upfront.

We sincerely apologise that you weren’t aware of the height adjustment requirement earlier. As soon as it became apparent, we contacted you at the earliest opportunity to explain the situation. We truly appreciate your fair and constructive review and apologise again for any inconvenience caused.

Extremely disappointed- paid almost…

Extremely disappointed- paid almost £5000 for a sliding door only for one panel to come damaged.

Whilst Vu gold sent me a replacement panel-I have had to pay someone again for fitting.

I should not have to pay again to have the door fitted. It’s caused a lot of hassle and stress also as no one wants to fit part of a door.

We do try to get everything right first time and are proud to have received thousands of positive reviews across various platforms from happy customers. Unfortunately, on this occasion, we were let down during the quality control process by our glass supplier, and we’re very sorry that this impacted you.

Your order was specified for loose glass, so when the faulty pane was reported, we replaced it immediately on the same basis it was originally supplied. We’re disappointed to receive a 1-star review, especially as the issue was resolved several months ago and we haven’t heard from you since.

We also note this was a trade order, which is designed for trade customers who are installers. That’s why we’re a little confused about the mention of paying again for fitting. We do appreciate the value of your order and believe you have received everything you paid for. For clarity, we acted quickly and efficiently to resolve the problem by replacing the glass panel reported as faulty—not a full door. If the original glass was fitted, the replacement would simply need to be swapped using the same method.

A good Experience and Quality product.

We ordered 2 7ft bifold doors from Vufold. The doors were outer doors leading onto our patio. We were very pleased with how the transaction was handled.

We found Vufold via internet search and liked how the products were presented but to be certain, we telephoned the company and found them very helpful, answering all of our questions.

We were telephoned by Vufold when the doors were due to be delivered, and they were delivered on time. The protective packaging was good and the labelling was helpfull when we came to install the doors. All this backed up by an easy to follow installation manual and video, which made the installation easy.

The quality of the doors iare excellent, working as they should and they blook great.

We had an issue with some beading that required us to ask Vufold for help. The communication in this was excellent and they sent out one of their support team who rectified the issue very swiftly.

Conclusion, great doors, good service and a product knowledgeable team.

We need a couple of Composite doors in the near future and will buy them from Vufold!

Product Damaged on Delivery and no timelines to Resolve!

Having read reviews of Vufold products, overall it seems a fairly safe bet to order one of their high end aluminium doors. 6 weeks after order, the delivery day came and this is where significant issues started. Two delivery drivers could not lift the door out of the van and rather rolled it into the Garage shredding the packaging. Now although the foam was intact, it crushed some of the corners but also poor QC as other issues were found. Dealing with their customer service team has been awful, no clear outcomes and no replacement is to be sent out until they fully assess the door. We're nearly 4 weeks after delivery date and the door was just picked up (the customer service had the cheek to say delay was longer as the item hadn't been picked up even though I'm working full time).

This has set my project back significantly and causing delays to other parts of the renovation. Complaints are also dealt with my the same people in the customer service team so there's no real escalstion point. Team have not provided the timelines of a replacement door. No outcome yet and still waiting for the new door to be delivered.

Aluminium Entrance Door

Today, we finally fitted a Smart Signature door with side window from VUFOLD. Luckily, my builders made it work besides the height difference - the door arrived 25mm shorted due to a misunderstanding about the cil option.

The door is very good quality and it arrived very well packaged, whit the fitting and cleaning kit. It was only 1 week late , so just over 7 weeks from ordering, which I think it's not bad.

The fitting instruction was useful, but far from comprehensive. At times we found it har hard to follow. We had to figure out some specific details, but it in in about 6 h as out builders were experienced. A video showing how to fix these door would have be a great help.

It took us some time to figure out the auto slam lock. At the beginning we thought that the lock is faulty. There is a short information about this in the brochure (hidden at the *** footnote section in a drop down menu) and mentioned in a sentence in the maintenance brochure provided, but not explained. It took us a bit of time to figure out how it works. We didn't know if the two hooks and the deadlock is actually closing, but figured it out with the help of the web.

