Have lost trust in Walgreens

During the past week I have made an appointment at a St Louis Walgreens for a shingles vaccine twice. Each time, I received an appointment confirmation from Walgreens and thought I was all set, and planned my schedule around it. Then, each time, the next day I received a message that the appointment was cancelled. I called the pharmacy to ask why this happened twice and was told that location was not currently doing vaccinations! Yet the website accepts reservations for that location! You spend 20 minutes each time filling out the required health history and personal information not realizing it's a scammy waste of your time. Add 15 minutes on hold trying to speak to a staff member to find out why appointments keep getting cancelled. I no longer trust Walgreens after this deceptive, time wasting and thoroughly annoying experience. Walgreens has gone downhill significantly over the years.

Slow service

Slow service! We called in prescriptions and don't think that next day service would be too much to ask, but apparently it is now! We were informed that the scripts would be ready day after tomorrow! Thank God that we have enough on hand so as not to run out between now and then! To add insult to disappointment, our local Walgreens Pharmacy is closed on Saturdays now too! Don't bother trying to have a script transferred to another local pharmacy that is open on a Saturday! When a script gets transferred, their electronic prescription management system captures the change to the new location -- and KEEPS it there! -- that is until you go through some more rigamaroll to get it transferred back to your preferred location! Apparently Walgreens system is incapable of directing a 'one time' or 'single use' transfer!

I went to Walgreens pharmacy today for…

I went to Walgreens pharmacy today for my appointment to get the flu shot. And the pharmacist said that my insurance won’t cover it. I was not happy. I had no problem last year and years before that my insurance covered my flu shot at Walgreens. I think the pharmacist is a liar. I called my insurance and they said that it is covered. The location is 7130 S. 76th street. Franklin, wi 53132.

I strongly suggest using a different…

I strongly suggest using a different pharmacy for your prescriptions. My local pharmacy puts me on hold when I call for over an hour and I finally hang up in frustration. They use Uber for deliveries and charge extra. They refuse to take any responsibility for deliveries left in the walkway where anyone can steal them. I am afraid a child will get a hold of it and get ill. I called the complaint desk and was sent back to the pharmacy. After several days and many attempted call I talked to a technician. They said there was nothing they could do. Since I didn't have a question they couldn't help me.

Wrong Medicine Given out to us!!

We recently picked up some prescriptions for my wife at the Walgreens Pharmacy at the location of 7410 N. Clark St. in Chicago.
We picked them up as usual at the store when ready(which is a whole other review on horrible service) but for now let's stay to this review at hand.

So, in returning home as my wife is now putting away her new prescriptions she looked at the one bottle of which had a completely different name on the bottle here, ______ Hill and my wife's name is not even close to the name on the bottle, and her name. This is just plain sloppy, careless & reckless work. The incorrect prescription just so happens to be in color, and shape the same as one of hers that she takes, so our main concern is had she not looked closely at the bottle and start to set up her meds for the week ahead and not realized she would or could have been in great danger by ingesting a medicine NOT for her, and who knows what the consequences may have been in she took the wrong medicine?

We immediately returned to the store the next day as scheduling and time permitted to point this out to pharmacy clerk and she was like kind of dry, and with a who cares attitude or what is the big deal kind of reaction! Rather than oh my GOD or showing some kind of real concern for the safety of their customers.

She showed nothing at all, and her colleague/fellow worker also seemed unmoved by this here. This is becoming quite common in our workplace today with this careless, thankless, and no compassion or desire to exceed what is expected from each one of us in doing our work. But in this case it is much more serious for they (Walgreens) are distributing medicine/drugs out to the public with what appears no safety net or anything to catch a huge problem of this nature. You know when big pharmacy worry about this? When someone is injured and or possibly hospitalized due to their reckless/careless behavior.

Choose another outlet for all of your prescriptions if you need to or have to take here, there are much better options. But more importantly we as the American buying public need to demand change with all of the companies in the market place today.

We have become accustom to now accepting below average or subpar performance from all of these retailers, and they want to escape with a simple little no feeling whatsoever of a "I/We are sorry, of which means absolutely useless with no changes implemented into the system.

When will these giants be held accountable. The service at this location is terrible and not to mention the outside is unkept and looks horrible! But here again who cares for they simply are not paying attention to presentation or their quality of their stores..

Drug insurance claims

Not sure true for all locations but Elk River MN is truly bad. I have a situation where some of my medications are Workcomp paid. After the first go around they told me I have to call them when a medication is submitted and tell them to bill Workman’s comp. Or they will bill Medicare. Because it’s a controlled substance issued for Pain it need prior authorization. My Dr notes on the prescription it’s a WC claim. I call the store and still they try to bill Medicare. They say they can’t process the prescription until it’s due. Medicare denies it. Walgreens Texts me and says insurance issues delay in filling the order. Or they say out of stock can’t fill. Will call when back in stock. I have gone to the store personally spoke to the pharmacist, written to the store manager and nothing changes. On the start of a holiday weekend or a normal weekend my WC Case manager is out of the office, her supervisor is out of the office and for emmediate assistance press 0 where your on hold for ever with no answer, dial tone.
If the store did their job I would not be in pain and lose sleep for several days. Besides that I think the store teaches employees tell Customers what they think they want to hear. Way too many excuses. Twice told to go to another store only to find out from another store it’s illegal and can’t be done. How this Pharmacy stays in business is beyond me. Because I travel I need a pharmacy with multiple locations. Good luck if you have more that one insurance company they can’t Handel it.

