So i took my 2 grandkids here on…
So i took my 2 grandkids here on saturday afternoon. There was no mention at check in about an issue with zhe training pool. When we got in we found the 90cm depth was now about 45cm depth. When i asked the lifegaurd what was going on he just shrugged. Some of the kids there were probably 9 or 10 and looked strange trying to learn swimming in so liitle water only coming up to there knees. Why were bookings taken if the pool was not up to standard. Can someone tell me is this a cost cutting idea ? Are we meant to accept this because we live in a poor area? How about an apology and a refund!

Edmonton leisure centre swimming pool
I was at Edmonton leisure centre in north London in the swimming pool.At 5.30 PM a staff member asked me to leave the swimming pool, Because it was a womens only session I'm disgusted and appalled. This outdated practice takes place in present .I'm thinking of termination of my membership.I paid money like everyone else to use the swimming pool.Im disgusted. The other thing is why don't they have at least one hour for men only if they have it for women.Absolutly appalled and disgusted.

Hi Antonio
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with us and leaving a review.
At Better, we love offering fun fitness and wellbeing activities for everyone to enjoy. Because women-only sessions are very popular, we offer times to allow a safe space for women to exercise in a ladies only environment if they prefer. We currently have just a 1-hour slot at Edmonton Leisure Centre on Friday late afternoons just for women, which we advertise on our timetable and booking system so customers can check this in advance.
We've also shared your suggestion with the centre to see if they can consider a men-only session
Kind regards
Rachel

As a pensioner
As a pensioner, I try before Better in Edmonton, some gyms. Most of them are quite "chaotic", I mean, a lack of management, poor or nil personal support, unclean toilets most of the time, lack of staff in the exercise or sauna areas most of the time, etc., etc. But after the joint Better, I found a great gym where I can still look up for myself in a clean and pleasant environment, in peace of mind. The only regret for me is the restriction on not being able to use the gym on Saturdays and Sundays in the morning, as I have a membership discount by my age (over 60s).

Hi Mr Hernan,
Thank you for your review!
We’re really pleased to hear that you appreciate the cleanliness and our welcoming, well-managed environment at Edmonton Leisure Centre.
It’s especially encouraging to know that this has made such a positive difference to your gym experience.
We also appreciate your feedback regarding the weekend access restrictions on the over-60s membership.
There's a possibility that you're on a saver or off-peak Membership with us, which is restricting your access at the weekends.
We’d be more than happy to explore alternative Membership options that may better suit your needs.
Thank you again for your kind words, and we’re delighted to have you as part of our community!
Warm Regards,
Kaisha

Feedback on personal experience at leisure centers
Everything's good apart from a few things I would like to bring in your attention. I reckon there are plenty of women (particularly Muslim women) especially in a few major parts of North London area (such as Edmonton, Ponders End, Southbury, around Albany Leisure center/ Turkey street) who want to join in segregated /blocked swimming sessions (time/days) exclusively for women only. If the centers can keep one or two blocked hours everyday for the ladies or at least for a couple of days a week would be great. I also believe that the members who are paying a monthly fees should not pay 30p each time for the lockers next to the pool to keep their stuffs. This is a bit annoying although the amount isn't big but should be excluded for the members. Thanks
