bad bad company DO NOT BUY FROM HERE bought a bmw 1 series convertible the roof doesnt work the shock absorbers snapped the DPF filter was previously welded and done badly because after i bought the car that broke. the repairs cost
me 1200.00 and within 6 weeks of buying the car ive had to buy a new car. my garage actually lifted
the car on the rack dragged me from there waiting room and showed me the shock absorbers were shot to pieces that the whole underneath of the engine was completely
rusted. whats worse is i was putting my children in the car uner the impression it was safe! tried to them they dont reply wont take any responsibility for any ‘3 month warranty’ despite them declaring i had warranty when i bought the car. reported them to watch dog motor ombudsman now

Avoid at all cost . Was sold a car that is not road worthy.in fact very dangerous. Came with a so called genuine MOT ? . It’s going to cost me a small fortune to get it put right. Have emailed the company several times with no response. How they can rip people off like they do should not be allowed. I am disabled and now have no transport. Just goes to show these people don’t give a toss as long as they get your money

After all the bodges on my car I then heard from vosa that I needed mot inspection as mot cancelled ,inspected needed about another 4 k spent on it severely corroded cracked transfer box spilling oil had to get rid of car lost a fortune well conned avoid or get car checked immediately or take the risk

An absolute waste of time after they promised the car is in excellent condition 10/10. Drove down their garage and had a look @ an A8 i was interested in and big surprise there… the 10/10 vehicle promises became 7/10 in my opinion. I asked them over the phone if there are any kind of fluid leaks, bodywork in good condition etc and been guaranteed the car is in pristine condition and no better car like that one out on the market. An absolute bulshit full of oil leaking bottom of the engine, missing under-trays but been told they can order them 😂 no problem..multiple scratches deep to bare metal, roof trims lacquer peeling and the list go on. Not something that someone can accept at a vehicle worth 15K. All this been said I would recommend you all to read the reviews and pay attention to what people’s said here and preferably to avoid this place. Good luck

My visit to affordable cars was great. Very impressive showroom - certainly different to all other car dealerships I've been to in the past! Smiley Syed was very generous with his time. Happy to answer all questions and allowed me space when needed to see the vehicle on my own. He was even happy to accompany me on two separate test drives, just to make sure I was absolutely happy with the vehicle. If you see a vehicle you want, do not hesitate to go and visit - you won't be disappointed!

It needed an ac regas 2 weeks later but I rang the garage and they sent me to one of their garages and sorted it while I waited.

Good overall experience can’t complain
Got my first car from here no issues they let me test drive a variety of different cars. And talked me through all the different models and types helping me choose something both affordable on price and cheap on insurance. I also got 12 months AA breakdown cover however I don’t see myself using this as the car is so reliable. This is a genuine review no complaints from me

I recently had a deeply disappointing experience while purchasing my first car, and I feel compelled to share my story to warn potential customers about the unprofessional and sexist behaviour I encountered.

I found a car that I really liked and decided to test drive it. During the test drive, I noticed a weird sound, which was mentioned to me, and I was assured it would be fixed before the purchase. Two days after viewing the car, my boyfriend and I went to collect it. Jay, the guy who handled the paperwork, repeatedly ignored me and only spoke to my boyfriend, despite knowing I was the one buying the car. He even asked my boyfriend twice if the car was really under my name, and after I paid for it, he shook my boyfriend's hand instead of mine. This blatant sexism was extremely off-putting, but I chose to ignore it because I really wanted the car.

Three days later, the car started making a strange noise again. We called Jay, who asked us to bring the car in the following Monday. Since I couldn't take time off work, my boyfriend took it in. Despite Jay initially suggesting Monday, he later told my boyfriend he was too busy to look at it. My boyfriend insisted on bringing it in as he had no other day off, and Jay eventually agreed. Upon arrival, a mechanic examined the car and advised not to drive it back as it could break down completely, meaning I'd lose all my money.

The car was kept for over a week at their mechanic, who replaced the chainbelt and water pump. While I'm glad these issues were addressed, it's unacceptable that I was sold a faulty car in the first place. To add insult to injury, over a month later, I still hadn't received my V5C. When I contacted the DVLA, they informed me that the garage never sent it off, so I had to pay £25 to get it myself. Jay refused to reimburse me for this expense, despite it being his fault.

Overall, my experience was marred by Jay's lack of respect and professionalism and the blatant sexism I faced. I want others to be aware of this before considering doing business with them. The attitude and service I received were completely unacceptable, and I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

This dealership told me I wasn't allowed an AA vehicle inspection, when they are AA approved and have to meet the AA conduct standards.
I had to involve the AA because they didn't want to return my deposit after they denied me having the car inspected.
They lied to the AA about the inspection, lied about the deposit and are in my opinion completely untrustworthy.
Do not buy at a distance with this company, you can't trust them. If you pay a deposit, do it with a credit card. Confirm everything you discussed with them in an email and keep all copies of any communication you get from them.
Luckily I had evidence they lied, which I provided to the AA and I was in the process of issuing a small claims court action against them when the AA were finally successful in getting my money back.
Read as many reviews about this company as you can, on here and Google, then decide if you want to spend money with them, I wish I had done that first!

Avoid at all cost they sold me a car with serious hidden defects. Brake pads fitted over dangerously worn brake discs, brake sensor removed and the wrong coolant which now needs to be flushed. Buyer beware. Please read all the other one star reviews on this rogue dealer.

