I was going to purchase my new car from John at CMC, however he couldn't get the one I wanted in time, so I had to go somewhere else on this occasion. However, John answered all my questions and the experience with him was really fantastic, I'll definitely keep him in mind the next time I am looking for a new car.

I happen to book a service for my car cupra which was done online on 27th of September 2024. And the date for the service was booked for 8th of October 2024. By mistake I happened to book the date on 8th. So I called up the service station and asked them if I could change the date to 2nd of October. The customer service person said to me will have a look and we will give a call back.
Regards to the earliest dates but no communication happened after that
So as off today being 8th of October 2024. I was booked for the service. From the service company to come and collect my car at 8:00 am from my workplace.

So today I had to give them a call to ask them if they're going to come and collect my car as I've been waiting on them. So the female who I spoke to said to me that I've not been booked in when I already have a confirmation email from the Chippenham motor company saying that the collection will be done by 8:00 on 8th October 2024. So she happened to check the booking and seems like I was not booked in from their side and when I asked her to book me again she said to me that they only do 10 miles radius collection as my distance of collection to the garage is 11 miles
So now I have to drive my car to the service station which is going to cost me a day out of work. And it's going to be an unpaid as I got to no annual holidays left in my account.
I'm very much upset with the service which has been provided to me as I was not contacted by any of the people regards to my service. Or regards to the collection policy
I wish I could give no stars but the reviews section has to put on one star at least

Have had my car since August 21st!

I recently ordered my 6th car from John Marchant & wouldn’t use anyone else. Always a pleasure dealing with John and I can’t wait to receive my new Kia Sportage!

I have had nothing short of a shambolic experience when buying a new car with this establishment . Ethan and the sales team were all very easy to talk to and deal with throughout the initial sales process , they are a credit to the team and that should be made clear prior to the rest of this quite frankly disappointing review .

On purchasing this vehicle it came with both the Kia warranty and some dealership warranty covering the major parts of the vehicle . The vehicle began to malfunction shortly after purchase with the gears either not engaging or disengaging. Not a problem ? it’s under warranty and had been owned for less than 2 weeks at this point .

The car was returned to the dealership for some investigation under warranty . It was booked into a predetermined appointment slot . We then received no contact regarding the car for a week . The only contact regarding the cars condition was initiated by ourselves and never the garage .

After some serious backwards and forwards in telephone calls to various members of the service team we were told “ you need a new clutch , we could repair this clutch , however you’ve not owned the car long so we will replace the clutch “ . We were even told the clutch had been ordered , when it was due to arrive and when it was due to be fitted “ . So far we were happy with the service that we had received and happy with the proposed agreed repair by Chippenham motor company .

Fast forward another 2 weeks . No contact from Chippenham Motor company again . further communications initiated by ourselves asking if the replacement clutch had been fitted and the vehicle was ready to be collected . We were met with some confusing information “ we have decided that the clutch doesn’t need replacement and we have bled and repaired the existing one and it’s fine “ .

Sorry that wasn’t the agreed repair . We were not accepting anything other than the agreed repairs. We then fell into the void of communication where nobody was available to offer us any advice or actually available to talk to at all regarding this from the service department .

Then began a saga of infighting at the company of who said what ? And who agreed to what ? . My car at this point had now been in the dealership garage longer than I had owned it. I even got to the point of enacting the vehicle purchase cooling off period and obtaining a full refund for the car as the issue was now entering its 4th week.

Again , sales team to the rescue . I struck up a conversation with the sales team who were equally as shocked and dissatisfied with the treatment I had received since my initial purchase . There was a lot of discussion about the prior service of the vehicle and my reluctance to believe it had occurred since I was facing so many issues with the vehicle so early on in owning it .

The sales team were great and pushed a resolution to the problem through. That resolution being the agreed initial replacement of a clutch . This took another week , so all in all this entire process took 6 weeks .

I received the car back nearly 6 weeks later with a rather condescending “ we won’t charge you for the clutch fluid as a gesture of good will” comment . I found this absolutely insane to be honest because I was literally about to enforce the cool off period where a few L of clutch fluid would have been nothing in comparison to a full refund of the car .

I have driven the car for 2k miles since owning it . And today the low engine oil warning came on . There is no leaks , all pipes and unions on the engine are fine and it had been “ serviced before sale “ .

So in 2k miles I’ve used nearly an entire engine of oil ? . I don’t think so . Driver ability ? I don’t think so I’m an advanced driver .

So NO I don’t believe the car was serviced prior to its sale to me .

I don’t trust the integrity of the service side of the business one bit , I’ve since booked a full service elsewhere to satisfy myself that it has been done .

The sales guys were and have been great . But if you’d like to sleep soundly knowing you have a decent standard of aftercare and reliability in the service department then my advice would be to not purchase a car from here .

Mobility sales were lovely. Andrew who I was dealing with was great, kept me updated every fortnight with delivery status which actually worked out coming in earlier than originally thought. Thank you Andrew Wenzal for all your help and keeping me updated ..Be safe
