Booking staff need training

I had an apt today for a scan. Left home 2 hours before the apt time to travel a 45 minute journey.
Unfortunately I got caught up in a serious crash and after 30 min sitting in traffic nerves set in so I called to let clinic know I could be a few minutes late. Guy on phone took no details and hung up . After another short while I called again got a nice girl who said she would inform clinic . After one and a half hours sitting in traffic I called again to see if I could get a later apt as I knew I wouldn't make it in time. This time guy on phone said there were no later appointments after trying to explain the whole situation he said I would have to re book AND repay. Okay that's their policy I get it but no give for my. Circumstances . He was more.concerned in getting my card details for a further payment anxious enough about having the scan but then to have soneone more concerned in taking payment not an once of empathy disgraceful would give no stars if i could

No puedo acceder a mis informes desde el cambio a Affidea…

Antes Affidea Torrent era Clínica Atenea, y tenía mi usuario y contraseña, guardaba citas, informes etc... AL cambiar, no pude acceder al usuario. Envié mail hace 6 meses, llamé... y entendía que el cambio requería tiempo. Y esperé. Aún hoy, 6 meses después y varios mails y llamadas no puedo acceder, no puedo dar de alta otro usuario porque es el mismo mail y no me deja recuperar la contraseña. Lo peor es que nadie sabe decirme nada, nunca me contestan y no se soluciona. En fin, una gestión de datos nefasta. NECESITO acceder a mis informes médicos del año pasado y no puedo.

Dispicable & untrustworthy, ZERO Stars if possible.

The 1 star goes to the staff who carried out the scans. They were lovely and helpful. However, the appointment booking team behaved with me like scam artists on commission as if they were employed by the team from the Wolf of Wallstreet. Their advice, lies and assurances caused my Insurance to be invalidated, and Affidea profited at my expence to nearly €700. When I spoke with the team afterwards I found the staff to be typically very very rude, one of which hung up the phone when I asked to speak to a manager. The Quality team (2 members) that I spoke with were useless and not very understanding or helpful. Although the first Quality person that I spoke with said she would speak with the team and advise them on such matters, I do not believe that this happened. Also, in confirming that retraining was required, she indirectly confirmed that I was wronged, but with no financial compromise being offered, this was meaningless.

Dishonest company

I got an mri appointment with a private hospital through my GP so it was free. The appointment is for next week. Today Affidea rang me and tried to say my appointment is cancelled but I can book another one with them as I will be put on a long waiting list if I don't look for a new appointment with Affidea. Of course this would cost 200euro. When I kept asking questions they told me to ring the private hospital which I did and my appointment was not cancelled after all. I would advise anyone to steer clear of a company that does that.

If I could give them zero stars I…

If I could give them zero stars I would. They never shared the link in order for me to access my scans and after talking to customer service who are so rude and unhelpful I still don't have the link to my phone or email and I have a consultants appointment which I have been waiting on for months. Such a joke. Single handedly slowing down the medical system with their poor service.

Excellent Service from Start to Finish
I visited Affidea in July 2025 following injuries from a fall.
From the time I arrived, the two staff working on reception were kind, attentive and did everything they could to help.
Once the appropriate forms were filled, I was immediately seen by a lovely nurse, Roisín who was a real credit to Affidea and to the nursing profession - caring and really put me at ease.
I was assessed by Dr Elbagir Mahmoud and referred for a scan. The scan was performed by two wonderful radiologists, and read by Dr Elbagir, who was funny but very professional, helping to calm my nerves.
The entire experience took less than 1hour 20 minutes.
I left feeling so much better, having gone through a very traumatic day. I want to give a huge thank you to all the staff at Affidea Cork. They could not have done any more for me yesterday.

Ridiculous

I injured my knee a few months back and decided instead of waiting for months with the public sector I would use affidea (swords) for my MRI. I got the scan over 8 weeks ago and I was told everything would be sent over to my GP soon( report, scan disc ect) . I rang my GP 2 weeks ago to check everything was in place and I could collect it. They said they hadn’t received anything bar the report which I already had . So giving that I rang affidea immediately and requested it to be sent to my GP ASAP, which they apologised for the near 2 months delay and assured me everything would be sent over that day. Fast forward 2 weeks Now the day before the consultation, no disc has been sent and when I rang and asked them to have a copy ready for me so I could collect it they had asked me to pay for the copy?????? Was the €305 for the MRI not enough? considering they haven’t sent over the disc you would assume they would just hand it over no charge. They have delayed my surgery by at least a month so far and it could be more, depending on how the surgeon feels about proceeding without all the relevant scans and report. I will be taking this further as they have extended my time out of work by far too long

Get signage for Portlaoise

It was my first time going for a MRI in Portlaoise so I have never been before. There is absolutely no signagure apart from a little sign, however as its in the Parkside shopping centre, there was no mention of this clinic. Every other clinic on level 2 is detailed outside. As a result of not being able to find the clinic, I arrived onetime, not the 20mins beforehand but was told iii needed to reschedule. Get signs !! If the clinic was advertised I wouldn't have been late and had to reschedule, which impacts my health and work life.

Rude staff with no patient care training

I went for an mri on the 31st May, when I booked my scan the call taker was extremely rude and when I attended it was like I was an inconvenience to the receptionist. The two people that I met while getting the scan though were lovely and very helpful. Then the receptionist dismissed my request for a disc which I needed for my doctor, saying that's not how it is done. I then had to phone a week later after I found out that is in fact how it is done and had a rude person on the other end of the phone more concerned with a conversation he was having with his colleague and he hung up on me while I was in the middle of asking a question.
This company needs to train there staff on patient care. It's obvious they have had zero.

Had an MRI in Tallaght earlier this evening. I don't do great with enclosed spaces, but the 2 staff members were absolutely brilliant.
They could not have done any more in the way of helping me, made such a difference. Thank you.

The staff at reception in Dundrum are…

The staff at reception in Dundrum are rude, the parking situation is problematic and the person who administered my scan made no attempt to explain the procedure, just barked confusing instructions at me. This is an expensive commercial service, they could at least have the decency to treat patients like customers - and try to remember that people feel vulnerable when they're dressed only in a hospital gown

Patient care is 0

Patient care is 0 percentage. I stood at the reception trying to digest the situation, all the 2 staffs involved cared for is for me to leave the reception, even when I told the staff that I was experiencing palpitations, she responded “I don’t care, it’s not my problem” both continued to say that if I don’t leave they will get a security to remove me.

11 year old needed X-ray for wrist…

11 year old needed X-ray for wrist after sports injury. Went in Saturday lunchtime and was seen within 10 minutes, xray complete 10 mins later and doctor reviewed with follow up appointment. In and out in less than 30 minutes. It was well worth the money. Loads of parking, friendly staff and doctor explained the injury very clearly.

El 23 de abril de 2025 tuve que repetir una resonancia porque la primera la hicieron mal. Además me indicaron que esta segunda, que se hizo una semana después, debía hacerse con contraste, lo que me tuvo esa semana intrigado pensando que en la primera habían encontrado algo grave. Volvieron a confundirse ya que no se necesitaba contraste sino rectificar la primera. Total, una chapuza.

Absolutely incompetence is how Affidea…

Absolutely incompetence is how Affidea is best described.
They are all about money, money , money.
Most of the staff have poor English and have difficulty in understanding simple requests.
I have contacted them seven times looking for a copy of a report and each time they come up with different excuses. The MRI procedure was fine but their follow up and communication leave a lot to be desired.
