Well the men that came to load the…

Well the men that came to load the truck were very professional, prompt, they wrapped everything very carefully and took great care with our belongings-now for the bad part-when we called to see when they would be delivering our belongings to our new home, they said they had 14 days to deliver our stuff!! Who wants to wait 2 weeks to get your belongings when you’re moving into a new home!!!! Luckily we knew people that lent us beds and a table so we could somewhat function-why would a company even hold your stuff for that long? It’s just mind blowing that they can get away with that.! I mean we’re stuck. We have nothing else to do but wait.!!! also the original price they quoted us was less than $3000 and the final quote was almost $10,000 so be very leery and beware of what you’re doing with this company! I wanted to have faith all would go well but, evidently, they don’t care if you’re sitting in an empty house-they just want your money

Unethical and Predatory

I write this review to share my experience and warn anyone considering hiring Brightside Moving Group. In working with them I learned first hand of their highly unethical and predatory business practices. I’m sure over the phone or in response to my review, Brightside will attempt to provide an innocent explanation behind everything I share, please do not believe them and fall victim. While Brightside doesn’t violate anything within their agreement (which they will stress), the core tenants of their contract, which are cleverly hidden, are unethical. Let me explain:

Brightside will state they offer a ‘Binding Estimate’ – meaning clauses like price/square foot and other accessory costs remain fixed. This is true. However, their ‘estimate’ is nothing more than a number, it has no bearing on the final price the actual moving company (who is in no way legally tied to Brightside) will charge. Brightside will intentionally quote a low amount to win your business. This is where things become predatory.

1.) By quoting an intentionally low (i.e. False), estimate, Brightside has now won your business. They collect payment on the initial quote and your searching for a provider is done. You’ve now sealed your fate.

2.) You’ll then receive a QA call. The estimate is likely to increase as you may add more items. They will collect an additional payment for the delta in the original estimate to the new ‘final estimate’. You’re now in deeper.

3.) The movers will come and will not quote you a price until your items are either on the truck or lined up in the street. You’re now at their mercy. Remember, the movers charge their own price – and Brightside’s agreement clearly states this – it is in no way tied to the estimates provided by Brightside. As you have no other options to move, and your items are out of the house, the moving company will charge an extremely inflated price.

a. Prior to signing the initial agreement, I shared my concerns with the Brightside sales agent that by the letter of the law, the contract states this could happen and I’m liable to pay any amount the moving company quotes. She assured me that while that is the case, “we do things the right way and only work the select moving companies who don’t operate that way.” She assured me that Brightside does things ‘the right way’. This was a satisfactory explanation as I assumed no good company could continue to operate if they continually take advantage of their customer base. I was wrong and these tactics need to be made known.

My initial estimate was around $5,000, the final estimate rose to $7,900, and final cost of the move soared to $12,800. When the movers showed me the quote I immediately tried to contact my sales agent who promised they would ‘be there every step of the way’. Coincidentally, that day she was out of the office and unable to speak with me. In attempting to contact her over the following days, she told me she is now no longer associated with Brightside and is legally required to cease contact.

In working to find a resolution with Brightside I was never followed up with. I made six separate calls over a 12 day period and at the end of things, I was only offered $400 with the strict requirement that I sign a non-disparagement clause which stated I would not say anything ‘negative’ about the company. I declined the money to share my experience. If this review can convince even one person to find another provider (please don’t hire a broker), the refusal of the $400 will be well worth it.

I’m extremely disappointed with how the situation turned out. Moving is often a very stressful time and Brightside is the type of company that recognizes this and takes advantage of people while they’re vulnerable. Do not believe their low estimate, always be skeptical of the broker moving industry, and save yourself time and stress by hiring a professional moving company that owns the entire process from start to finish, you’ll thank yourself in the end.

We are moving to South Carolina from…

We are moving to South Carolina from New york we hired bright side and agreed on what we thought was a fair and reasonable price, mind you we are not brining any furniture with us and none of the boxes we packed exceed 50 pounds in all honestly we are really not brining all that much, and we’re detailed about what was coming when we had the conversation and received the quote, however upon arrival they informed us that they were charging us an extra $1,100 and that if we didn’t they would have the guys leave and not do the job and that we would not receive our deposit back, they also informed us that there is no guarantee that they can have it at the new address by the date we agreed on when this again was AGREED ON, they basically strong armed us into paying them double the amount and left with no choice because we have to be out of our house in the next 3 days this is ridiculous and not how a reputable company operates they also showed up 3 hours late which didn’t matter but when you add it in with the other nonsense it’s extremely wrong we will be reporting to the BBB

My experience was awful

My experience was awful. Please, be careful with these people. They will make you sign all documents very fast and in case you need to change your plans no matter why, there will be no excuse. Due to the documents they will be absolutely right. And you will pay huge amount of money in advance and no refund!!! Even if you will inform them a month in advance. Right after my review, you will see 7-8 reviews, made at the same time by their own employees! They all will be about great experience! Don't believe, they are just trying do not let their rating go down. And I will be writing the same bad reviews every month until this company will pay my money back.

