Barre Fit
I’m writing in to say how the barre fit classes that are taught by Pauline are amazing. Since we have had barres in the classes it has really been truly a lovely experience. It has improved my posture and has given so much flexibility that is really helping in my other classes I attend. The instructor Pauline is brilliant at teaching the techniques and is very professional about it.

I have attended Leyton Leisure Centre swimming pool. From the reception to the pool safely assistants it was competent, helpful, friendly staff. All facilities was decently clean and way above the expectation. It was a really great experience! Thanks a lot!👍🏻

Leyton Leisure Barre Fit Classes
I have been attending Barre fit classes for sometime now, and can now say that since the Centre has finally invested in proper barres it has made a huge difference. I am constantly struggling on me feet as I have no arches so having these barres really help me with my balance and strengthening the muscles in my feet. Also helps with my stability when we are doing some of the postures on one leg. My posture has also seen an big improvement as my back had become so rounded and hunched working on a desk top all day at work. Also a huge plus, is having a ballet trained instructor like Pauline who goes above and beyond by creating routines that are very artistically choreographed to fit to the music. As a total beginner to Ballet style, Pauline is very patient and makes the cIass accommodating for all levels, I feel privileged as its the only Centre I know of that have the barres. Well Done Leyton Leisure for sorting these out finally.

Fabulous new Barre Fit Classes with Pauline
Leyton Leisure Centre now offers Barre Fit classes with Pauline Burrell 3 times a week. This is the only centre I know of locally that runs classes like this. Based on ballet technique, they are fantastic for building strength, balance and flexibility for all levels and abilities. The recent purchase of the barres for these classes, has really enabled me to build my strength and improve my posture - particularly where I have longstanding injuries. Pauline's curation of great classical and more modern music for her carefully put together barre sequences mean that the class is both enjoyable and relaxing. Come prepared to focus hard and attend regularly and you will see the benefits within only a few sessions!

I booked the swimming lessons over the easter holiday which was the start date !! For my surprise they change the times with no warning!! The manager said she will try to get refund for that !! But still nothing!! Theres need to be more communication!!

Poor Sauna
The Sauna has old and worn out wood, with big black patches of mould. Not great! So didn't want to spend any time in there inhaling that! Not the most clean changing rooms either.
Its a shame the gym is seperate building from the sauna/pool, and this could be better clarified online as I initially wanted to do both, but felt it was too cumbersome to change lockers and clothes twice!

Having fun at Leyton leisure
I find all the staff at Leyton Leisure very nice , helpful and very welcoming.
Having only one toilet facility for both male and female upstairs where the studios are is really unacceptable. I hope this will be looked into .
In addition to that, waiting for Barrefit equipment has been a longstanding issues .
On a positive note , All the teachers are very good and fun and professional . I find Pauline’s class in particular very helpful , motivated and inspiring and encouraging. As such I did not need a surgery on my shoulder for which am very very grateful.

We are also thrilled to hear that you are finding pleasure in our Fitness Classes. We take pride in the quality of our instructors and their ability to foster an enjoyable and supportive learning environment.
However, we are very sorry to hear that we only offer one toilet where the studio is located in the centre. I will ensure to pass on your concerns in regard to this issue to the centre management team. In regard to the Barre Fitness Class, Unfortunately, due to the limited storage space available at the GLL centres, we currently do not have the capacity to accommodate the necessary equipment. Additionally, given the limited number of Barre sessions offered at present, we feel that allocating space and resources for such equipment is not the best solution at this time.
I also wanted to mention that when we considered purchasing the equipment, each barre would need to be 1.5 meters in length, meaning we would have required a substantial quantity to adequately equip the class. With the constraints on storage space and class availability, we’ve had to carefully consider these factors.
We genuinely appreciate your understanding and assure you that we are always looking for ways to improve and expand our offerings. Should circumstances change in the future, we will certainly revisit this request and explore the possibility of providing the appropriate equipment.
Once again, thank you for your enthusiasm and support for the program, and we look forward to continuing to provide you with a rewarding fitness experience.

I have been attending Barre fit classes regularly and it’s the amazing class for your flexibility and also mind and I’ve noticed so many benefits from this class especially from the instructor she is the most amazing teacher and so lovely that makes the class even better.but as I have given a two star rating because we are missing the main element of the class which is the Barres which we was told we be provided but that’s the downside of it as I would have given a full five star rated.

No bars in the barre fit classes!
Barre fit classes don’t have any bars so you don’t get the full experience. I’ve been attending the classes for a few years now and have requested bars several times on my annual feedback and also once in an email. Nothing has been done about it and they only cost about £250 for the whole class. The sessions run 3 times a week and the instructor Pauline is fantastic (an ex professional dancer with decades of experience). The classes help with balance, range of motion and flexibility but could be so much better with the right equipment. It’s like playing tennis without the nets. I often use the class to rehab sport injuries and other ailments so it’s incredibly important to me. If you are looking for a barre class in East London, give this one a miss though until they get bars as you are only getting 1/2 the experience.

I have been attending barre fit classes…
I have been attending barre fit classes regularly it’s amazing and the best class for flexibility and my mind. The instructor is the best around. The only thing that is missing from this class is the main element the barres. We have been told for ages that we will be provided with this it’s been over a year and better has not given any.

Shower Maintenance, Cleanliness and Freeloaders
The shower maintenance is so poor - one shower was out of service for over four months. That gets fixed another goes out. Then the showers have no hot water!!
Health suite is meant to be booked and paid for but it is regularly entered by freebies - not a problem for me when enough space but frequently it fills up with freeloaders. The gym staff have to be more proactive in managing this!!
The pool does not appear to be cleaned. The changing rooms are not clean either and some of the customers should be ashamed of themselves as they leave soiled nappies for others to dispose off. Increase the cleaning please
