Our experience of this company has been poor to say the least.
Hung back on writing this review in the hopes they would at least make better their absolute disgusting behaviour towards consumers.
Saw a caddy on a site at some point and emailed the team, heard nothing for over a week so rang them to be told someone was in THAT day to view the exact same one.
On the evening of the call Id spoken to my husband, said yes this is the one id like etc, its ideal, just what I'm looking for to help manage self care due to chronic health issues.
First red flag turned up when deposit for the van needed to be bank transfer only, in my haste (being without a vehicle at this point for over a year, which was contributing to ill health).
All good, vehicle got 'prepped' had new MOT's 2 it had in 48 hours, valeted etc. I specifically requested the vehicle to be delivered (done this before no issues). Delivery was requested to be after work ending hours or the day of the week I'm not at work.
You can imagine my surprise when at 7pm on a Wednesday evening a gent knocked on the door, asked if we ordered a caddy, said its out the back. Bemused, I go out the back, they rush round taking night time photos of the caddy and off they go.
I rang the Beechwood to request an understanding to their delivery and ask why I wasn't informed it was arriving on this day. I was met with we're out having a meal (no surprise there as you just got a huge pay out for an absolute death-trap).
We look over the vehicle the next day and more red flags appear, rims that were so gouged and kerbed it was beyond a joke - I said to my husband its fine I don't intend on keeping them as they're shit anyway (overlooking we weren't notified of these at POS, nor was it obvious from their use of stock photos which have been retouched). There were superficial scratches all over the vehicle from front to back - not deep enough to show the British gas blue paint underneath, so I again let it slide as I was going to have the vehicle wrapped in the near future to something more attractive. Their paint jobs are just on another level - half baked, half arsed with plenty of paint coming off around high stress points.
Husband was using the vehicle a few times a week and in the 30 days we had the vehicle it just went from bad to worse. Warning light after warning light showing up and refusing to turn off.
My brother was a mechanic by trade and happened to notice that the directional tires were on the wrong way (MOT Iss) - with this awareness, a whole string of dash failures, eventually leading me to get into a detective mindset. Issues in a supposed MOT were flagging up as still obvious faults.
The stress of the delivery and findings kicked me into a Crohn's flare up and I was incredibly weak for 3 weeks while I had to play detective in what and how to resolve this - CAB and trading standards have been wonderful in their assisting process.
I had to take the vehicle to be independently checked over, now I'm not someone who doesn't understand the usual grumblings of a car, but to my horror I was made aware there were no rear brakes on the vehicle (had heard no grinding or unusual noise one may associate with this) this was marked as not being an issue on 2x MOTS provided by Beechwood Autos.
The onus was on me to provide information that these faults existed. I paid an independent person to conduct a check over as if it were an MOT so I could approach the finance company (in this instance Close Brothers - another red flag given their recent wrongful selling of car finance issues).
Beechwood upon finding out re the caddy issues attempted to say the 14 day window had passed and that we had no right to return. Close brothers thankfully supported my position. I had gotten everything to them JUST in time on the 30th day of the consumers right to refuse. Id have been screwed otherwise.
Close brothers sent an independent technician to view the vehicle, who condemned it on the spot. I/we were assured all would be fixed and sorted in a timely manner.
It is 30/6/25 as I write this and the vehicle went back to Beechwood on March 25th 2025. Husbands credit file has only just been updated after me badgering to have this issue wiped from his credit file. However we are down 2.5k from initial costs of the vehicle and down a great deal more in lost earnings.
If you are considering a vehicle from this place, please be mindful - take your own independent mechanic - However given that they clearly falsified 2 MOTS I would stay clear, your life is worth more than any saving, on any of their vehicles.
