The Paddock Lodge

We had a lovely time at the paddock lodge. The place was spotless when we arrived, and had a lovely welcome package. Location was perfect with lots of walks from the lodge. The blue bell at braunston is must visit pub if you have time.
The hot tub was the highlight of the stay and perfect for relaxing in with a glass of wine after a day of exploring! The lodge itself was comfortable, clean and well equipped. Would definitely recommend, and would love to stay again.

We stayed with We Stay over the weekend…

We stayed with We Stay over the weekend at Sophie’s Barn and had a wonderful time. The property was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The peaceful surroundings made it the perfect place to unwind, and the attention to detail really stood out.

The booking process was straightforward, and the communication from the We Stay team was excellent from start to finish. We felt well looked after throughout our stay.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend We Stay and Sophie’s Barn to anyone looking for a comfortable, high-quality getaway, and we’re already looking forward to booking again!

We stay Ltd cancelled property 2 days before arrival

I share the other reviewer Philias view after booking months ago for a cottage in Quorndon via their property listed on booking.com. It was cancelled 2 days before our arrival citing unforeseeable circumstances. If I had cancelled 2 days before I would have been charged the full amount! So I made a complaint to Booking.com and asked what is my compensation will be and they were excellent. Obviously charged this company a 50% cancellation fee which they kindly put into my booking.com wallet. What a terrible service from We Stay Ltd but an excellent service from Booking.com.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry that your booking was cancelled so close to your arrival date and understand how frustrating this must have been.

Although it is very uncommon, there are occasions where, when managing properties on behalf of owners, a property owner is no longer able to honour a confirmed booking due to unexpected circumstances that are completely out of our control. When this happens, we work as quickly as possible to notify guests and explore alternative solutions, whilst recognising the disruption this can cause.

Booking.com is one of our advertising and booking partners, and we provided them with all the required information required for the cancellation in line with their policies regarding unforeseen cancellations. Both ourselves and platforms such as Booking.com take cancellations very seriously, and every case is handled in accordance with these guidelines.

We’d also like to reassure you that we are a fair and understanding company. If a guest experiences genuine personal circumstances that affect their stay, we’re always happy to discuss the situation and, where appropriate, offer a free cancellation or work with them to find the best possible solution. Every case is considered on its own merits.

We’re pleased to hear that Booking.com, as the booking provider, was able to assist you and provide compensation following your complaint. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience this situation caused.

I have used westay a few times and have always had a positive experience! They have a lovely wide range of properties to choose from to accommodate you depending on your stay and are always accommodating over message should you have any questions or queries. I particularly enjoyed staying at Far Heath House it’s a five star from me.

The Old Stables Port Hill through We Stay

I booked a 8 night stay at The Old Stable Port Hill Slawston Road the property certainly lived up to its name as old. I wasn’t aware directly next door is Port Hill House which is a large property with an outdoor swimming pool meaning that the area to the rear of your property becomes a NCP car park making it difficult for you to get in & out people coming & going all time of the night chatting laughing & doors slamming the other side of your bedroom.The pool area, which is behind your bedroom, being used as the party area with girls screaming, playing loud music, drinking and dancing despite We Stay saying parties are not held, when they were not even there to see. Both weekends I was there the property was taken over by screaming girls on their hen party. I did complain to We Stay the first night but got such a snotty reply that they were youngsters enjoying a summer evening at 8.30 at night when I really didn’t care what time of the night it was. I didn’t waste my time complaining again after this as I could see no point.The property was sold to me in their description as a serene location property which misleads you to think you are surrounded by peace and quiet which was anything but at the weekends. If I wanted to be among screaming girls I would have saved a fortune and booked a stay at Butlins holiday camp. I woukd imagine school holidays the property being used by families with children but fortunately I went out of season. I ended up leaving a day early as the next hen party arrived on the Friday and I thought I’m not going to have another sleepless night so packed up and left!
I cannot believe that I am the first person to pick up on this & therefore don’t believe negative reviews are being posted so will be interesting if my one appears so don’t believe what you read with this company as I dont believe the reviews are a true representation.
I use holiday cottages 4/5 times a year & this was one of the worse properties I have stayed at.as soon as I got out of the car I was met by loose slabs to the door step and a lock that worked when it wanted to so I ended up using the conservatory entrance as I could see the lock just not opening one day, which they would of been fully aware of.
On entering the property I usually remove my shoes but about 40% of the tiles to the kitchen floor were either smashed, broken or were loose so I didn’t fancy having my foot sliced open so had to wear shoes all the time. The lounge furniture had seen better days, the bed was a lovely size but obviously the springs to the bed were an optional extra when they bought the bed and they decided not to purchase them as I have never stayed in such an uncomfortable hard bed. If it wasn’t for the cheap dirty floor tiles in the bedroom & lounge I would have slept on the floor. Fortunately I found a spare duvet, which wasn’t particularly clean, which I doubled up and put under the sheet to give some sort of comfort. There was no wardrobe except 4 hangers so everything had to be either left in the case or put in the draw.
The kitchen didn’t come with things like kitchen roll, tin foil, oil and only 3 forks! The floor was filthy so glad I had worn shoes all week. I dropped some water on the floor, as there was no kitchen towel & limited loo roll I used one of their towels to mop it up & was disgusted by the state of the towel.
Even the welcome hamper was pretty basic It was a standard loaf of white bread, with a sell by date the following day, a jar of Robinsons Strawberry jam, not even a local jam, cheap anchor butter, two pints of milk &a roll and a half of a loo roll! They even had the audacity to try & sell bathroom products at £25 which were 3/4 empty The biggest let down was the garden again misrepresentation in the photos which shows a lovely manicured garden. The hedges were over grown with weeds and brambles growing out of them so if you sat in a chair you had the view of an over grown hedge & weeds not the field next door & the patio was non existent as it was covered in 2 ft weeds again with a step that had further loose slabs
I would certainly not recommend this property as it has been neglected & not the serene location sold to its clients.I would not use We Stay again as I felt they have let me down as they would have been aware that the property is so neglected

