Do not try to compare health insurance with these guys unless you want unsolicited calls off their staff that will not take no for an answer. I also noticed they only gave comparisons for 2 companys so undoubtedly its not going to be the best qoutes for your needs but rather whoever would pay them the highest kickbacks for selling the cover to you.

I would have given zero stars.
I was looking at Gas and Electricity and their suggestions were more expensive than my current plan with Origin and Origin wasn't even listed in their offers. I suspect they get paid by companies to prioritise suggested their companies.

Two years in a row I bought a policy through them that I specifically requested not to auto renew.
Both years I received a notification that the policy was going to auto renew.
They advised to cancel the auto renewal through the website, but both years the website cancellation option was not working.
When you call them, and select the option to cancel a policy, you get left on hold for half an hour.
When you call, and select the renewing a policy option, you get straight through to someone.

Wanted to look online to compare options. Got a call from a customer service agent. I explained at the beginning that I wanted to browse in my own time before he launched into trying to get me cover. I went along with it but at one point I said I need to go in 10 mins to pick up my son and when I said I didn't want a call back he told me I had wasted his time. I asked him to email me through the info and he refused.

Went to this site to compare home insurance because of the incessant advertising. I was surprised at the number of well known insurers who were not on the panel of providers.

That's the first warning sign.

Prices started at almost 40% above what we are actually paying and 25% above the renewal price.

That's the second warning sign.

Found a far better price on a competitor site.

Appears David Koch must have fallen on hard times.

Totally useless website. Asks WAY more questions than any insurer does, and then wont give any results. Clearly data farming.

They gave me a vero on ebay claiming they have the word "meerkat" trademarked. If they are happy to lie about something stupid like that, they can't be trusted.

Commercial Bias on this website.
Tried comparing the market for health insurance, they don't mention HIF because they are not listed on their commercially agreed list. Basically, you're comparing their market of friends, not the whole market.

It’s easy to use, but the pricing is horrendous. I used compare the market for my small business liability insurance. I got the first invoices of what I actually paid for, a whopping 35% of my premiums went to compare the market as a finder fee and if I’d had just gone to the insurers website I would’ve saved all that money. Safe to say I’m on the same coverage at 35% off the price LOL.

Like being harrased and coerced? Then this is the company for you. OMG🤯 can't take no for an answer and kept trying to push the sale. NOT ON, NOT EVER!!

Why bother!
I went on to this site to get a car insurance comparison. The quote from Woolworths Everyday was $844.65. When I went to the link provided in the quote to finalise the transaction I answered the same basic questions again and the quote escalated to over $1,530.85 I rang to enquire why there was almost a $700 difference and was told quotes via Compare the Market were “indicative only”. What a joke in addition to being a complete waste of time.

Unrealistic and biased review of the insurance market. I input volumes of my personal information, only to be provided with a list of insurers totalling 6 companies. The policies of the companies that were presented were priced consistently higher than the real market value, which I subsequently reviewed after having a hunch that I was not getting a true cross-section of the industry.
I saved over $600 a year, on my personal car insurance, by NOT using Compare The Market

My partner was looking into health insurance for me on compare the market as it was my first time getting health insurance and I had no idea where to even start. Minutes later he got a phone call from Johnny at compare the market. Not only was he able to find exactly what I needed at a great price, he explained in detail about what was included, saved me a tone of time and confusion and was also able to help my partner save on his existing health insurance as well. Want to be bothered every minute of the day? Then use this shitty service... They will call you (no joke) 10+ times in two days, despite being told to stop calling. To top it off, they don't even give you the best deal. Look elsewhere.

I was just trying to compare insurances, you of course have to give your email adress AND email to receive the results of your research.. I received 5 phone calls within 30mn right after asking for my results. It stopped as I reported them as spam, but do not use this service if you don't want to be harassed !

asked for Medical only travel insurance and their wonderful search engine came up with one candidate, completely useless

Used the website to compare electricity prices and the top result said it was 19% cheaper than the average. However as I scrolled down the list and looked more carefully realised that this plan was more expensive on both daily supply and time of use prices than all of the other 6 plans they showed. Not sure if there computer algorithm is stuffed or if they have some dodgy deal with energy australia but either way not good

This is a scam to plug Budget Direct. After some googling I found Budget Direct owns them. They also start ringing your phone even if you just want to browse. It is very annoying. They will show you the price for a new customer which is 15% off the real price. So the next year your insurance will go up 15%. Be very wary of this website as they are excluding most good insurance companies from there comparison. You are better off doing your own research with the reputable insurance companies.
