Manager poor
Manager poor. Let everyone stand outside. Not impressed. Been a customer since they started nearly 30 years ago. Oxford.
Food was OK but!
Food was OK but seemed like just a collection or warmed vegetables. Service was good at the start but, on reflection, too sharp witted for me as my group got loaded up with stuff we didn't really order but got coerced into buying like prawn crackers and expensive bottled water. Frankly I could have eaten at a higher class outlet for less money and we wouldn’t have been on bench seats sat next to noisy strangers. Won’t be visiting again in a hurry. Also once service agent had taken all they could we felt of no further relevance or worthy of attention.
Bedford slow service
Bedford. Slowest service ever. Atrocious
WAGA-NAH NAH!
I remember going to the fantastic Wagamama’s in Bond Street 30 yrs ago and being a regular customer in various branches across the Uk. 13 yrs ago I had my child who fell in love with Wagamama too, choosing it as a venue for all her bday party meals etc. We’re now in 2025 and over the past few years I have slowly watched the quality and QUANTITY especially, go down tremendously. The Bao buns used to be stuffed to the brim with crunchy aubergine and overflow with mushrooms..we used to all order our own portions because they were too good to share! Now they give you half a slice of aubergine and 2 sorry little slices of mushrooms! I had to wash the empty, COLD bao bun down with my juice. Oh they even got rid of the carrot and ginger juice..something I loved so much. The duck donburi bowl used to be my favourite but now they give you a tonne of rice and a few pitiful pieces of meat. I’ve tried many dishes over the yrs.. the portions are becoming smaller, the veggies fewer the amount of protein..minuscule..ridiculous, extortionate prices..what a huge huge shame. The last meal we had by the O2 was the worst one yet. A kilo of rice with hardly any veg or protein..they have clearly been told to put less of everything but sadly they don’t realise they are losing their loyal customers. We have spending power but want quality and adult portions of protein and vegetables. Our new favourite is Tombo. Never going back to Wagamama unless the greedy person in charge who made these changes for the worse gets replaced with someone who actually likes food and knows what people expect when they go out for a meal. So sad. Sort it out before it’s too late!

Dangerous food preparation and false advertising.
Ordered make your own tofu donburi. All ingredients I chose were listed as vegan and suitable according to their allergen list.
However, there was prawn in my tofu dish, so not vegan and a major allergen.
If you value your health, avoid Wagamama St Andrew’s Square and Lothian Road.

Rip off
We ordered our food to pick it uo from
Fulham Broadway restaurant in London.
Spentc£34 for 2 noodle soups. One just vegetables, the other beef. We expected good portions given the price.
But they were miserable. Mibe had 2 sluces of mushrooms, 3 strips of pepper and few leaves . Very little noodles.
The other was also very poor.
What a rip off.
And we had to wait for 30 minutes after the given collect time.
Horrific Service
Horrific Service. What a joke. I’m not one to complain or make reviews but this was shocking.
Where to start ?
Me and my girlfriend came to the reading Wagamama’s store for some light food and a drink on a quiet Sunday. I ordered a tofu pad Thai and my girlfriend ordered some gyozas. We were not told anything about separate delivery times and haven’t been before so didn’t know how they operate.
We tried to order drinks on the menu but all apart from two drinks were not being served as the “ menu was changing “. We proceeded to order the only available drinks and were asked for id. ( fair enough as we are in our early 20s )
The drinks came and they were amazing. Though mojito served in a gin glass is not normal.
My pad Thai came quite swiftly, but I had to wait 20 minutes for the gyozas to come. I asked a couple of staff to check on where they are. No reply. I also had to ask multiple people for cutlery and sauce.
When the gyozas finally came I asked for them to heat up my food and complained to why it didn’t come at the same time. I was replied with “ we don’t do that at Wagamama and you should have been told”. Which is understandable. If I knew then I wouldn’t need to write this.
According to my gf the woman’s toilets are also gross, one of then were clogged and a sink had toilet paper all over it. The floor was also covered.
In the end we paid and left. It’s upsetting that a lovely Sunday had to take such a shameful turn.

Extremely overpriced for standard food
Extremely overpriced for standard food. Sadly my Wagamama days are over.

The restaurant I thought had closed down but found out it had moved to a shopping centre in Aberdeen. Was excited to eat one of our favourite comfort food since it had first opened. Food is dry tasteless and extremely overpriced for the major reduction in quality. Gutted another quality food outlet is now just another investment company scam so sad.

