If employees are a reflection of…
If employees are a reflection of company values, please consider this example before choosing AWP for your projects. Me: Pro driver of 30 yrs, well over 100k Uber trips, delivered as many pizzas as there are stars in the sky, built custom homes from the ground up for 5 yrs, scored a perfect on the test to get into the military at 22 years old, etc, just to establish credibility that I know e-x-a-c-t-l-y what I'm doing, and am no stranger to a construction zone. I'm not some aloof, mindless narcissist wandering around with no awareness doing silly stuff.
I was dropping off outside the stadium today(8/23/26)at 12pm, madness, as usual. One of your trucks was directly outside the front door to the baseball stadium on 4th/Jackson, I saw some tape all the way to the right, in line with the curb where I was at. There was 1 lane, I pulled into one of the open metered spaces. NOT inside any barricade, NOT into some place that was marked. To say that it was not entirely obvious what your employees were doing, would be a massive understatement. They aren't anywhere near me, your classic construction workers not really doing anything, no direction in terms of what they would like you to do. There was a younger white male, early twenties maybe, I think he had a vest on, didn't look like he got his hands dirty too much, NOT talking about him. The OTHER employee, the sloppy larger one with the goofy Canseco wrap arounds from like 30 yrs ago, looked to be a Hispanic male in possibly his mid twenties, he starts to come from rather far away closer to me, I can tell by his face and posture that he's not pleased with me, but he just kind of keeps mean mugging me and working his way closer to me, and then he's right outside my passenger door and I can hear him running his mouth so I open up the window, and it's just right into him cussing at me, threatening me, insulting me, basically giving me the vibe that if I don't get out of there he's going to get physical with me. Somebody needs to educate this young man, in a number of ways. He's made quite a few miscalculations. The first thing that kind of jumped out at me, is that he seems to think that obesity somehow magically equates to some level of physical dominance/prowess? Some interesting mental gymnastics there. Furthermore, having such a miserable life to the degree that you're ready to crash out over something so ridiculous, that definitely does not equate to you being some kind of tough guy. He did make A decent calculation, in that the healthy, wealthy, clean guy in the nice brand new white Camry is not going to crash out because some kid hates the fact that he chose a job where he cooks in the sun, and has to go back to his dumpy place in West valley, where he will continue to fester in his baseless, misplaced resentment. Ya know your brain just don't really work too good when it's being fueled by the McDonald's dollar menu every single meal. This young man needs to fast for about 3 months, and then come out the other end realizing how much his diet affects his mental. I didn't even really say anything bad to him, didn't cuss at him, didn't get into it, just kept saying "Ok man, I'm going to grab your information here, no worries." He was threatening that he was going to try and get me in trouble with Uber and say that I was drunk driving or some kind of nonsense, just a real disgusting, intellectually dishonest, knee-jerk display of a man incapable of controlling his emotions. These underdeveloped little kids with this kind of mindset really drain you. It's some weird, vampiric sort of energy thing where they know they can get a little bump in their hormones or endogenous chemicals by, in their mind, "dominating" you because subconsciously they know good and well that your life is just too good to indulge them, and they're safe. It's a really weird thing. Hopefully this doesn't fully manifest itself while he's on the clock, maybe y'all can get it to where he doesn't further embarrass you.
