I have already put a review on this page but I’d like to add to it.
Beware beware beware.
After my experience which you can read below, my car, which was supposedly scrapped is now driving around London into the congestion charge everyday.
As I had forgotten to cancel my Autopay with TFL I now have a bill for £75.
I have reported this dreadful “company” to Trading Standards and I urge you all to do the same. Here’s the number.

Offered £375 told us that was a guaranteed price, informed them of damage etc.
Still said doesn't matter thats the price you will get.
Came collected the car phoned to say money will be in in 24 hours. Called back the next day and said found a hole in the gearbox.. absolute lies.. had new mot the month before and drove perfect.. new offer £130 or go collect the car from 200 miles away that we already transferred over to them knowing full well we wouldn't be able to collect it and backed us into a corner to have to accept the offer.
Not the first review I've seen doing the exact same thing. They take it miles away knowing you cant get it back and will not bring it back.

This is confirmed by the name that their bank is under "Nationwide Scrap L" which I found out after being pressured into accepting £50 after being quoted £270.

Same story as everyone else - told me the catalytic converter was "after market" and if I knew this. Of course I didn't because the catalytic converter isn't "after market".

The woman on the phone pretends to be someone different every time. It's honestly embarrassing that she pretends to put you through to somone and then it's just her on the other end again.

They will give you a quote and then once they've "checked" your car they will tell you it's only worth £50 in scrap.

The address they gave me was false as I looked it up and called the garage linked to the address and they said they didn't have my car. So even if I wanted to pick my car up I had nowhere to go to.. but don't worry, the clown on the phone will "assure you" that your car is there.

I really hope they get caught soon.

What a joke this place is stay away your get much better money shopping around they offer good amount over the phone they then take your car and then call u to tell you they can’t give u what was quoted and try robbing ya blind use redcorn breakers you get what they say would not use ever again or recommend

Shocking avoid! Offered price and car collected. Then price significantly dropped citing there was further issues with the car. This was untrue as had the car inspected the week previous so knew the issues which had declared. Told if i wanted car back I had to go to Southampton and pay a £300 release fee! So would have had to pay tow fee plus release fee. Absolute jokers.

I was quoted £300 for scrapping my Honda CR-V on the condition that the car was running and that I accurately described any known issues. I clearly explained in advance that the catalytic converter had been replaced with an unofficial part, which caused the warning light to stay on. I stated openly that this was the only issue I knew about, and I was assured that it would not affect the agreed £300 price.

The car was collected at 5:00 p.m. that evening based on that agreement.

At 8:50 the next morning, I received a call saying the quote was being reduced to £100 because of the exact same issue I had already disclosed in full. Given the extremely short time between collection and this new offer, it is difficult to see how a proper assessment could have been carried out overnight. It creates the impression that the reduction may have been planned from the start, regardless of what I stated or how honest I was.

When I reminded them that I had fully explained the catalytic converter situation beforehand and had been told it was fine, they said it “wasn’t written down on their side.” I then requested the vehicle be returned, but they refused unless I paid for transportation — even though the car has no tax or MOT and was collected solely for scrapping.

If I had stayed with Redcorn’s £240 guaranteed quote, I would have avoided this entire situation. Instead, I was promised £300, had my car collected, and then was pressured to accept £100 the next morning. I have refused and been told I will get a call back, curious to see what will be done.

Changing an agreed quote after collection — especially with such timing — is extremely disingenuous. The reasoning is even more disingenuous using my own information against me when I was clear and honest. Customers should be fully aware of this behaviour before accepting any quote from this company.

UPDATE: the company had told me they would call me and resolve this however instead they have sent me only £100 into my bank account and when I have called them they have hung the phone up on me. The start of all of their calls clearly state that they record every conversation so they clearly know that I had informed them about the catalytic converter. Instead of doing the correct thing and paying me the correct amount of money which was agreed as I have provided the vehicle in exactly the condition as described and they had quoted me exactly £300 providing me with no information as to why I should accept less other than the stated facts that I had given them. I refuse to believe that the rest of these five star reviews on this page or others are real. This company is completely fraudulent and I believe they’re using fake reviews to silence unhappy customers. This lie is structured in such a way that they are in essence stealing peoples cars. This is a highly fraudulent company because no real legitimate company for the sake of £200 would hang the phone up on legitimate customers. I have never dealt in my life with such a fraudulent company and I would highly recommend anyone and everyone to not use this company. None of their quotes can be trusted and they will simply take your car and pay you what they like and then they will ignore you. They have stolen my car. There is no other word for it because the contract I signed with them was not upheld on their side. I will be reporting this to the police as a theft of motor vehicle. Furthermore, I will be reporting them to trading standards because these standards that this company set are far below and you reasonable human being or company. Absolutely shocking and disgusting that they use fake reviews to prop up their disgusting business.

Also, I should add that the driver who come to collect my car when arriving was on the phone with the police because he had been arrested a week before specifically because he had taken someone’s car in the same manner he did with me and he had an issue with the police who had arrested him at the time. I waited almost 15 minutes for him to talk to the police before I could handover my car, which was very weird to experience. I now understand why he was arreste, the actions of this company is that fraudulent. nothing I have stated is incorrect or defamatory every single piece of information that I have included in this review is factual. Absolute scumbags, I guess they hide behind the fact they pay you something to thwart the police. They don’t put their number on their site and they call you with mobile numbers, if you do have their office number if you simply call to speak, they’ll hang up. Actions of a fraudster not a real company.

Was quoted £450 for my car. A day later I was called and told them there was a traction light on dash and a minor oil drip which didn't affect the running as it was on a breather pipe not the engine. I then was offered £350 due to this leak and we agreed to go halfway £400 as it wasn't an engine oil leak. Car was collected and I was told car was being taken to Southampton not Hertford, I chose Hertford in case they started dropping their offer. Driver told me all was fine and car was going to Southampton, however he was not going direct to Southampton that day as it was 15.45 and M25 was dire. Next day at 09.15am I was called and offered £150 as turbo was tested and was faulty which had led to liners of engine being damaged. I informed the caller that the car was on its way to Southampton, not being delivered until later so how could they test it? I asked for images of the engine liners and still have no reply. My calls are going to a mailbox which is full. Why would a breakers dismantle an engine and then rebuild it when it was running fine, it was my daily car doing 40 miles a day. Beware..........
Update!!!! Car now has a fresh MOT performed in Hoddesdon and is back on the road, albeit with no road tax. Amazing......
