hopefully those reports wont fall into oblivion. Scammers have hundred of thousands of fake mobile number. Maybe it is time for all providers to blocked those scammers. I understand that Vodafone, O2, Orange need momeny but they are allowing scammers to put bad reputations on their company, so unless shareholders are more important... time to act.

I've been using Who Called Me for years, and the service has always been really helpful. It's never once asked for payment. It seems some people are being redirected elsewhere, or are clicking on ads and then coming here to moan about other businesses.

The best service for checking unknown numbers! Such a shame that Google has started promoting Phonley, which steals numbers from you, and instead of punishing them, Google actually boosts them in the search results.

Good informative site
I searched for websites that allow searches for numbers that cold call you. This website was one of the top and I believe I've used it before. The site is informative and allows for comments, which does help others know what they might be dealing with. There are some negative comments about this company, and yes everyone has there own experiences, but mine was all positive. The information on the site is helpful and if more people use the site to report dodgy numbers, it will be even more helpful to others.

Before the current owners of this site I would have given 5stars. I’m assuming it was taken over or owners just decided to focus on selling ads. Really needs to go back to simple way to enter a suspect number rather than a fee paying company add popping up first.

Thank you for your feedback. The adverts on our site are managed automatically through Google Adsense, so we don’t directly control which companies appear. If you notice an advert leading to a paid service for number searches, please let us know and we’ll make sure to block that advertiser in Google.
Our service is completely free, and it’s really important to us that using our site remains safe and straightforward for everyone.
Looks like the Clarity UK scam…
Looks like the Clarity UK scam operation has taken over this site with their usual scummy operation,
misidentifies your own number, states you are outside of the UK scams you with a 50p look up charge, obtains your credit card details and signs you up to an unauthorised subscription for £48. It's an absolute con, don't use.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about the negative experience you had. We want to make it absolutely clear that Who Called Me has no connection with Clarity UK or their advertising practices.
Unfortunately, it seems that Clarity UK purchased ads on Google which redirected users from trusted services including ours and this has unfairly impacted our reputation. We are already taking steps to report these misleading ads to Google.
Who Called Me has never charged for phone number lookups or signed anyone up to unauthorised subscriptions. Our service remains completely independent, transparent and free to use.

What's going on with Who Called Me?
Three points: One I used to use this service almost daily. Two the numbers I'm getting generally say no info on this number. Three the site is defaulting to Wotcha for no good reason so I'm getting very annoyed.

Sometimes a number will show as “no info” simply because no one from the community has reported it yet, we rely on user contributions to build the caller profile.
Don't bother
I'm in the UK and connected to a UK VPN but it has VPN blocking software that prevents me from visiting this site. Doesn't hesitate to try to flog its mobile app though.
I could disconnect my VPN but I won't. I'll just go use another website that doesn't behave badly.

We recently introduced VPN blocking due to a significant increase in fake reports and misuse of our service from outside the UK. Since VPNs often mask the true location of users, our system may sometimes incorrectly block genuine UK visitors. We know this can be inconvenient, but it’s necessary to keep the platform accurate and trustworthy.
Please note that our app is completely free and, just like our website, available only to users in the UK. We do not charge for access to caller information.
It’s changed dramatically
It’s changed dramatically. It says that it’s a free service but no it isn’t. They want your card number or your paypal to pay them before they give you the results and they won’t tell you anything about the number. Now you have to pay then put in your email to see if the number is legitimate. It seems as shady as the number you are trying to check. Won’t use again.

Unfortunately, it seems that you may have been directed to a third-party site impersonating our service. We are aware of misleading ads placed by unrelated companies and are actively reporting them to Google.
To clarify: the genuine Who Called Me site is free, requires no payment details, and is only accessible from the UK.

I regularly used Who-called-me on my PC but now it is called Wotcha it blocks me saying I am not a resident in the UK-which I am. Please get the basics right!

They are the scam
You search for a number to see if it’s a scammer, they appear as the first result on Google and the preview looks like it has the information you’re looking for… but when you click for link it tells you you’re not a UK citizen (I am) or you’re not in the UK (still definitely here) so you have to install their app instead.
Probably so they can mine all your phone’s data.

SCAM and unverified website
I found out that my number was listed on this website by someone who stated that my number is scam. This is my personal number for more than 20 years. So basically anyone can just list someone else's number on this website without verification or proof. I will be taking legal action as they just add numbers without any verification or legal grounds or proper checks. Do not trust this website

Excellent for checking out unknown numbers/ callers that I do not answer calls to. I can then check their number out to know if they are likely to be legitimate or not in case they call back and I know if I can answer or block them.

I do not think I ever answered a call from a stranger! I always check the number on who called me and then decide whether to call back or not. It saved me a lot of time. absolutely amazing tool
