The gym itself is great with good…
The gym itself is great with good classes.
The WiFi is terrible which made it very difficult to join on the tablets in the reception, probably better to do it at home on the app.

Overcrowded sauna
The sauna was full of people that had not booked a session at least 6 people in the steam room had no sauna bands, and I counter 13 people in the steam room. Which makes it very uncomfortable and un hygienic to use, Which is not fair on anyone that has booked a sauna session

No baby pool available for swimbies…
No baby pool available for swimbies session and the pool is always cold. In addition the group changing room is constantly cold.

5*’s more what can I say. Bailey is an outstanding team member, gave me a tour of each facility, which was so clean and in immaculate condition. I really can’t fault it at all. He really is an outstanding member of your team, smiling throughout and knew the answer to any question I had. He gave me a rundown of the different types of memberships, and with being a student this one really stuck out to me! However I do have other family and friends who will appreciate this massively too. Overall a 10/10 experience and I look forward to joining!

Bailey was outstanding
Bailey gave me and excellent tour and really highlighted all of the benefits of each facility, what an assist to your team you really have. I myself a student have been looking for a place to join and after viewing many places this by far tops them all! There’s a type of membership for everyone (I might even bring along my mum!) every inch of the place was clean and at high standards, I really can’t fault it. If I could give it more than 5* I totally would! So impressed

Awful app and too difficult to book classes
App doesn’t not work and classes can only be booked on web address. Impossible
to book classes even when the window opens which makes membership more or less redundant.

I feel very unsafe in Southgate Centre as I am a lady, 63 who was attacked verbally and body language by a man 3 months ago. I am still waiting for the centre Management to speak with the abuser and tell him he must leave my class, get away from me or give apologies, there is no empathy at all in the centre, for terrible experience suffered

The Southgate women's showers are absolutely disgusting. Hair everywhere, no maintenance and the shower pressure is absolutely shambolic. You'll have to wash for 30mins to be clean. The floors and the walls have limescale and dirt. The price you pay is not worth the germs. It stinks in the showers of sewage drain. Please don't leave your cleanser or any valuables it'll get stolen like mine did. Whoever took my Anua face wash hope you get acne for life :) oh and to add the sauna and steam are unbelievably dirty. The sauna has to be the most vile, the walls have lighting so it shows all the dirt and sweat of others on the floor. The steam rooms just stinks of damp. This lesuire center needs TLC asap.

Love the place but sort out the racism !
Love the place. However experienced racism in the sauna. A family were ranting about how they hate Muslims (as quoted - *Fu***** Muslims) and then had the audacity to ask if I was Muslim.
The shere ignorance.
Not the first time.
You need to put a sign up atleast. No politics, no religious opinions and no menthol oils!
Not hard.

Overall good facilities
Overall good facilities, new well equipped gym, only downside are the cleaning standards, men’s changing rooms, and mostly showers are not very clean and with mold and black spots.
Access to the pool is open to people even without taking a shower before jumping in the water, it should be mandatory to shower before entering the pool.
Steam room and sauna should be much more cleaned and sanitised.

Extremely cold water
All the coaches and staff are great, but the water in the pool is too cold. All the kids were shaking. How they supposed to learn how to swim, when they can't relax in the water.

Not enough weights or equipment for…
Not enough weights or equipment for body pump class.
Spin bikes are always filthy.
Hard to get on to any classes as there not enough of the popular ones and they keep taking on new members without resolving these issues. Either buy more equipment or add more popular classes.
I need to set an alarm to get onto any class and the site always crashes as people fight for spaces.

Our Fitness Classes enjoy significant popularity across all our facilities, and we strongly recommend that customers make advance bookings to ensure availability for the desired activities. Nonetheless, we recognise that scheduling conflicts may arise, given the high demand from other customers.
We strive to maintain an equitable booking system for all patrons and offer a waitlist option for fully booked classes, allowing you the opportunity to participate should a cancellation occur.
Additionally, we will communicate your concerns regarding the cleanliness of the Spin bikes to the centre manager for further investigation.