Darkside instead of brightside moving company

Brightside is a broker who outsources the job to third parties and takes no responsibility for the service provided. They will give you a low estimate, a wrong number of cubic feet for your moving and ask for money upfront. When the movers come they double the estimated price because the items take more space in the truck than the previously agreed. Also, the movers, Express Movers Service, lost part of my furniture. I filed a claim with the company that Brightside recommended, named CSI, but never solve the issue. Look for a legitimate moving company who honor their quotes, respond for their faults and have BBB accreditation.

Review of Brightside Moving (Broker…

I will continue to post everyday until Brightside Moving takes accountability and remedies my parents move.

Review of Brightside Moving (Broker Scam 🚨):

I am leaving this review on behalf of my parents, who unfortunately used Brightside for their move.

Brightside is not a true moving company — they are a broker who outsources the job to third parties and takes no responsibility for the service provided.

My parents were given a quote and signed a contract confirming their move date.

Despite providing Brightside with a complete inventory list and photo proof of every item, the company doubled the invoice just one week before the move.

On the confirmed move day, Brightside called to say no truck was available and postponed — even though this directly conflicted with their closing date.

When the rescheduled day came, the subcontracted movers arrived hours late, brought a truck that was far too small, and couldn’t finish the move in one trip.

This forced them to return the next day (the actual closing day) to finish loading, and then again later that day just for the hot tub.

Brightside also refused to confirm a delivery date during the week of the move, leaving my parents without any answers.

To make matters worse, they attempted to tack on an additional $5,000 in fees to cover the cost of their subcontractors.

⚠️ Brightside is a scam. They bait families with a low quote, pass the move to unprofessional subcontractors, and leave customers with stress, delays, and inflated costs. My parents had a terrible experience, and I strongly warn anyone considering them to move.

If I could give 0 stars I would

If I could give 0 stars I would. They are not upfront about pricing and deceptive concerning their work practices. We were given a quote and not until movers came were we told there would be an additional charge of $5,000. I couldn't believe it. Moving is expensive enough without being lied to. I will tell everyone who will listen how terrible this company is. DO NOT use their services.

Scam and money hungry

I cannot warn people enough about this company. Our experience was beyond stressful, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.

We were told by our rep, Anthony, that our belongings would arrive in 10 days from California to Florida. Instead, it took 19 days with no communication. For the first two weeks we heard nothing—only after WE called did we learn that the truck had “broken down.” The driver refused to give us any real details and just repeated that they were only “obligated to update us 24 hours before delivery.” When that call finally came, they pushed delivery back yet again, from the promised 3–6 pm time slot to 8 am the next day—calling us at 4:30 pm to let us know. Completely unprofessional.

The most disappointing part was the endless runaround. We spent hours on the phone communicating details like the number of boxes or the condition of our items. Six movers came to pack our things, yet somehow no one could give us an accurate quote before packing. Instead, we were blindsided with an extra $1,820 charge after everything was already on the truck. This is the same scam other reviewers have described, and I now believe they deliberately underquote just to trap you.

On top of that, I’m 8 months pregnant, and we paid over $8,000 for a simple 2-bedroom move. When I voiced concerns, instead of addressing them, Anthony emailed me to “please have good thoughts.” Absolutely dismissive and insulting. It’s clear they care more about collecting money and buying fake reviews than providing any real service.

To add insult to injury, a $300 glass lamp table was broken in the process. Accidents happen, but given everything else, it just capped off a nightmare experience.

If you value your time, money, and sanity, avoid this company at all costs. This move was the most stressful and disappointing service experience I’ve ever had.

RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN

I reserved my move with this company four months in advance, went over my entire inventory in detail, and paid my deposit. The day before my scheduled move, I received a call saying that due to the “volume of my items” I would need to pay an additional $400. With no other choice (since the movers were coming the next day and I had to be out of my home), we paid.

