Very good service, very informed and efficient workforce, excellent communications, value for money price. Would recommend.

Bartlett used to be a fair, reliable and legitimate arborist. No longer! As a long-term customer, here are two examples of their rising prices and declining service.

1) Last year we asked for an estimate to trim three ornamental fruit trees in our private yard. The quote came back with a whopping 48% increase from two years earlier. When I asked the Bartlett arborist about it, he gave some gobbledygook non-response and basically said 'take-it-or-leave-it.'

2) This past weekend, in a common area managed by our HOA, a large tree in front of my house lost a major branch blocking my deck and causing fence damage. There was no rain or wind at the time – just a big unexpected crash.

A new Bartlett arborist came out to assess. But instead of providing a quote, they suggested the HOA use another company, citing concerns about timing, equipment availability and electrical wiring.

- First and foremost, with our HOA as a long-term client, I would have expected Bartlett to develop workable solutions, not refer us to another vendor.

- The tree that fell had been evaluated three times by Bartlett since 2024, when another major branch had fallen. All three times, Bartlett said the tree was still viable and did not need to be removed. I realize that nothing is 100% when it comes to nature, but clearly Bartlett's assessment was wrong: this tree should have been removed in 2024.

- Regarding timing: The arborist said Bartlett only has one cherry-picker, required for the tree removal, in our area. Interesting considering their own website says "substantial resources" for storm damage.

- The Bartlett arborist cited the close proximity of electrical wiring as another concern. I'm 100% for safety! But another arborist company evaluating this situation did not feel that it was going to impede the work. Plus, Bartlett has certainly trimmed around the same wires multiple times in the past without expressing any concern. (It's also urban Chicago: working around wiring is just part of any job.)

Basically Bartlett abandoned us even though we are long-term customers.

Between rapidly increasing prices and lack of reliable service, I can definitively say there are better choices for arborists than Bartlett. In fact, based on these circumstances, I wonder if they're leaving the residential market altogether?

Bartlett is my longtime source for great tree service. Over the years, they’ve handled spray programs, limb removal and total tree removal. Today, Arnabb (sp?) and Miguel took special care in planting a new tree in my front yard. Despite the hot weather, they took extra time to ensure the tree was planted perfectly. I’d highly recommend Bartlett for their great employees and professionalism.

Three very respectful men did an excellent job of removing my Bhutan Pine, in temperatures of over 30 degrees. They cleared up well and gave us bags of the pulped wood chips

We really appreciate our local Bartlett tree expert. He has advanced degrees in his field, is courteous, always on time, and full of great advice. Also, they have a great crew of conscientious young men - all Americans and legally hired. On the backend, it is easy to setup your account and pay bills, and even setup automatic billing online. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

Number of plants died off in our gardens, at the boundary, in 2024. Coincidentally at the same time as next door neighbours removed all the ivy around their property. We required a knowledgeable expert soil and plant analysis person to view the plants and give expert evidence as to what had killed the plants including 30 year old forsythia, climbing roses, honeysuckle, hydrangeas, lilies, magnolia, azaleas etc. His conclusion... drought in 2024???? Plant experts advised the cause was undoubtedly spray probably glyphosphate but to get plant and soil samples to confirm. Bartetts failed dismally even describing a magnolia as lilac.

Julia is a very beautiful lady so sweet & caring.She is there for you every step of the way…. I made a mistake and I was very self-conscious about my brows but thank goodness Julia came to the rescue and done an amazing job. I would recommend her to anyone!!

I arrived today at the store, parking in the car park, walking to the back of my car and placing my Certified Assistance dog on a lead. Before I could take two steps, a female assistant came out of the store and informed me that my dog was not allowed in the store!!
I enquired why. I was informed my dog sniffed a customer on the previous visit. There is a sign on the front door saying dogs are welcome on a lead.
I explained that dogs are allowed in the store, and all dogs sniff.

Then she said my dog was not allowed because another dog had made a mess in the store. I replied that it was not my dog who made the mess, where is the logic??
The manager came out of the store and told me to leave my dog in the car and go and purchase my items in the store. Despite there being a sign on the door stating that dogs are allowed on a lead.

I pointed out that there are other country stores in the area, and I do not need to use Bartlett's. I left Bartlets and purchased the dog food in Viney's on the A31. Viney's also sells solid fuel. I live between Viney's and Bartlett Blandford. Viney's being slightly closer.

When I started using Bartlett in September 2024, all was fine, letting my dog into the store, and the staff were friendly and played with my dog. Then that other dog made a mess, and a sign was placed stating dog must be on a lead. I followed the request.
From September to the following March, I spent £400 per month on solid fuel, and I purchased 2 bags of dog food every month. Plus, I purchase plant pots, bags of concrete, Kilner jars, plus other items.

I followed Bartlett's rules and was denied entry.
Despite there being a sign on the door saying dogs allowed on the lead.
