Can’t fault the experience we had with Acorn. Dominic and all his staff were friendly and thorough. The communication throughout was very clear both verbally and in writing. The work itself was done so quickly and to such a high standard. The carpenters and painters were polite, friendly, tidy and flexible. Could not be happier with the finished product. Acorn did a fantastic job on restoring a sash window. They removed an old aluminium-framed window and installed new sliding sashes with new sash cords and pulleys. The result is great. The carpenter and painter both did an excellent job, and Dominic at Acorn replied to any queries very quickly. Highly recommend.

We have used Acorn Sash Windows before and are very pleased with the work they do, the people that work there and the price. We had old Aluminium windows (pre PVC) and have had wooden sash replacements. I would recommend them 100%. Lots of people in our local area use them and they are local.

The bespoke window provided by Acornshwindows is very elegant. It looks strong, well insulated, very well painted. Done to perfection. The installation is neat, the window seats perfectly levelled in the aperture. We appreciated Dominic's top notch project management - precise measurements, securing and delivering the window in our tight schedule during the pandemic.
His window installers (Alex and his collague) were a pleasure to work with.

Pawel arrived on time and worked diligently to get the job done. He’s a very competent window fitter/ joiner and we were very pleased. He’s also a very nice guy. We have had 8 old sashes replaced with modern double glazed units, all by Acorn. Really high quality finish on all, it’s recommended you get the paintwork done by them too as this was superb and Mario seemed to be somewhat an artisan of his craft. Great work thanks.

We commissioned Acorn to replace six sash windows and one casement window with new double-glazed windows within (in the case of the six sashes) the original box frames. They have done an excellent job and, a few weeks on, and during a cold snap, I can confidently say it has made a big difference to the level of warmth in rooms that were previously chilly during the winter. Three of the windows were probably over a hundred years old, severely warped and with frames covered in several layers of not very well-applied paint. This meant a huge amount of work for Simon, the lead carpenter and then Ionut, who did the decorating. But they went at it with remarkable patience, good humour and a very high level of care and attention to detail. They were very pleasant and easy people to have around over a two week period and made every effort to avoid any mess or disruption. Another positive aspect of our experience was that Acorn were the only one of the four sash window companies we spoke to who appeared to have a genuine interest in and understanding of sustainability and the provenance of the wood they use, which was very important for us. Overall, they come across as a very skilled and conscientious outfit who take a great deal of pride in their professional standards. I would strongly recommend them.

Our house is old, and nothing was straight. Alex, the carpenter, was wonderful.

I used Acorn in September for the replacement of all the sash windows in a first floor flat, 10 windows in total. The experience with Dominic and his team was great, I had a number of companies in to provide quotes and Acorn were the most reasonable and most thorough in their assessment of the work.

The work itself was done to a great standard, Alex and Mario were a pleasure to have in the house, always asking for my opinion on the work and happily making changes if asked, as well as making sure the house was kept neat and tidy at the end of each day.

The quality of the finish is great and the minor snags were dealt with promptly and without fuss.

Would highly recommend Acorn to anybody looking to get their windows replaced.

Dominic and his team have repaired and draught-proofed our sash windows, both ancient and modern, and also installed a new casement window, and a new basement door. The whole process was carried out with great professionalism, from the initial estimates to the final completion. Our home is a large (five-storey) early Victorian terraced building, and most of the windows needed care and attention. The basement door was rotten and needed complete replacement.
All the work was clearly detailed and priced, so we knew exactly what was going to be done. It was not the cheapest quote we had, but we were delighted to pay a little more for the reassurance of knowing that the job would be done on time and precisely according to the specification. It was carried out by two different carpenters, who were punctual, polite and a pleasure to have working in the house. I would not hesitate to recommend Acorn Sash Windows for any similar exercise. A job well done!

The windows were installed and painted with minimum disruption. Carpenter and painter were both prompt, efficient and courteous. The service is expensive but the finished product is of extremely high quality and we are very satisfied.

The whole job from survey to fitting to painting was done very diligently and professionally. The team were unfailingly polite, tidy and pleasant to deal with, and we're very happy with the end result.

I had a great experience with Acorn Sash Windows Ltd recently. After saying they were really busy and couldn't come for 2 weeks to repair a broken sash cord they were then able to sort things out to fit me in the next day! Alex turned up on time, was courteous, friendly and super-efficient. He did a great job and left the place spotless. The whole experience was great and was delighted that they went above and beyond to squeeze the job in so quickly! I thought the fee was very reasonable too. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again.