When the movers arrived, they suddenly demanded an additional $1,200 citing a stair fee—despite the fact that this was clearly communicated to the company ahead of time and should have already been factored into the original quote. To make matters worse, the company fired the crew on the spot, leaving me with no movers and scrambling to get someone else. After hours of stress and phone calls, they managed to send a new crew the following day.

I was told delivery would take 2–12 days, and that I could call for an update within two business days. When I did, it took over a week just to locate my belongings and then nearly three weeks for my items to actually arrive. During that time, I had no furniture, no household items, and had to buy clothing just to get through work. There was no communication or accountability, only vague promises and shifting timelines.

When my delivery was finally scheduled, I was given less than 24 hours’ notice and told if I wasn’t available, I’d be charged a $750 rescheduling fee. Luckily it fell on a Sunday, but had it been a weekday, I would have been forced to take off work. Upon arrival, they tried to charge an additional $670 “long haul” fee because my apartment door was 75 feet from where they parked. We couldn’t afford yet another surprise fee, so we had to personally load our belongings into our own cars and drive them to the apartment door ourselves.

This move was originally quoted at $1,500. By the end, it cost nearly $3,000 plus weeks of stress, unnecessary expenses, and endless frustration.

Do not use this company. Run the other way if you value your time, money, and peace of mind.

They are the worst people to deal with…

They are the worst people to deal with after you sign the contract with them. They bait you and then totally disregarded you. And what company doesn’t take credit card or cashier’s check or personal check? Sounds like they want to get away with reporting income to the IRS.
Furniture delivered with damages and going through their insurance was such a pain in my ass. They said they can’t verify the actual weight of the furniture. They broke and damaged so many pieces of my furniture. Do not use them especially when they say they only take cash, Venmo, Zelle or money order.

Horrific experience from start to end, now going to litigation!

I scheduled a long distance move from New York City to Atlanta for a May pick up and June 2nd delivery with Brightside. Turned out to be a horrible broker service–meaning all the promises they made about ensuring timely pick up and delivery date is all just BS. After selling the contract to Express Movers Inc./J & H Logistic Transportation, everything spiraled downhill from there and ended up costing me thousands of dollars in extra moving costs and damages that will now go to litigation as all parties refuse to engage in any type of customer service. Once the transport company owners (Moshe Gamay and Jay Al Khatib) have the money in their pocket, they will stop picking up calls and will instruct their employees not to pick up or return your calls. Brightside will deny any involvement after you sign.

1) MOVING PROCESS
i. They would/could not confirm an actual move pick up date/time until less than 12 hours before my "scheduled" window. They ended up coming 8.5 HOUR LATE!!! Same for delivery -- everything is an "estimate" despite what they promise you and when things hit the fan, they point to the small print which basically says they owe you pennies on the dollar for any damages and that there are no guarantees for anything.
ii. Delivery was a bigger nightmare. They showed up three days before my earliest scheduled move in date (before my new place was even vacated by the last tenants and before my lease even began). When I let them know their mistake, it resulted in days of delay as they detoured down for another move in Florida. As a result I lost hundreds of dollars in my lease as the apartment sat completely empty and unusable, and my having to pay for a hotel to stay in.

2) PRICE. The delivery estimate that they quote you is arbitrary. No matter what they quote, you will likely pay almost double after they've loaded the truck. Read the reviews. I was quoted $1700 for my move, which was supposed to include packing services. At the end of this, I ended up paying $2600 -- not including the thousands of dollars in damages and extra expenses due to their mistakes. Upon arrival, no one seemed to really know what was going on, and not only did they disregard clear instructions for what should go and what should stay (which also cost me very dearly), the packing and loading job was disorganized and extremely inefficient (i.e. not filling up boxes all the way so they could charge extra for additional boxes, packing items that were to be thrown away, again, using up extra boxes). Don't make the same mistake I did and try to save money -- it will come back and end up costing you at least double the difference and a huge amount of stress and headache.

3) DAMAGES.
i. Half of the furniture that was valuable enough for me to bring down with me was completely destroyed. Legs were broken off of chairs and dressers, furniture that should NOT be disassembled for some reason was taken apart (with no way to reassemble without completely severely compromising its integrity and aesthetic), TV boxes must have been thrown about, as one was broken and useless upon arrival and had to be thrown out. Glassware that they packed for me was shattered and broken.
ii. Your property will NOT be looked after -- boxes will arrive comically crushed and torn. During my sales call, I was sold that items would be stored in a secure and safe environment until delivery. We were shocked to see the state of the delivery truck when it finally arrived. The back was just open during transit--IN THE RAIN. Boxes were soaked, almost a quarter of all my clothing and shoes (thousands of dollars worth) were completely destroyed.

