Advanced Dental Care - Ignorance Beyond Belief
Trustpilot apparently enjoyed my first review of Advanced Dental Care of Citrus Park so much that they urged me to write another. Happy to oblige! Here’s a little gem featuring plus-size office manager Aly Guyton, who truly deserves the spotlight.
On the morning of my 11 a.m. appointment, I stopped by the office at 9:30 a.m., just to see if they had an earlier opening. The door was locked, lights off—clearly, no one was there. Odd, considering their posted hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. I shrugged it off and went to Walmart.
Minutes later, my companion called to say someone from Advanced Dental Care had just phoned our home to remind me about my 10 a.m. appointment. "I don’t have a 10 a.m. appointment," I told her. "It’s at 11. And I was just there—they weren’t even open!"
It got even better. When I arrived just before 11, office manager Aly Guyton greeted me with, “You missed your 10 o'clock appointment.”
"My appointment was for 11," I corrected her.
Her response? “I know, but I wanted you to come in at 10. I called your house.”
Let that sink in. A dental office manager independently decided to move my appointment, didn’t tell me, then blamed me for missing it.
The real kicker came moments later when I questioned why my regular cleaning scheduled by the dentist, had mysteriously turned into a costly “maintenance cleaning”—conveniently not covered by insurance. When I objected to the sudden switch by front office personnel, the dental assistant scolded me loud enough for the whole office to hear, and Aly Guyton promptly called me "disrespectful" and ordered me to leave. While I froze there, stunned, she turned to an assistant and said, “Call the police.”
Somehow, I avoided an arrest record that day—but just barely.
PS: By the way, have you ever wondered why healthcare-related companies tend to hire obese, slovenly workers rather than those whose physical appearance might suggest some interest in health, fitness, and positive self-image? Another topic for another day.
