Terrible Experience with this website

Don't buy from this company, terrible service and unable to provide basic answers to the status of my order for 2 weeks. I purchased 4 appliances from Build.com for my renovation, working specifically with a sales rep Naya Gambino to ensure all items were in stock prior to making selections. 1 out of 4 items shipped right away, but the rest, 3 of them (in stock items) kept being pushed back for no reason. I received all together 4 emails notifying me of the delays with revised ship dates already passed. The sales rep Naya stopped responding. I finally had to cancel my order 15 days later. Don’t work with this company. Terrible service.

I’m a general contractor for over 50…

I’m a general contractor for over 50 years and Ferguson/ Build.com is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with and that’s saying a lot! Liars and customer service or there lack of is absolutely atrocious. Spent a lot of money with them in the past but never again. I’ll let all my subs and contractor friends know to never buy from them.(they were better when it was build.com)

they lie, don't ship and never refund you

Purchased a cooktop on 7/26 that build.com salesperson said was in stock and ready to ship. Received a communication one day later saying item was back-ordered and would ship in 4 months! called to cancel the order on 7/28. Rep said they will have to contact Bosch to cancel the order (i didn't buy from Bosch!). two weeks later order has not been cancelled nor credit card refunded. Called again and they answer the same thing: need to wait for Bosch to approve cancelation.

I read these reviews with trepidation…

I read these reviews with trepidation after placing an order for a Speed Queen dryer. I was doubtful I’d receive a working item in a timely fashion and would have to contact my cc company. Not so! Two days after ordering I received a shipping notice. Within 10 days I received a beautiful dryer, well-packaged, damage free. This after all local dealers are out of stock until September. I’m relieved and happy. And I saved over $100 shopping at build.com. Recommend - based on personal experience, at least!

Claimed to have 4 in stock with 2-6…

Claimed to have 4 in stock with 2-6 week delviery.
I ordered, and checked on things a few weeks later "all good it's processing and will be shipped momentarily".
Then at 10 weeks they canceled the order and said it's discontinued. So all they did was hold onto my $2k for 2 months and waste 2 months of my life when I could have ordered this refrigerator from someone else. Bunch of scammers is all they are.

Customer Service will straight up LIE…

Customer Service will straight up LIE to your face. I ordered a 40" x 28" bathroom vanity mirror that cost me $198 - expensive mirror. First mirror shipped to me within 1 week but was damaged, it was peeling. I realize the item was drop-shipped direct from the manufacturer because the UPS notification I got had a different company name as the sender. I called customer service and after a 40 minute wait on hold, with no option to call you back, a rep gets on (I wont use her name) and tells me she's sorry she will order a replacement. Doesn't tell me if I need to send the damaged one back, which does not fit in my car. Then I find out that the mirror is backordered for 2 months until July 13 she tells me. Repeated emails asking if I need to send damaged mirror back go unanswered for weeks. Then when July 13 comes I ask for an update and I am told by same rep via email that the vendor just got the mirror in stock, and it is shipping tomorrow. Well, on July 14 I get no notification from UPS about a new label created, so I get suspicious and I find their 3rd party vendor who actually ships the mirror and I look up the model # on their website and guess what, Estimated in stock date says August 6. So the source company says they don't expect it for 3 more weeks, yet the Build service rep lying to me telling me it's back in and shipping July 14. Today is the 16th of July and there is no tracking for the order, still says pending ship. I've been in the service industry my entire life, the #1 rule is that you don't just make stuff up and lie to customers. Unless you know FOR SURE the thing is shipping tomorrow don't tell someone that. Whatis wrong with this place. 3 months now my main bathroom has no mirror above the vanity. WIll never order again.

Great Company!

This is a great site to order supplies. I remodeled my bathroom with all Build.com orders several months ago. I recently ordered a ceiling fan in which the shipping company lost! I contacted Build by chat and the immediately sent out a new fan at no charge. Great customer service!

Ordered a bathroom faucet and toilet…

Ordered a bathroom faucet and toilet tank lever. It took four months to get the order. When the order arrived the toilet tank lever was not the one that was ordered. Call customer service on the first attempt and was on hold for one hour and 45 minutes. No answer. Attempted a second call the next day on hold again 45 minutes. No answer. The only customer service that you get is a bot in a live chat.No customer service for me, no future purchases from me.

If I could rate a zero I would! I have been trying to get a hold of someone for nearly five hours in regards to a unique return request! I have been put through the leave a message, 24-48 hours response and chat back in later circle of hell because NOBODY IS AVAILABLE!!!!! I have been doing business with Build.com for about seven years!!!! NEVER AGAIN will I recommend and/or order anything from them!!!! TOTAL NIGHTMARE!!!!!