4) Customer service = NONEXISTENT. When the delivery finally arrived, they sent ONE PERSON! While Ismail was a lovely gem of a human, it was an impossibility that he could complete this move on his own. He brought one small dolly with him which could barely fit a few small boxes on it, much less my extra deep king mattress and any furniture pieces. My fiance saw him struggling to even budge the mattress in the truck and we ended up doing 70% of the actual lifting and moving ourselves. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE PAID THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR. I was told that the company would get back to me on a refund or some type of resolution. Never happened.

5) LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY. During the delivery and after, Ismail expressed his sympathy and shock at the state of some of the damage. He was on the phone with his boss, Jay, a few times and they acknowledged error on their part and I was told I would be compensated. After they left, NOTHING. What do I get? A month of run around, hostility, and now verbatim "It was your choice to help with the move, not our problem." I have screenshots of texts where they promised some type of restitution that they're now backtracking on. Brightside has no conscience or accountability!

Very Disappointing Experience

Very Disappointing Experience – Would Strongly Caution Others

We had a deeply frustrating and disappointing experience with Brightside Moving Group during our recent interstate move from Utah to Florida. What began with a $10,000 binding estimate turned into a $18,100 bill, based on an inflated and unverified claim that our shipment had nearly doubled in volume — with no re-inventory, no re-measurement, and no explanation.

My wife, who was alone when the movers arrived, was pressured to sign revised documents on the spot or face the threat of our belongings being dumped into the driveway. She signed under duress, after being reassured that the charges would be reconciled at delivery. That never happened.

When we measured the delivered items ourselves, they came to just 691 cubic feet — far less than even the original estimate of 1,000 CF, let alone the 1,900 CF they charged us for. Brightside refused to adjust the charges.

In addition:

Several items were damaged, including a bed, desks, and a bicycle.

Sentimental items and a coin/currency collection went missing and were never recovered.

The movers packed things we did not authorize to be moved — including a wet dishwasher and a trash can full of garbage.

Delivery took 22 days, far beyond the promised 10–12 day window.

Extra fees were added without proper explanation or justification.

We’ve filed a formal dispute with our credit card company and submitted complaints to the FMCSA and BBB. We expected a professional, honest move and were met with aggressive upselling, poor service, and zero accountability.

I wouldn’t recommend Brightside to anyone, especially if you’re planning a long-distance move.

Do not use Brightside. Unethical and deceptive quoting practices.

I was originally quoted by Brightside approximately $4,000 for a move of a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house from central Mississippi to southern Maine. Two days before our scheduled move, we were asked to do a verbal inventory of our items and were told the price was increased to over $6,000. However, the morning of the move, the contracted moving company, Master Movers, moved our stuff from our house into the street and then said we actually would owe over $14,000. Faced with no other option, we paid the balance in full. Brightside was unable to provide any information about the vast difference in the original quote and final cost.
Originally, Brightside also told us our items would take between 5 and 14 business days to deliver based on the distance of our home to the final destination.

Once master movers took over, we were told it would take 21 business days to deliver our items. When we asked Brightside about this difference we were told it was because Master Movers had taken our things from Mississippi to California and the extra time was to get from California to Maine.

Once a third party (name unknown) arrived to our home with our stuff, we were told that because the 18-wheeler could not fit on our road (which is not true) we owed an additional $800 for them to unload.

When I called Master Movers to ask about the additional charge I was yelled at and hung up on twice. After agreeing to pay, our items were finally unloaded.

The criminally insane cost difference from the original quote to final amount paid has to be illegal. After paying more than $11,000 more than we were quoted, I am determined to get at least some of the cost refunded or have the business held accountable for their wildly inaccurate estimate practices.

This moving broker is a scam

This moving broker is a scam. Their sales person quoted me a price based on a detailed review of items with pictures shared of every item. We also agreed on a date that he said would be honored unless there was a snowstorm or hurricane, and that I would hear 1-2 days before with exact pick up time. Surprise surprise I hear nothing despite multiple calls and then hear at the last minute that they have pushed out the pick up by a day. Then the driver appears and the estimated cost of the move has magically doubled. Brightside wanted to sell me a move and did not care that they purposely undersold and overpromised on dates. Total disappointment and scam.

