First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for the vehicle collection situation. Our standard timeframe for pickup is within five days of the sale date, and it is clear we did not meet that commitment in your case. We understand how frustrating and unsettling it must have been to have someone arrive at your home unannounced after dark without any prior notification — particularly given that you had specifically requested to be notified in advance. There is no excuse for this, and we are taking it seriously. You had every right to expect a scheduled, coordinated pickup with proper communication, and we failed to deliver that. We are reviewing this with our operations team immediately to ensure it does not happen again.

Regarding the valuation: our mobile buyer conducts a professional, in-person inspection to verify the condition of the vehicle before a firm offer can be made. During the appraisal, our team identified a number of issues that affected the vehicle's resale value, including engine belt noise, a holed front bumper, rust on the hood and both rear quarter panels, dents on the passenger and driver side doors, and a sagging headlining. These findings, particularly the engine noise, are outside the scope of normal wear and tear and must be factored into our offer to reflect the vehicle's true market condition. We invite all customers to join our mobile buyer during the inspection so they can see exactly what we see and understand how a vehicle's condition affects its valuation.

We also want to address your comments about communication throughout the process. We understand that our communication did not meet your expectations, and we take that feedback seriously. On the valuation: a vehicle that will not start presents a genuine challenge. The reason it won't start matters enormously — a flat battery is a straightforward fix, and in that case the car can be driven in and appraised normally. But if the underlying problem is more serious, the vehicle may be at or near end of life, which changes its classification entirely. A car in that condition would typically require specialist towing to a salvage yard, and the offer would reflect salvage value rather than the retail estimate generated online. We were right to flag that distinction — but the way it was communicated to you was unacceptable, and we are sorry for that.
