Went to Browns in West India Quay yesterday with a friend for a roast dinner that we’d been looking forward to, as neither of us had had one in ages. We ordered the beef roast with cauliflower cheese... Ver mais

Great sunday lunch
Not the cheapest sunday lunch but probably one of the best I've had a while. As well as the lamb cottage pie.
Excellent and attentive service by the well dressed staff. Great atmosphere with a piano playing in the background and an enjoyable experience.
Not proper Sourdough
I had breakfast at Bluewater and I noticed that their quality had slipped, bacon was changed for a little bit of streaky, black pudding was smaller and the bread wasn’t proper Sourdough, it looked and tasted like yeasted bread. Still nice but not as nice as it was.
Poor and this being nice
Mothers day meal today the food was poor , we got Sunday dinner toast beef. Not sure if chef cut meat or plastic surgeon it was that thin. The beef was fatty had to put in tissue it was that bad.
One of sons got 12oz sirloin steak on the bone £34 it took him 5 mins to cut the fat off !! then it was like a beef burger
First time and the last
Seen poor reviews feedback and the general manager gives you a thanks but nothing to say sorry

Excellent hosts for my 30th birthday
Excellent hosts for my 30th birthday. They put on amazing food for everyone at a really good price and sectioned off an area of the restaurant for me and my guests. They were extremely attentive hosts and made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. Will definitely be recommending them for anyone hosting events in future. Massive thanks to all of the team for making my birthday extra special.
Sunday Roast at Browns Bluewater.
Sunday Roast at Browns Bluewater.
We go for Sunday lunch regularly. The last time we went the beef was so fatty we could not eat it. It was a regular server Kevin. He said he could not replace the beef as there was no more ready. Also on this occasion the Yorkshire pudding was so crispy we could not eat that either. I was disappointed, as we are regular diners's and we left all the meat and the Yorkshire pudding. The server did not seem interested. Just said the Yorkshire puddings are always crispy and the beef can be fatty.
I have complained on line twice but had no response.
Very disappointing that we had no response when i took the time to complain on line. We have not been back to Browns to eat since.

First visit to Browns in Exeter by the Quay after it took over from another chain. Great free car park ( for customers) right on site which a is a great plus in Exeter!
Although I’d booked our table for 3 online they had no record of this when we arrived. The straight faced front of house (needs to smile !) man found us a table anyhow. Not very welcoming start. Fortunately we had a lovely friendly young waiter HARVEY who we were very impressed with. Although only young he was very engaging and looked after us throughout our meal. We had downloaded the Brown’s app which offered us a free cocktail which was a bonus. Lots of other offers on here so worth doing. Our mains were delicious but could have been served much hotter.
Overall very pleased with our first experience of Browns and will be back!

Always great service at Browns Canary Wharf, they welcomed us and guided my father and his mobility scooter to a perfect spot.
Food great, staff even better
Browns Exeter. Very disappointing
Browns Exeter
Food was a bit disappointing for the price. I had a chicken schnitzel with a fried egg on top. Nothing special.
Well staffed and efficient service but I gradually got a bit irratated by being asked how my food was by 8 different people just when I had a mouth ful! 🥴
Ps: ran out of my favourite Creme Brulee as early as 6.35pm on a Friday evening!!
Pps: Had a brownie instead. Not good, I'm afraid.🤦♀️
I suggest a better pastry chef? 🤔
The other thing I was put off was by an air fresher smell, like the awful smelling ones you get hanging in your car after a car wash, used to mask the cooking smells coming from the kitchen. Begs the question? Are the air extractors not effective enough in the kitchen? Or maybe use of organic fragrances would have be better..... I couldn't wait to get out in the fresh air.
Shame becaus the waiting staff try really hard.
Greeted warmly by friendly staff
Greeted warmly by friendly staff, shown to our table. I have multiple allergies and our waitress was extremely good going through the menu with me. Once our food was served our waitress was great at checking to make sure everything was fine. Service above and beyond. Thank you!