This a been the worst nightmare move of…

This a been the worst nightmare move of my life. They lied from the beginning just to get you to use their poor shitty service. I asked a million questions asked about boxes and asked about a weight ticket. Once movers got there they had no boxes or an empty weight ticket, I needed one full also. Natalie and Alex assured me because they are going across state lines weight tickets are required. Delivered my items broken, gave me someone else’s shipment, missing items. Still no weight ticket. I am furious. Then they want to be secretive about the managers number. They stated whatever they disamble they reassemble. My furniture is sitting in assembled. I’m mad as hell.

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY OR…

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!
This had to be the worst experience ive ever had with any company ever. We moved from Texas to Michigan last second and we tried to find a moving company that could help us. Every company i talked to gave me HUGE quotes that we just couldn't afford. We decided to just rent a uhaul truck which would cost us just under $3,000. This company called and when I old them we were just going with Uhaul they asked if i wanted to just get a quote to see if maybe they can do better. I told them it'd have to be under 3,000 and they said they could try. The man on the phone asked what we would be moving, and as im sitting on the back porch playing fetch with my dogs i just kind of named off what i could think of. A rough estimate on how many boxes we had and then big items we have. I wasn't walking around naming off things we own as i thought we would have plenty room and that I wasnt giving him a final list of everything that had to fit in the truck. The quote they gave us was $2,939, which to me was awesome! You mean we're going to pay about the same and someone will do all the heavy lifting for me?! sign me up!!! They made me pay the deposit to schedule the move which was $1324 so we paid that over the phone then they said we would HAVE to pay the rest (half when being picked up and half when our stuff gets delivered) by Money order. I had made a comment to the supervisor i was talking to that we were going to go with the 26ft truck from uHaul and he said "oh yeah we use 26ft trucks or a semi" so I thought for sure we would be good with all of our stuff. So we paid to get it scheduled and then a couple days before the move i got a call from them to confirm everything, which makes sense. The man on the phone asks me what we have and i name off what i can think of off the top of my head. The man then goes to tell me that we dont have enough room in the truck for all of our stuff...I asked how that is if we have a 26ft truck. Turns out we dont have a whole truck, we only had between 300 and 400 square foot in a truck shared with other loads. They were saying that we could pay MORE for more room in the truck and i REFUSED to give this company any more money and it was to last minute to cancel since he called only a couple days before we were set to move. So we just had to figure it out. I tried calling the supervisor (since he made sure to give me his personal number and said i could reach him at any time and he would be so willing to help with anything i needed) he didnt answer and when i texted him to call me back. He said he was on the phone with another client and he'd call me back. Spoiler alert I never heard from him again. So since I wasn't about to give these scammers any more money we had to end up renting a uhaul anyways and carry whatever they wouldn't take.
So the day before we move comes and i get a call from a company called Perfectly Fast Moving. I was VERY confused because they said they would be at our house the next day to pick up our stuff. Turns out that Brightside is a company that contracts out other people to move you. The next day when they showed up and i showed them the things we had for them to move they said that the dressers we had werent the size that Brightside put on the list of items, and that the boxes were to big as well. So they said that it would cost extra because we would be taking up extra space in the truck, again im not spending any more money on this that i was quoted. We had also already gotten the 2 money orders for the pickup and drop off so we didnt have any way to add money to them. We had to end up just putting everything they could fit in the small space they had allotted for the quote we had gotten. Whatever was left we had to try to squish into our uhaul we rented. We ended up having to leave ALOT of stuff behind because we had no way of fitting it anywhere. When they asked us for payment and we told them we had the money orders they said they do not accept money orders...luckily for us they called their boss and explained the situation and they were able to take it. After everything was packed up and they were ready to leave i asked how long it should take to get our stuff in michigan and the man said no longer than 14 days. Here we are 3 weeks later and we JUST got our stuff. Thank god we are staying with family for a little while and didnt need it right away. When i got the call this morning it was yet again another group of people from a different company delivering. They told me they DO NOT accept anything except Zelle or Cash. I told him i dont have either of those and only have the money order. This man was not going to give us our stuff unless we had cash or Zelle even though the main company said we HAD to have money orders. Luckily we were able to borrow the cash from my in laws and just give them the money order. Overall this was one of the most stressful experiences i've ever had!