All in all, it's a good quality, well made and secure door. I liked the configuration options in the website - even if in the end it registered the threshold/ col option wrong. There is a very good level of configuration option without being overwhelming.

We are very happy with the long handlebars in both sides and the colour choice are very impressive too. Both the grey, textured finish and the flat, yellow finish look like they are very high quality 🤞.

We are very happy with the product, but would recommend to make tripe sure that the height and width will fit your opening. Make sure you to understand how the threshold is fitted and fixed and if the overall height is measured with or without the cil!

Customer Service / Aftercare was responsive, but not overly helpful over the issue regarding the 25 mm shorter door. I was in touch with James, who did not accept responsibility over this issue, besides I check the right cill option (low threshold) on the online confirmation, I sent a copy of my design (obviously showing that there is no need for a drip cil and also asking to amend the order form with low threshold.

It seems unusual to fit the the threshold over the finished tiled surfaces, rather than run the floor finish into some sort of a frame/profile. Lucky our builder found a solution to this.

I would recommend this product to people who have some understanding on how to fit the door as it can be challenging to understand how it will fit, especially as the technician information provided is lacking basic information. I obtained ap proper technical drawing of the low threshold from another company who was selling Smart Signature Doors.

But the product is very good and company seems reliable enough. I wish them luck and hope that they will improve their service.

Regarding the cill and overall height, we do apologise for any confusion. Before processing any custom-sized products, we rely on the final signed-off order paperwork, which in your case confirmed that a cill would be supplied. We’ll certainly review how this information is presented to ensure it’s even clearer for future customers.

We also appreciate your feedback on the fitting instructions. As the door is pre-hung, installation should largely involve securing the frame into the opening, but we understand that clearer guidance can make a big difference — especially for more technical aspects. We’ll look into improving this and implementing changes to support smoother installations.

On the auto slam lock, you're right — these are becoming increasingly popular for entrance doors due to their security benefits, but they do take a little getting used to compared to traditional multi-point locks. Excellent after-sales service, a year after purchase.

Really fast (and helpful) response to my enquiry, and incredibly fast delivery (less than 24 hours) of the door maintenance kit I ordered. Very satisfied overall with the service.

5 Star ***** Customer Service

About 10 years ago I decided to purchase a set of Oak Bifold Doors and I wanted them to be top hung and around 5m wide. So, I set off to “The Grand Designs” trade show at the NEC in Birmingham, with the sole purpose of selecting the best quality doors at a reasonable price. There were probably 3-4 suppliers that I considered but Vufold won my order. Nearly 10 years later, the doors open as easily as the day they were installed and apart from a little exterior preventative treatment, they have been relatively maintenance free. However, this weekend the door latch started to stick. Which is not surprising as we have 2 dogs and the doors are opened and closed 20 times a day, especially in the cold seasons. Anyway, I emailed Vufold customer service requesting the part number for the lock, so that I could order a new one. Within an hour, Tom from customer service emailed with a series of requests, which included taking photos & a video of the faulty latch. The Bottom line, within less than 24hrs after my email discussions with Tom, a completely new locking unit was delivered to my door.
An excellent set of Bifolds with 5 star customer service.

Great communication throughout. David the sales manager was very helpful and honest with his advice before our order and Francesca was brilliant in keeping us informed about delivery date and time. Customer service was friendly and very pleasant to deal with. Thank you guys, you're awesome!

I write to confirm the customer A follow up review for the night latch refund issueservice…

I write to confirm the customer service proactively contact me again via email saying they have just confirmed to refund the defective night latch unconditionally. Fairly speaking the door itself is in good quality but only the night latch is found defective so i return within 14 days grace period. I was shocked this straightforward refund turns out being complicated. Nonetheless their response is swift and finally treat it fairly. The refund will take 7 days so i will wait and see with another follow up review after.

Thank you for your follow-up review and for acknowledging our efforts to resolve the issue with the night latch.

We want to clarify that if items are returned to us as defective, we carry out an investigation to determine the cause of the issue. In this case, we needed to seek further advice from the hardware supplier, which we informed you about and agreed to reply back to you before the end of the day. Following our internal investigation, we found the part to be defective and agreed to issue a refund.