Online chat support is a joke.

I needed some help with hardware for commercial glass doors. Tried to chat with someone and after waiting in the queue twice (it froze the first time) I was connected with Marie B. This person did not listen to what I was saying and kept replying with responses that either indicated they were not reading my messages or that it was an automated system. It finally ended with a bunch of links to their website and offer to be a project manager for my "project" (even though I told them I was just looking for some hardware for a set of existing doors). Will never do business with them. If someone wants help beyond just ordering from their website, good luck.

I want to thank Nick Valenzuela for…

I want to thank Nick Valenzuela for assisting me in my search for the items we wanted for our bathroom remodel! Nick researched every item I needed for the shower system and when I changed designs from a wall mount to ceiling mount rain head he promptly gave me return labels and credit and directed me to the model I ended up buying. His knowledge and project management skills are saving me time and the bathroom isn't done yet _ thanks again Nick! Talk again soon!

Stay away of doing business with Build.com

On 21 March 2021, I placed an order at Build.com for a Kohler Santa Rosa toilet. My credit card was charged right away for the price of the toilet which was approximately $300. A week later the shipping company delivered several boxes from Build.com to my house. A few days later my contractors who were working on our bathroom renovation indicated that incorrect item was delivered: instead of one Kohler toilet two Toto toilets were delivered to me. The packaging slip that was attached to the boxes indicated my name and order details for Kohler toilet. I immediately reached out to the Build.com customer service. After approximately 40 minutes of wait time I was connected to the representative who assisted me with the return or the items which were sent to me by mistake by Build.com. A week later the shipping company came to pick up the boxes (which were unopened since original delivery), however, they were not able to pick up the boxes since they were missing a pallet on which the boxes were originally delivered. This was due to the fact that my contractors discarded the pallet together with some of the construction debris in. I called the customer service again. After an hour wait I spoke with the representative who indicated that they can’t pick up my order without a pallet (even though all the packages are unopened and in the same condition as they were delivered to me). I was suggested to go to Home Depot and seek for a new pallet there. Since I don’t have a car which can fit a pallet into, I sent another e-mail to Build.com requesting to resolve this situation since it was obviously not my fault that Build.com messed up my order (my order was never delivered and I was stuck with two toilets I never ordered). Shortly after I received a call from Build.com and the representative indicated that they will arrange the pick up of the boxes by UPS (who do not require the pallet). She also indicated that I will get my money back shortly after the items are picked up. The next day the UPS guy came by and was able to pick up only two boxes (one toilet) since Build.com provided him with only two labels (while I specifically indicated that there are 2 toilets in 4 boxes). After correspondence with the customer service again I was assured that they will send additional two labels. The next day the same UPS guy came with ONE LABEL for 0.5lbs package (!) and obviously did not pick up the second toilet since there are two boxes and their weight is definitely more than 0.5lbs. I sent another e-mail to the customer service but they responded that I need to “call in and ask to speak with a manager”. After my request to provide the direct phone number of the manager or ask him/her to call me (I don’t have time to spend additional hour waiting on the line and explaining the entire story from the beginning) there was a radio silence - Build.com customer decided to stop responding on my e-mails.
• As a summary, I have never received my original order but was charged for it. It’s almost 3 months that I am dealing with Build.com and trying to get my money back for the order that I have never received. They suggested that I talk to the manger and stopped responding to my e-mails…
I’m currently dealing with my bank to dispute this fraudulent transaction with Build.com. I would never do any business with this company!

No customer service

No customer service. Need to cancel an order and have been on hold for 60 minutes with now end in sight.
Not worth the small amount of money you think you might save.
Go somewhere else.

Build.com is a sham

Build.com is a sham. We spent $696 in March, and were told the order was backordered multiple times. Three months later, still no shipment. They are now claiming the order was cancelled due to the items being discontinued. We still have not received a refund of any kind and are out the $696. Do NOT buy from this company unless you want to give away free money.

UNRELIABLE

Ordered several items last year. All went fine. This year items were placed at UPS without my knowledge, no one informed me to pick up the items. They sat there a week and now I waited an entire day for a toilet that never arrived (we verbally set up a delivery date two days ago) SO DONE..BUILD.COM GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!!

Careful with Freight items

If you are ordering something shipped from Build.com it will be great, timely and good, quality products. (I ordered all Kohler). If you are ordering something shipped by freight, watch out. We had 2 freight orders, a tub and tile. Both were a disaster. Every time we called build.com we would wait on hold for a hour and get a different story. Finally on our own we found our our tub was sitting at the freight company in our town. We somehow found the tile on our own too. Delayed our project.