Overpriced cold food with sloppy service
Beyond Expectations
Visited Brown's in Manchester for a pre-theatre meal on New Year's Day.
First was the range of choice that despite my dietary requirements, did not make me feel that I was missing out. Food was excellent, with portions just the right size to leave you satisfied but not stuffed.
However, the prompt for this review was not the food, but the outstanding service.
The restaurant was busier than expected considering the date (and the atrocious weather) but drinks and meals were still delivered promptly. All the serving staff were young, attentive and positively beaming. It is a shame that such is the general state of hospitality, that service with a smile is considered the exception rather than the norm. Nevertheless they made our meal a delight, and set the tone for the rest of our evening. Thank you!
Lovely lunch
My daughter love their seabass and I like Greg's negroni, always great service, atmosphere and friendly team.
Will be back soon!
First visit to the Browns in Exeter…
First visit to the Browns in Exeter since it took over from Harvester as our pre Christmas meal out and we were extremely disappointment. I’ve given it two stars simply because of our kind and polite waitress. Given menus and sat and decided food only to be told half of the food wasn’t available. Waited an age for starters to come out and really expected more for the price! Luke warm at best and not at all worth the cost. Waited another age for mains which weren’t much to right home about either, warm enough but dry chip. Waitress was decent about it but given 50% off was a saving grace! Apparently the head of kitchen left after only 4weeks, explains a lots. We enjoyed our cheap and cheerful and value for money Harvester way better. Won’t be back sadly and wouldn’t recommend either.
Browns Glasgow-This is not the same place used to be
This is not the same place used to be. It was one of my best places to go with friend for a lovely meal. Unfortunately this time I was left speechless by the whole experience. It was awkward situation for me as I was the one responsible for choosing the restaurant! from beginning to the end was disastrous. Slow service, food from a'la carte not available. Main meal clearly was re-heated in a microwave. Shocking desserts- "cheese board" extremely poor with 3 biscuits and 4 slices of just standard cheese. It wasn't served as a board but just on the white standard plate with very poor presentation. Brownie was absolutely terrible . It was very thin square something looking like a square sausage with scoop of some tasteless ice-cram. This is not the Browns I know. What's going on? £345 for 2 course dinner for two and 3 course for other two is well overpriced for the food we have had. Please note they charge £40 for bottle of standard and very average Prosecco. Quality of food should be improved as a matter of urgency. Staff should be more professional and attentive. Improvement to cleanliness of toilets required. Bring back old Brown's. I won't be returning anytime soon.
Horror experience visit to Browns Restaurant…
Visit on 3rd December Im 82 and chair leg broke under me throwing me to floor,Management not interested in my welfare since visit. On day food served cold ,microwaved, came back food still cold, plate warm.I would not go back to Browns again I would rather go to a homeless persons soup kitchen
Second visit to Browns in Sutton…
Second visit to Browns in Sutton Coldfield and yet again the service was terrible 😞 and food was not great to say the least!
Had to wait 10 mins before my young daughter was served a simple pasta dish, whilst mine and my husband’s had been served. No steak knife provided, or cutlery for my dish (this occurred on my first visit too). Cocktail ordered was not even a full flute, the parsnips (beef blade dish) were rock hard and very dry beef, fries (with steak) were stale as if they had been cooked some time ago.
I thought to visit a few weeks after my first visit (which was a quiet week evening) to give the restaurant the benefit of doubt as I thought my initial visit issues might just have teething issues, but unfortunately not.
When I asked the waitress for extra jus, she didn’t even know what this meant!!!
Definitely my last visit and would jrecommend people to not waste their hard earned money on this venue
Cold roadt potatoes
Had roast in Ascot. Potatoes cold and hard. Complained. Redid exactly the same. When spoke to manager said that was required temp! What a load of rubbish! Poor food, over priced! Head office do not respond to complaints!
Thank you, Rob
We visited late afternoon Sat 7th Dec. While busy to overflowing Rob, our waiter, spent sufficient time understanding our allergy demands. The resulting staters and main courses were cooked to perfection. Full credit to Rob and to Brown’s. We will return.
