Bindia er en lokal kæde af Indiske Take Away & Dine-Ins i København siden 2003. Amer Sulman er grundlæggeren af og hovedkokken for Bindia. Hos Bindia laver vi certificeret økologisk og sund indisk mad (30-60%) - også vegansk - uden tilsætningsstoffer og konserveringsmidler. Vi bruger ikke forarbejdet mad eller frituresteger og vi tilsætter ikke hverken animalsk fedt eller farvestoffer. Vi har haft Det Økologiske Spisemærke siden 2015, hvor vi som de første i Skandinavien inden for det indiske køkken satte fokus på økologien. Og vi har en klar målsætning om forsat at blive endnu grønnere. Vores mad er inspireret af Ayurvediske opskrifter og Bindia tilbyder formentlig de største portionstørrelser af retter blandt al indisk take away. I Ayurveda fungerer mad nemlig som forebyggende medicin og som den primære drivkraft bag at holde din krop sund og dit immunforsvar stærkt. De gode, gammeldags metoder i det indiske køkken giver nemlig maden en naturlig og bæredygtig holdbarhed. Desuden har vi alle vores madvarer på køl, og den endelige ret laves først, når du bestiller den - og vi bruger aldrig mere, end det du får. Alt fra vores bæreposer, menukort og take-away-skåle er fremstillet af 100% genanvendt, ubleget papir. Både vores poser og menukort kan sorteres som papir - men vi anbefaler at man genanvender posen så meget som muligt først. For at skålene skal kunne tåle den varme, flydende mad, er en tynd plast-coating på indersiden nødvendig. Derfor skal skåle og tilhørende låg sorteres som almindeligt husholdningsaffald. I am really sorry if our food did not meet your expectations! The Chicken Tikka Masala that you ordered is a universal dish and have lots of different versions. Ours is definitely adjusted to fit the native Danish crowd, that makes up most of our customer base. We do however have an extensive menu with a range of rich, strong and flavourful options. May I recommend trying a dish with a bit more kick? For example the Madras or the Coconut Tamarind curry?

A taste of authentic Indian cuisine in Copenhagen

Coming from South Africa, where Indian cuisine is deeply cherished, I often find that Indian food in Denmark is adapted to a milder palate. My taste buds crave bold spices and rich flavours, so discovering Bindia—and its wonderfully accommodating owner, Amer—was an absolute delight.

The butter chicken is, without a doubt, my favourite. I tend to stick to one dish, and I was thrilled to see it prepared the way it should be—vibrant orange, not the strange pink I’ve encountered elsewhere! The flavour is incredible, perfectly balanced, and without the excess oil that sometimes dulls the experience.

Beyond the food, the service at Bindia is outstanding. The staff is warm and welcoming and always eager to go the extra mile. The quality of food, attention to detail, and level of customer care at Bindia are truly second to none.

Well done, Bindia, for serving authentic Indian cuisine in Copenhagen. I’ll definitely be back!

Vi havde bestilt mad fra jer her til aften, og madens smag var der intet at udsætte på, den var som altid god, MEN, desværre for os var den kold, naan brødene det samme fordi WOLTs bud var mere end 30 minutter om at levere det de ca 1,3 km fra restauten til vores bopæl, og det ødelagde desværre hele måltidet, for kold mad og kold naan er ikke det samme som den varme udgave.

You placed your order with us on 08.01.2025 and reviewed us on Google afterwards. We replied to that review within two days. Now, over 2 weeks later, you have written a similar review here + on our Facebook page. You are of course free to share your experience where-ever you like, but for one take away dish (out of two ordered) that you did not like (there was nothing wrong with it - you just didn't like it), it sure seems like a lot of effort to get your point out there.

Since we are talking about the same experience from 08.01.2025, all I can do is give you the same answer as I originally did on Google:

First of all, I'm very sorry to hear that you did not like our Biryani!

As a restaurant in Denmark, we are under strict supervision and inspection from Fødevarestyrelsen, so I can guarantee you that you won't receive a product from us that is old. With the level of control and documentation, all such risks have been eliminated.

We can only guarantee the temperature of the food until it leaves the shop. At the moment, when temperatures are around 0-5 degrees and the wind is blowing, the food gets chilled super fast when you're outside. Obviously, I can't say for sure what happened in your case, but if you should ever end up in a similar situation again, you can always reheat our food according to our reheating instructions (that was also sent as part of your order confirmation).