I strongly advise against engaging with this company if you value the safety of yourself and your family. My personal experience with them has been alarming and potentially life-threatening. They sold me a car without disclosing its full history, which resulted in a situation that endangered both myself and my children.

Upon further investigation, I discovered that the car had previously been sold at a salvage auction, was stolen and subsequently recovered, and had sustained significant damage. This critical information was withheld from me during the purchasing process, and I would have never knowingly chosen to acquire such a compromised vehicle.

Efforts are underway to return the car and secure a refund promptly. However, should this resolution not materialize in a timely manner, I am prepared to involve the authorities, including the police, due to the inherent danger posed by the vehicle.

Additionally, I have taken steps to report this matter to Trading Standards for their attention to potential dealer fraud and criminal activity.

It is my hope that by sharing this information, others can be spared from similar risks and experiences.

We went in on the off chance to have a look last week, spoke to Jay on Saturday. Very knowledgeable and knew their stuff, had a test drive there was no pressure for a sale. We ended up coming away with a part exchange, good price offered for ours. Thank you very much and would highly recommend Affordable Car Centre Bedford.

Got me a fordy fiesta from here. Very good car had for 3 months and now buying second car for a family member.

My experience is in two distinct parts. Firstly I am very pleased with the car I purchased here - excellent price and condition. I have since taken it to a manufacturer's dealer who have done a major service and confirmed that it is in very good condition - just some corrosion on one rear spring which I decided to get replaced out of caution.

Secondly the not so good part. A few days after making the purchase I phoned them up to arrange an extended 3rd party warranty that they sell. After reading the small print I decided to cancel this within the statutory 14 day cooling off period. Auto Select won't deal with me direct as it was purchased through Affordable Cars, and the latter are refusing to refund my money for the warranty, claiming that the policy started the week before the start date clearly stated on the certificate, placing my cancellation outside the 14 day window. Since everything is in black and white on the policy and the law is very clear when the 14 days starts this is laughable. I have contacted Citizens Advice who are referring the matter to Trading Standards and it looks as if I may have to go through the Financial Ombudsman. As the company doesn't have a leg to stand on it seems to indicate a business suicide wish which is hard to understand. Why would you want to wreck your reputation in this way when you have nothing to gain?

You know that scene in Matilda where mr wormwood laughs manically as he puts sawdust in the engines and runs back the clocks… well that’s the image I get when thinking of buying this van. It had a new badly fitted bumper for the wrong van, awful paintwork and a quick valet. We brought a VW transporter shuttle via distance selling from Affordable Car Centre an AA approved garage on 18/01/24. It quickly became apparent there were issues with it and it has been missold. We got a local mechanic to come and view it and he told us to send it back. We called the garage we bought it from and he assured us the mechanic was wrong, told us he’d put a new engine in it if that’s what he was told to do and basically wouldn’t take it back without us driving it down and we’d been told not to drive it. We then got a proper AA inspection to confirm the issues in black and white and honestly it was laughable, they mark in red amber and green and the only green was it had 2 keys 😂 so we called him told him we had an AA report saying it was undrivable and asked him to arrange collection. The van had an excessive oil leak and a steering column leak. It was obvious that someone throughout the sale knew about it as all the fluid had been filled up to a dangerous level and we were told that if we’d drove it down the motorway it either would’ve overheated or the power steering would fail. On top of this the rear passenger door didn’t open from the inside so if we’d been in a drivers side crash we wouldn’t be able to get our children out. He said okay it will be in the next 2-5 days (from Tuesday 30th Jan). We hadn’t had an update so on Friday I called back and was told it would be Monday or Tuesday and they would message the day before to confirm with a time. Sunday evening I got a message requesting my full address so I asked will it be tomorrow? No response. I called on the Monday and was told he had made an error and not told them it was long wheelbase and it would be collected Wednesday, we told him we’d now been without a vehicle a week and it needed to be collected Tuesday, he said he would try and he’d be in touch. Surprise surprise Tuesday he called adamant it could only be Wednesday. I found multiple quotes for people who could collect it that day for £300 (£100 more than he was paying) he refused and told me I’d have to cover the full £300 if I did that which I refused. He then said the man would be here first thing Wednesday, then by 5pm Tuesday it would be 12pm, at 12:30pm I called him and the man was apparently stuck in Leeds and would be 2 hours, 2:30 came he never turned up. I also sent over the bank details so he could set up payment which he didn’t do. At 4pm he said if the driver wasn’t there to collect at 6pm he’d send over the full payment. At 5:30pm the driver turned up to collect, we called the garage to release the funds and he said he hadn’t set it up and could send £5k then and the balance an hour later, he sent the 5k and the driver then expected us to let him go with the van. We told him not a chance and kept hold of the v5 offered him a brew and told him he’d have to wait for the balance to be transferred. An hour later it was finally done. We’ve had no apology we’ve been told lie after lie. We asked for a new MOT prior to sale which was refused because it had 8m left, then we were told the AA must be wrong because the garage they’d bought it off had had an AA inspection done but couldn’t show us this, then it was that he’d had an off the record MOT done just before we had it but he couldn’t provide a record of this either. The problem with lies Kamran is eventually you can’t keep them straight. Honestly will be posting this review on every forum I can find. You’ve cost us £200 in transport, £193 for an AA check, £40 for a local mechanics check & £31 insurance and more importantly you knowingly put my boys in danger! Don’t buy from this garage.

What could they do to improve? Find a new vocation. Possibly the circus 🤡
