After the collapse of Carillion and a lengthy and protracted series of events surrounding lack of consultation and notice periods etc. Weightmans offered a no win no fee representation. Many many months have elapsed since and the long and short is that they cut a very poor deal which saw them get nearly 40% of the actual settlement from each person they represented. I have no idea how many people they are representing but suffice to say they will net thousands and the poor innocent victims of it all end up with a few hundred measly pounds. If this is not bad enough they have now had the settlement monies from the insolvency service for over 4 weeks and I am yet to receive my pittance from them. This leads me to believe they are making further profits off our backs by the interest they will be getting. Totally awful service.

Weightmans recently represented a number of ex-Carillion employees on a no win, no fee claim for a protective award for lack of consultation with the company going into liquidation.
The outcome was far from ideal as a deal was done for a lesser amount than we were led to believe at the outset.
On 14th December 2021 a letter was issued by the Insolvency service stating that the award had been made. It was not until 21st January 2022 that this letter was forwarded by email to me by Weightman, a delay which is totally unacceptable. Additionally Weightmans advised that they needed a further “couple of weeks” to process payment to me, after deducting their fee. It is now in excess of 3 weeks later and I have not received a penny. I have emailed Weightmans, and have not received a response.
This has been a totally unsavoury experience.