I agree you did respond quickly to my complaint being told, in not so many words, that the noise was 8.30 at night so why am I complaining & there was guests arriving & not staying
Both parties were only females & were accompanied by hen party attire. The second lot of guests were outside my kitchen window congratulating the bride!
It’s a shame you didn’t address the state of the property in particular the over grown garden which I supplied photos & the dangerous kitchen tiles!
Yes I could have contacted you further but it is quite obvious the property is neglected & happy to supply photos to future guests

Many of these matters were not raised with us during your stay and, had they been brought to our attention at the time, we would have prioritised investigating them and taking any necessary action. We always encourage guests to contact us whilst they are staying with us so that we have the opportunity to resolve any issues as quickly as possible, and this is highlighted within both our check-in information and digital guidebook.
Whilst we appreciate that you were seeking a peaceful countryside retreat, we would like to clarify a few points for the benefit of future guests. The Old Stables is clearly described on our website as an annexe to the neighbouring property, Port Hill House. Following your stay, we have further updated the property description to make it even clearer that the driveway is shared and that Port Hill House has a swimming pool.
We would also like to clarify that the neighbouring bookings during your stay were not hen parties, but groups of guests enjoying a break together. In addition, the swimming pool was out of use during this period. When concerns regarding noise were raised with our team, we responded promptly by contacting the neighbouring guests and reminding them to be considerate of surrounding properties. Whilst the activity took place during the early evening and before our 11:00pm quiet hours, we nevertheless took the concern seriously and acted immediately.
We were sorry to read your comments regarding the response from our team, as our intention is always to respond in a helpful, fair and professional manner when concerns are raised. We would also note that, in your review on another platform, you acknowledged that we responded quickly and dealt with the matter promptly, which we were pleased to hear.
We would also like to reassure readers that all genuine guest reviews are published, regardless of rating, provided they comply with the relevant platform guidelines. We welcome all constructive feedback as it helps us continue to improve both our properties and our service. The Old Stables continues to receive excellent feedback across multiple booking platforms, including Airbnb, where it has consistently been highly rated by guests and is part of their guest favourite programme.

The Coach House, wow, simply stunning!

Wow, the Coach House is an amazing place, simply stunning. The team at WeStay went above and beyond to make the stay unforgettable, I couldn't be more delighted with the whole experience. Would give 10 stars if I could. RECOMMEND!

We had a great stay at Olive Cottage with We Stay. The house was great, very clean, had all we needed. We stay were very helpful and responded to emails very quickly. The information provided about the house was also very detailed.

A true nightmare

I cannot believe I was put in such an awful position.

I had used Booking.com to stay at one of We Stay's locations, Wollaton House in Nottingham. I had made the booking in November 2025 for May 2nd 2026, and it was cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances" 3 days before the check-in date! This was a booking for 9 people travelling from across and outside of England on a bank holiday weekend. I was told that I would get a full refund as if they were doing me a favour...

The representative who was messaging with me was extremely unhelpful and had attempted to gaslight me into accepting another property in their portfolio on Airbnb that met the "requirements requested." This, of course, was false as it did not meet the same requirements/standards as the original property, nor did it match the same dates. She had told me to message the property owner myself(!) to see if they could alter the dates, despite this being a supposed property in their own portfolio.