I understand that none of these factors changes the way you felt about the Biryani, and once again, I am very sorry that we did not meet your expectations!

After reading your other Google reviews, it's clear that you have very high standards when it comes to Indian food, and I respect that. We are always striving to improve, so please let me know which other Indian take away / restaurant that has a better Biryani. I would to look further into what we could improve in our recipe.

I also noticed that you are a frequent customer at Bindia, and we are genuinely grateful to you for that 🙏

I admit there can be fluctuation in the quality of our nan breads once a while.

Having smaller kitchens we can not room a full-fledged tandoor, therefore, half-baked nans are received from our production kitchen which we bake at the shops.

Købte den alt for dyre butterchicken som take-away. Jeg kommer hjem med maden, sætter mig til rette, og allerede ved første bid bemærker jeg at kyllingen var hård. Næste bid var kyllingen både hård og havde dårlig bismag af fordærvet kød. Jeg blev MEGET irriteret og gik tilbage til restauranten, der i øvrigt de sidste fem gange jeg har været der har udmærket sig ved at være gabende tom, selv i prime time. De konfererer frem og tilbage, og bliver enige om, at jeg havde spist halvdelen af retten, og at kyllingen ikke fejlede noget.De havde prøvesmagt den. Det havde jeg ikke. Jeg havde som sagt spist halvandet stykke kylling, men det er klart, at når man i forvejen er fedtet med portionerne, så er det nemmere at anklage kunden for at have spist det meste. Jeg sidder i den mennesketomme restaurant i ca 10 minutter uden at høre noget yderligere, og spørger så, om hvad de har tænkt sig. Jeg bliver tilbudt en anden ret, og tager lamb spinach. Fik Forklaret, at maden kommer forberedt udefra, og jeg har da også gennem tiden bemærket en varevogn komme og levere gennemsigtige bøtter med sovse og så videre. Kort fortalt: Bindia er bare ikke nogen god indisk restaurant, så nu bliver der ikke handlet her længere.

First and foremost, I want to express how sad it makes me to read this kind of feedback from a valued and regular customer like you. I sincerely regret that we didn’t meet your expectations this time!

When you returned with your Butter Chicken, my colleagues informed me over the phone immediately. I instructed them to take the dish back, check the chicken (which they confirmed was fresh and not spoiled), and prepare a new Butter Chicken for you as quickly as possible.

Later, when you requested a Lamb Spinach instead, my colleagues contacted me again, and I instructed them to accommodate your request. I also asked them to inform you that the chicken was fresh and not spoiled—just to provide clarity since it didn’t meet your expectations. Afterall, there is a significant difference between the chicken being too hard (perhaps due to overcooking etc.) and the food being spoiled (which could potentially cause a health hazard).

I wish I could have spoken with you directly, but I couldn’t because I was working alone that day, taking phone orders for all of our 6 shops. Every individual, indeed, has a unique way of expressing and communicating, and I am truly sorry if the way my colleagues handled the situation made you feel disbelieved. That was certainly not our intention!

Empty restaurant?:
None of our 6 shops are restaurants. We are a takeaway concept, and 95% of our orders are takeaway (pickup or delivery). We do offer our customers to sit and eat at the shop (this is what we call "dine-in"), but we're definitely not a restaurant. However, our shop at Trianglen used to be a restaurant (until 2020), hence we still have the tables and chairs. So I understand how this could have confused you.

Food from outside?:
Since 2009 we have had our own central production kitchen, where we produce all the individual parts of the food which we use at the shops to assemble your meal. Indian food takes many hours to prepare when done in the traditional style like we do, and we do this centralised in our production kitchen to keep control of the quality etc.

On 28/12 (when this episode happened), we sold more than 250 dishes with chicken from the same batch as was used in your meal, and we have had no other complaints regarding their quality or freshness. That said, I fully acknowledge your negative experience and apologize for it - you might have been unlucky and got a few pieces of overcooked/burnt chicken. This should definitely not happen, and it is a legitimate issue.