Overcharged using a difficult app with inflexible service
Whilst the staff were very friendly, redeeming a free starter was not as straightforward as I was told and once you have paid there is nothing in-store personnel can do to help. I have always been a fan of wagamamas but this visit to Cannock Retail Outlet has put me off !
Poor quality food
The food had no taste and is very much overpriced. I strongly recommend avoiding this place. This is not proper Asian food.
Plymouth -appalling service
An appalling level of service from this branch - PLYMOUTH
We came on a Monday night and it was not busy, so no excuses for how we were treated.
My wife ordered a simple chicken & noodle dish. She waited 20 mins.
The first thing to say is that clearly Wagamama have cut their portion sizes by 25%. The half breast portion of chicken hidden amongst the noodles was so over cooked my wife had to ask for a knife & not use chopsticks, which we like to do, as she simply couldn’t even break the chicken apart.
We pointed this out quite politely and were told, “the chicken is all pre cooked” .. which is terrible (a Chinese chef would put that dish together fresh in around 8 mins) .. so no surprise the chicken was so very dry.
The replacement dish took another 15 mins, so now we’ve sat for over half an hour and still not eaten.
Meanwhile our teens been waiting for her meal, which took another 15 mins to arrive ! - a hour - that’s not acceptable - but they don’t care, as there is no consequence and nobody even came over to apologise for this fiasco.
When I politely complained again about the overall service, I had no empathy, I was just given a defence and an attitude, and so WE were made to feel wrong for questioning the service.
After all this I felt it perfectly in order to request an adjustment to the bill and was astonishingly told, “what for?”
My reply was, “you expect your customers to pay their bill, right?
And for good service, it’s polite to leave a tip, right? - so that door swings both ways, for bad service with an attitude, I expect an adjusted bill, not an argument, so kindly bring me one.”
(I’m a business coach and sales trainer. It’s mandatory to request an adjusted bill if the service received warrants it)
Now here’s the issue -
They employ kids to run restaurants.. youngsters who simply don’t care, have little experience to none, who are probably more worried about the fact that they haven’t checked their mobile messages since their shift started.
This trend is rife amongst hospitality now in the uk - employ kids for minimum wage.
Companies like this are trading on their name. But customers are abandoning them, including me. I’d never recommend them -
I ll never use them again, I’m done with Wagamama
🌟 Pre-Opening Visit to Wagamama prestonPreston…
🌟 Pre-Opening Visit to Wagamama Preston – A Lovely Experience!
We visited the brand-new Wagamama in Preston today as part of their pre-opening trial, and it was a genuinely lovely experience from start to finish. There were four of us, and we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who clearly explained the offer and made us feel welcome right away.
Inside, we were shown to a spacious booth—plenty of room and a relaxed vibe. We were told upfront that food is made fresh and may arrive at different times, which was absolutely fine with us. The server taking our order was a bit nervous (understandably, given it’s a trial run), and there were some hiccups with the tech system, meaning he had to input our order twice. No stress—we reassured him that now’s the perfect time to iron out any issues, and he seemed to relax with a bit of friendly chat.
The food was delicious, and we tried a few dishes we hadn’t had before. Everything felt fresh and well-prepared. The environment was welcoming, the toilets were clean and accessible, and we never felt rushed. It was a calm, enjoyable meal with great company.
Special thanks to Richard for sorting out our offer and making the experience smooth. We’ll definitely be back once the doors officially open!
Regrettable experience
My friend and I visited The Springs restaurant in Leeds. Not a great experience. Ordered my drink - Passionfruit Paloma. Came back saying they couldn’t make it. Ok. Next choice -Pad Thai Sour. Can’t do that one either. Riiiight. Settled on the Margarita.Edamame beans took ages to arrive - came out after our mains. It’s literally microwaved beans in a bowl - why did this take so long? My main was the Coconut Kare with vegan chicken. For some reason was missing the tenderstem broccoli. So had to ask for it. We were a bit fed up by this point. We checked the Wagamama Soul app to see a message saying our bill had been paid?!? We thought it was odd but maybe as they knew we had been unsatisfied they had comped our meal? I thought we may get something free as a goodwill gesture as we had dealt with several staff members who were aware we were not happy but by no means did I expect the entire meal would be free. We asked and alas this was definitely NOT the case! Apparently this is a glitch in the app, where it may say the customer has paid when they haven’t! Bizarre and definitely should be fixed. Also because of this error we didn’t get the stamp. Not that it matters as I doubt I will ever return. Pretty overpriced and was over the whole experience after the broccoli was left out of the main.
Joined their Soul Club - what a waste of time
Joined their Soul Club, but what a waste of time. I am still chasing Wagamama as 2 stamps missing but nobody gets in touch. Have tried again to contact them today but their form has encountered a problem so will not send - and there does not seem to be an email address or telephone number.
Ended up with food poisoning!
Recently went and ordered a pad Thai with tofu as I try to avoid meat if possible. I thought the Tofu was quite chewy and tough - maybe because it was fried? It was also quite salty. Usually I order one of the curries and the tofu is very soft. Told the server at the end and he said he’ll tell the kitchen staff not to serve the tofu again! Unfortunately I ended up with food poisoning with and awful fever and stomach cramps for days!! Doubt I will ever order or think twice about eating there again!