AVOID AT ALL COST

Let me be clear, I am only writing this review based upon the pharmacy customer service technicians at 28426 State Highway 249, Tomball, TX 77375. This store number is 03233.

For some reason this pharmacy customer service has PLUMMETED following a staffing shortage that has led to the replacement of pharmacy techs and pharmacists. The replacements are rude, they do not listen to what the customer is trying to explain and lack the knowledge to rectify the concern/ issue. Due to this inability to know how to correctly address the issue, they make up a response that is basically a lie. I'm ready to find a pharmacy with integrity and intelligent customer service pharmacy technicians.

Poor Services at Walgreens Pharmacy

I wonder if Walgreens has a service quality control unit that would normally oversee service delivery to its customers. The quality of services that I have often received at Walgreens Pharmacy in some locations especially Leominster Central Street, MA is very poor as compared to CVS and Walmart Lunenburg, MA State.
In fact they should fix their telephone and also pick up phone calls at the pharmacy. The wait time is too much and the lines eventually cuts. One can be holding on for many hours sometimes Fitchburg Walgreens does that too. I have encountered this so many times. Besides, some of their staff - technicians are somehow rude. The ones in Worcester are better.

Pharmacist is unprofessional and has zero work ethic

This is in regards to the Walgreens Pharmacy on Harford Road in Parkville, Maryland.
For the past two years, I’ve been battling two different types of cancer. One of which is exceptionally painful, and now stage 4. My doctor had written me, prescriptions for pain medications, which when I was using that particular pharmacy that pharmacist continuously harassed me over doing things such as refusing to provide me with my pain medication without providing me with an actual reason. He indicated that he would have to speak with my doctor before he could give them to me, but refused to actually ever get in contact with my doctor although I did provide him with all the information necessary as well as being provided when they submitted the prescriptions into Walgreens. He verbally harassed me one day in front of other customers who were at that Pharmacy asking me personal private information such as my reason for needing the medication. And telling him that I had cancer wasn’t enough for him, he wanted to know the particular type of cancer that I had which was very embarrassing to say that I had anal cancer in front of a bunch of strangers. Then told me to explain to him what pain I was experiencing due to my cancer, rather than do what he should’ve done, which was reached out to my doctor and have a private conversation away from the years of others regarding my situation if he had concerns.
The other staff at that pharmacy were aware of the situation with that particular Pharmacist, and had apologized for his behavior on numerous occasions. I’m aware that Walgreens has a process in place where the pharmacist gets to determine whether a patient is allowed to be provided with pain medication however, there needs to be guidelines and SOPs put into place so situations like this don’t occur. Additionally, there needs to be some department that can be contacted in situations where a pharmacist is not adhering to those guidelines and SOP’s so they can follow up on the situation rather than allowing that particular pharmacist to continue behaving and treating people the way that he or she is. I have reached out to Walgreens corporate several times regarding this and received absolutely no assistance whatsoever about this. Needless to say I’ve switched pharmacies since and go to a pharmacy where I don’t get berated, embarrassed, and denied my pain medication for days at a time simply because that Pharmacist is having a momentary power trip, or a bad day, or whatever their reason for behaving that way. I certainly don’t recommend that anybody go to that particular pharmacy because of that Pharmacist alone, which is sad, considering the rest of the staff is absolutely amazing and helpful.

On 10/07/24 my wife's doctor submitted…

On 10/07/24 my wife's doctor submitted a prescription for some pain meds (she has stage 4 bone cancer) it is 10/14/24 and the Pharmacy STILL cannot fill the order because they are out of stock!
This is unacceptable!

This is a review of the Walgreens Pharmacy located at 2650 Hennepin Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55408.

If I could leave zero stars, I would.

This is literally THE WORST PHARMACY POSSIBLE.

1) Expect to wait on hold for at least 30 minutes to speak to a pharmacist. (Others report up to 90 minutes.)

2) Expect difficulty getting your prescriptions to show up in your walgreens.com account -- which means you can't order refills online. Experience item #1 every time you need to refill a prescription.

3) When you get sick and tired of the terrible customer service and the endless waits to pick up prescriptions (walk-in and drive-up) and try to transfer your prescription AWAY from this horrible pharmacy ... don't even bother to ask your new pharmacy to try to do the transfer. They all know that this Walgreen's won't respond. Save yourself time and aggravation and just go straight to your prescribing physician, and tell them you need your prescriptions to be transferred over to a different pharmacy. That's the only way that transfer is going to happen.

I hope I save a lot of people from losing the horrifying number of hours that have been sucked out of my life, since I made the awful, unknowing mistake of choosing Walgreens 2650 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55408 as my pharmacy.

Horrible experience and horrible…

Horrible experience and horrible customer service. I was out of meds yesterday. Came to get supply for few says which ive doneant times is past until prescription was filed. She tells me no this is controlled substance and they couldn't help. I told her she was wrong and gotten this many times over the years, She went away, came back with the supply, threw in tube and walked away. No have a nice day, sorry I was wrong nothing. It scares me that this ignorant rude person is handing my meds. Med is not opioid, not addictive but I have to take it or wean myself off. I am never going there again. She was just going to cut me off no reason

What an improvement!

Wow! This pharmacy has improved so much in the past year! When I used to go pick up my prescriptions, the people working there acted like they hated their jobs and I was an inconvenience. It seems like those people are gone and now everyone is friendly and helpful.