Under al kritik

Vores første gang med Take away fra Bindia Søborg- har tidligere spist på Østerbro, hvilket var fint. Det her var under al kritik! Risene var tydeligt genopvarmede - måske mikroovn. Selve kødretten var ok, men en ret lille portion ift. prisen, og voldsomt stærk i betragtning af at vi valgte den mildeste af tre mulige styrker.
Værst var dog nanbrødene ! Aldrig har jeg fået noget så elendigt fra et indisk sted! De var knas tørre, seje og smagte for øvrigt slet ikke af hvidløg som vi havde bestilt. Intet af det brød vi havde bestilt ( 2 x 2 brød) var værd at spise overhovedet- det røg i skraldespanden! Det virkede som mikroovnopvarmning, men min mand så at de blev taget ud af et slags varmeskab - der må de nødvendigvis have ligget i virkelig mange timer - eller fra dagen før! Øv!! Der kommer vi ikke igen

I am very sorry to hear about your poor experience! Please allow me to respond on you points:

Rice reheated:
Our shop opens at 4:00 PM, and we cook the rice daily, just before opening. Customers who arrive within the first two hours do not require their rice to be reheated. However, for customers who arrive after that, we do microwave the rice slightly to make sure they are warm. At the end of the day, we throw away any unsold rice. We sell around 500 meals per day, and very rarely do I get negative feedback on the rice, but something could of course have gone wrong in your particular order, i.e. overheating the rice in the microwave. After your feedback, I have gone through our reheating procedures with my staff at the shop.

Portion size:
I'm sorry if the portions felt smaller during your recent visit. I want to assure you that our portion sizes (for all our shops) for curries and rice have consistently been 400g and 300g, respectively. The portion sizes are written clearly in our menu.

According to my personal appetite, a 700g meal is a little more than what I can handle. But after your feedback I found this article, which says that an average meal for an adult is 600-800g (source: https://samvirke.dk/artikler/saa-meget-spiser-dine-gaester)
You mentioned in your feedback that your husband picked up the food, so I'm assuming that you were 2 people sharing the food. However, I can see from your order details that you only bought 1 curry. Our dishes are meant for 1 adult, not 2. I think it's safe to say that that's pretty normal for take away food, if not mentioned otherwise(i.e. a "sharing menu" or similar).

Spicy curry:
I would like to apologize if the Jeera Masala Chicken curry did not meet your expectations in terms of spiciness.

Our menu is categorised in three spiciness levels:
a. Spicy dishes are marked with either 1 or 2 chili icons.The Jeera Masala curry that you ordered is marked with 1 chili icon, so it is supposed to be spicy.
b. Dishes without the chilli icon are normal/mild.
This represents the default/base spiciness of a certain dish.

You mentioned in your feedback that you selected the mildest of 3 options. You are referring to the optional extra spiciness that can be added for any dish, regardless of the default spiciness. That's why the options are called Standard/Hot/X-hot. So "Standard" simply means that we do not add any extra spiciness to the dish - not that we make the dish milder. If you have a suggestion on how to improve the communication in this regard,please let me know.

Garlic Nan issues:
You mentioned that the nan breads was dry and without garlic taste.The strength of the garlic can vary depending on the source. We try to keep the garlic amount in the middle to keep the majority of our customers happy. I also receive feedback from customers who thinks we have too much garlic on the Garlic Nan.

For a takeaway shop like ours, which gets very busy between 17:30 to 20:00, it is logistically impossible to bake the nan-bread simultaneously.
So, the nan bread is baked beforehand (when we are not busy).Then we keep it inside bags and in a thermobox, to keep the bread warm until handed over to you.So it is correct what you said about taking the nan breads out of a heating container. I totally agree that this is not an ideal solution as it compromises the quality. Nan bread is basically like a pizza, and best if eaten right out of the tandoor(oven) and not after being packed(no matter for how long).

Gift Card:
As our token of apology for your poor experience, a gift card of your full order amount has already been sent via email. This is because I am 100% sure that the experience was a one-off, and that if you give us a second chance, you would not be dissapointed.We are still the same people behind the brand as when you used to buy from us at the Østerbro location and happy guests are our bread and butter, as we live off our returning customers.

Great food and service

The food was very delicious with lots of various flavors. They also made an effort in meeting my needs for a gluten free diet. It is one of the few restaurants where I feel safe as a coeliac. The order was ready on time and there was even enough for the next day.