She told me to look for other "alternative homes available" on Booking.com, forgetting to note that these alternatives would now cost me upwards of £2000 because of the short notice, number of guests and the bank holiday. I was then pushed over to the Booking.com customer service team, wiping her hands clean of all responsibility.

In the end, we had to book 45 mins out of Nottingham in Derby - with an additional £358.07 expense (not including the costs of cancelled trains/reservations in Notts/additional petrol prices).

We are sincerely sorry to read of your experience and fully appreciate the frustration and disruption this caused, particularly given the size of your group, the bank holiday weekend, and the short notice involved.

Whilst cancellations are exceptionally rare, there are unfortunately occasions where bookings we manage on behalf of property owners may be cancelled or relocated due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

We understand that this does little to lessen the disappointment caused, especially where significant travel arrangements and associated costs are involved.

Having reviewed the correspondence relating to your booking, we can see that our team acted promptly and sympathetically throughout the situation and remained extremely apologetic regarding the circumstances, while assisting in exploring alternative options. It was clear that We Stay did not have any properties available within our portfolio that met your requirements and, therefore, we shared details of an alternative property managed by another company/owner.

As We Stay did not manage the alternative property offered, we advised that, as the lead booker, you would need to contact them directly. Our intention throughout was to assist in finding a practical solution as quickly as possible under difficult circumstances.

That said, we are genuinely sorry that the alternatives presented did not meet the expectations or requirements of your original reservation, and we regret the additional expense and inconvenience you subsequently incurred.

We value all guest feedback and take situations such as this very seriously and remain committed to reviewing situations of this nature carefully. Should you wish to discuss the matter further, please do not hesitate to contact the We Stay team directly.

We rented the place for the Jubilee weekend and it was the best choice me and my friends did. The place was really beautiful, spacious and modern. It was very cosy and comfortable, almost felt like home. The host was very friendly as well. We really enjoyed our stay.

beautiful stay at Dovecote…

We had a beautiful stay at Dovecote Farmhouse recently. House was stunning and full of character with loads of space. Hosts couldn’t have done enough and We Stay we fantastic to deal with, always promptly replying to any queries I had. We were a bit nervous at first booking as there has been no reviews previously however we discovered we were the first people to ever rent the house as it was only just newly released and I’m so glad we did. Thank you for a lovely experience.

What a fantastic property and location

What a fantastic property and location, with stunning views and so very peaceful.
If you want to get away from it all and totally relax and unwind, then this will be the perfect spot.
With no light pollution, sitting in the hot tub looking at the star filled skies, was a great way to end a days walking in the Breacon countryside.

Delightful and convenient cottage

We stayed at the charming corner cottage in Quorn which lives up to its name. It is indeed charming and a great place to stay. Very convenient for the restaurants in Quorn and within walking distance of the Great Central Railway at Quorn and Woodhouse station. It is an easy drive into Loughborough as well.

Spacious and comfortable

This is a spacious, well-furnished property in a pretty village. Very close to an excellent pub offering good quality meals (The Nevill Arms).

There were a few kitchen/dining items missing but this is being very picky.

The games console and air hockey table was a hit with the "kids at heart"!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Medbourne.

Absolutely perfect , highly recommend

Stayed at The Barn over the Christmas Period . Booking was simple with clear directions on how to get to the property and get the keys , all without having too see anyone , so covid safe ! The property was immaculate, inviting and very well presented. They had put a Christmas tree up and decorated . Hot tub was fantastic . I found the whole experience extremely pleasant and would highly recommend. I have booked for my second holiday with we stay in a different property.

A Hidden Gem.....Our stay was wonderful…

A Hidden Gem.....Our stay was wonderful at the house celebrating my 65th birthday with close family. A central location for us all to meet up. The house was comfortable and set in a beautiful quiet village overlooking countryside.
The house was tastefully decorated and filled all our needs.
A few points that may be considered when large groups attend, is to pre-warn guests to bring their own toilet paper or store some extra. Also you may like to consider having Champagne glasses especially when celebrating special occasions.
We could not find the side door key for easy access to the utility/kitchen. Especially useful when returning with muddy boots and pets from walks. Also it would have been easy access for the Caterers that we had.
We had no response when asked about Caterers suggested on the website. However my son did locate a professional Chef who we would highly recommend to use. The service was excellent with outstanding quality food and menu choices. Tim Carr Catering - mobile 07737 161695.
My birthday was made extra special with the unique "Dining Experience". We shall be talking about it for a long time and will never forget.
We all enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer.
