Once they have you, they will increase the price
Our initial contact with this company was very positive. They gave us a fair price for the fabrication drawings and I asked them to come to site to measure.
Within 10 minutes of them being on site, the head engineer said that they would need to come twice, and that the job was very complicated and I was very dissapointed because I had shared with them all our engineering drawings and FULL background of the situation and therefore as far as I was concerned I had been fully open with the magnitude of the job
To make matters worse, the day after they took the measurements they decided to increase the price by 6 x times, and at that point I had no choice because technically they had already done some of the work, and it would have taken me a lot longer to engage another steel company
I am also trying to find out HOW quickly they can produce the drawings / come to finish the measuring process but they wont tell me
They know I am keen to have the drawings to shop around for the steel but they also know that I wont be able to until they deliver the drawings.
I have already paid them a subtantial amount of money upfront for the drawings: unbelievable.
It is all very dissapointing, we need the work done urgently and they wont even commit to deliver the work to any given deadline

First of all thank you for your honest review.
We feel that the rating you gave us is unfair. The engineer who visited the site advised that the drawings provided to him did not match the steelwork already built on site quite significantly, meaning the drawings provided were of no use to us. We therefore had to review the cost as the task became more laborious.
The updated quote was transparent and had no hidden cost and it was issued to you for review. You had an option to go to other contractors if you were not satisfied with the cost but you have decided you wanted to proceed with the services and phoned to pay for the works the same day however this was within the last business hour on Friday. The very next business day our dedicated engineer taken paternity leave and at the end of the day you have left us a 1 star review.
Following this review we have provided the timescales of our work and detailed programme of what will happen and when. However before we even were able to start working to this programme you further spoke with our engineers and asked us to provided as built drawings for the structure built by other contractor, which we cannot provide and take the responsibility for. We therefore will be not proceeding with the works. As later discussed over the phone we have passed your request to our accounts department who will arrange the refund to you this week.
