Cowboy operation, no better than a scammer selling food well past its sell by date and blaming their chosen supplier.
Any high street trader, unable to deliver what they have contracted, would give you a refund. Not 192.com! No, they blame everyone else and keep the cash, because this is their tried and tested business model.

Just paid for an occupier look up and got a years old, out of date result! Complete waste of money.
Update; 192 asked me to email them which I did. They gave me a full refund.

Trying to find the landline number for aged aunt and uncle. Everything I try comes up with 'Page not available' or 'this page may have moved'. I get it if Aunt and Uncle are ex directory, so just say so, but I don't think they are as my mother used to look their phone number up. They have not moved for 60 years so why is it so difficult to find them?
Also why are we having to pay for a service that used to be free?

Really not worth the money.
Only goes back to 2002 and what it does produce is pretty useless.
You have to purchase credit to discover further in-depth information, only to discover there isn't any. But it still cost you money to find that out.
And clicking on anything eats up that credit, sometimes without any warning that it will do so.
Pay credit to check something out, go back to it and it'll cost you the same credit again.
Edit: In response to the reply from 192.com, I'd have to disagree.
I'm aware that you only go back to 2002, but wanted to ensure others were aware how limiting your service is.
Not all links tell you it will cost credits, regardless of what you think.
Many searches cost more than 1 credit.
It will cost you credits for further information, even if there is no further information, but only after spending those credits. Quite the gamble.
The worst thing is that if you go back to something you've already paid for, you have to pay for it again!!

more like a scam than a search business you buy credits they say unused credits carry forward for 6 months next 1day none. Also 1 search a person would come up 2nd search would not come up. I had one search OF A PERSON that came up as owner of 2 houses I owned in the past. That person did not own them REALLY

Thank you for reply which proves my point. Read my review properly.I did not buy 6, I purchased 30. Only used on 3 searches the next day the credit gone. I will repeat one day the name search will come up a month leter it will not. Something is wrong. Regarding a person I searched for had nothing to do with 2 properties I owned and when I checked with Land registry this named person was never on their records, in fact the named person has never purchased a property. I even checked my own name. Yesterday search none, today same search came up. You have a major problem with your search engine yet you expect people to pay for incorrect service. That is called scam.

Following upon the response from 192.com. I purchased the background report which should have included information such as addresses, co occupants etc as shown in the sample report.
This was not the case with nothing more than the information I'd entered being shown.
This report is purchased as a package and not with credits.

It was close to 5pm, almost closing time, when I emailed and I got a prompt response, a check as to what I had done, incorrectly, instructions how to fix it and all done in minutes. Very good service from Matt.
Logged in today to discover I had 0 credits despite buying some just a few months ago. I checked and they expired just a few weeks after I paid nearly £20 for them. The fact they expire is written in easily missable small print on the package selection page and there is NOTHING on the payment screen that tells you the credits expire. The fact they expire at all is disgraceful. I'll never give them another penny.

Asked for a basic search of an old friend and her husband, and I knew they lived in Cornwall. The site told be that yes, they lived in Cornwall. Wow! So I tried to get more info, which I had to pay for, and it returned - that my friends lived in Cornwall. That's all they had. Complete Bullshit Site!

Sadly, and like many people, I never fully use the resources available to me on this site. However, I have been blessed by knowledgeable and responsive customer service representatives. This is a shout out for Matt who has given his time and experience to keep me on the straight and narrow. This site may not give you all the answers you want or need but the support you will get will be of great compensation to you.

Very poor webiste with even worse costumer service .
Phoned 192 customer service for advice. The response was excellent. Friendly, informative and resolved my difficulty quickly.
before registering it showed the name I was searching for, after that the name had 0 results

Quite obviously a con. gave me a price have a suspicion they charged me an extra when came to paying and failed to give me any details on my second request. Avoid at all costs just a fleecing operation.
